The associate was extremely helpful and patient when dealing with customers. Anytime I had questions or needed help with anything. She was there. The rooms were clean and neat. All staff were friendly.
Staff needs to improve interpersonal skills. Stayed here pre-COVID-19 with no problems. Now it seems COVID-19 is a go to for poor service. Yes, precautionary measures should be taken but good customer service and accommodations should not be sacrificed.
If you’re ever in the Norfolk area, do NOT stay at La Quinta Inn near Norfolk airport. It was the worst. We arrived late Thursday night. I worked all day, so by the time we arrived it was nearly 10:30. Upon entering the room 410, I smelled stale cigarette, esp in the bathroom-despite it being a non smoking facility. Ugh but fine, whatever. We were in what was considered a newly renovated room. We crawled into bed and relaxed, eventually falling asleep. The new t morning, I happened to notice long, black hairs hanging from shower curtain rod. Eww Shortly thereafter we were getting ready to leave to grab lunch before my daughters competition. It’s just in my nature to straighten up and make the bed so I go to do that and there is dried blood on the comforter. Thank goodness My daughter didn’t sleep with the covers or otherwise it would have ended up being near her face. At that point I was done. My other daughter then chimes in ‘oh, there’s trash in the dresser drawer’. I told them to pack their stuff and We are going to front desk. So I told the lady at front desk what was going on and her response was literally ‘but you’re in a renovated room.’ at that point I wanted to lose it. I remained calm though and said ‘ma’am, it has nothing to do with the construction or decor of the room. It is the lack of it being clean that I have an issue with.’ She said ‘well I can give you another room but it won’t be a renovated room.’ I said, ‘I want a clean room. I don’t care if it’s renovated or not.’ She was huffy the whole time and then said ‘just email the pictures to this email adress’ and then handed me the new keys. No apology at all. The new room was better. When we returned to hotel after competition and dinner, I signed the girls up for a time slot for the pool. So I went to front desk to fill out the no covid symptoms form and a guy worker walked us to the pool with 4 pool towels. Girls went swimming. When they got out, 2 of the towels he gave us were dirty. You would think in the period of covid that we are in, they’d go the extra mile to make people feel more comfortable and safe. Anyway, I have stayed at La Quintas in the past bc they’re pet friendly and have always had good experiences so I booked this one bc I wanted to take our with us and it had an indoor pool. I have emailed like the lady said. I have yet to hear back. I sincerely doubt that I will. I’m just disgusted. Book at your own risk and if nothing else, check your bedding Oh, and only 1 staff member wore a mask, though it did not cover her nose. No one else except guests wore masks.…
The Inn in which I stayed was very clean and inviting. The staff including the Front Desk Staff and the Housekeeping Staff were very gracious. All in all, I had a very good experience at this La Quinta Inn.
I want to start this comment off by saying this is probably my 4th review I’ve ever written and my first ever bad review. I am not one of those people who complains about little things. With that being said- this is by far the grossest hotel I have ever stayed at. Beyond the current construction, the hotel is a complete dump. Walking down the halls, I was nervous to see what our room would look like. Got to our room and there are stains EVERYWHERE all over the carpet and walls. Random weird stains and hairs on the towels and bedding. Like weird orange stains on the sheets?? and so many human head hairs!!! Clearly not washed or changed. There is random scotch tape holding things into place. The whole place smells dirty and Smokey. I’m honestly appalled. Hope our room was the worst of it because ... woof...…
