The Views Oásis garners admiration for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse entertainment, which includes live music and traditional dancers, all set within its modern, immaculate premises. Guests appreciate the spacious rooms with stunning sea views, though some suggest improvements for in-room amenities. While opinions on value show a divide, with some guests questioning the extra costs, the hotel's location is universally lauded for its tranquility, beach proximity, and scenic vistas. We (a young couple) spent 12 nights in this hotel with half board. Our vacation consisted mainly of excursions and booked activities. This is exactly what the island and the hotel are well suited for. We therefore spent most of our time in the hotel eating breakfast, dinner and sleeping.
The hotel has an outdoor and indoor pool. We only used the outdoor pool, which was mostly almost empty.
There is also an extra room in the hotel that has a wide variety of sports equipment. This gym is well equipped (with all types of weights and modern TechnoGym sports equipment) and was hardly used.
It is also possible to book all activities and excursions at reception. This should also be used, as the hotel has information that you would not otherwise have. The excursions all include hotel pick-up.
The buffet (whether in the morning or in the evening) was well worth it for us. In the evening there were always 11 hot dishes. At least 3 of these were vegetarian. In the evenings, you could also indulge in the cold starter and cake/ice cream buffet, which we really enjoyed. With this selection, even fussy guests should be able to find something 😅. The food changes every week (for example, typical Madeiran food, typical Portuguese food, Italian, etc.).
We would also like to say that all of the staff were very polite and funny. We were always helped immediately with questions or requests, for which we are very grateful. Whether it was waiters or receptionists, everyone wanted us to be happy.
We have hardly any complaints about the cleaning and hygiene of the hotel. The room was clean and was cleaned at the times we requested (if you state that you do not want cleaning on certain days, you can save €3 per day). The "public" toilets were just as clean.
We also found it very helpful that there is a hotel bus to Funchal every Monday to Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the public bus can be used practically right outside the front door (number: 155; price per person to Funchal: €2.20). Journey time around 30 minutes.

We would still like to point out that we noticed that we cannot imagine a holiday here with small children (3-8 years) because, in our opinion, there is too little child-friendly food and entertainment available. But every family has to judge this for themselves. Of course, we were there outside of the "children's season", which is why we cannot judge what the children's entertainment looks like in this season.
We also noticed that the cushions for the loungers by the pool are a bit dirty (we got around this by using bath towels, of which the hotel provides one free per person for the entire stay; if you want to change it, it costs €1).
Small points of criticism, which are individual and "complaining at a high level", would be the decor of the restaurant. Firstly, there are not enough tables outside (you have to be lucky or quick if you want to eat dinner outside), and the interior of the restaurant is cold and expressionless, with the exception of special occasions such as the day when they served typical Madeiran food.

We would like to thank you for a lovely holiday and look forward to coming back in a few years!

The Views Oasis is a wonderful, welcoming and relaxing hotel. This is not only due to the excellent facilities but also the friendly, helpful and attentive staff.

The hotel has two pools ( indoor and outdoor) and are kept tidy and with regular monitoring. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and when we arrived smelt fresh and clean. We chose a room with partial sea-view which was good but being on the East side of the hotel rarely got any sun. They are regularly serviced, though while we were staying you could surrender some servicing days for €3.00/day deduction from your checkout bill. This is all part of the Hotels commitment to reducing their environmental impact and something we were aware of throughout all of Madeira.

Breakfast was an excellent buffet with a wide choice, fruit, cereals, cheeses and bread were all on offer. There was a cooked breakfast though not exactly "English" it was perfectly acceptable, in addition omelettes can be cooked to order.

The pubic areas were comfortable and stylish though they could get crowded with tour operators giving talks. There was evening entertainment in the bar area; it could be loud and that did extend to the reception seating area up stairs making it difficult to find a place for a quiet drink after Dinner.

There is very little to see in the local area and Hotel runs a courtesy bus into Funchal but this needed to be booked in advance. Alternatively there was a local bus stop just outside the Hotel which offered a fairly regular alternative.

Outside the Hotel there are few bars and restaurants that offer good food and drinks but you have to be prepared to walk on uneven and often steep footpaths.

We enjoyed our stay at the Views Oasis and would consider staying there again.

We had a marvelous 2 weeks holiday, 15th to 29th December Bed and Breakfast at The Views Oasis via Jet2. A few days before departure, I emailed the hotel and asked if a surprise bouquet of flowers of a set value could be delivered to our room on my wife's 60th birthday,, I said I would pay on arrival. I also asked if our seaview room could benefit from the evening sunshine. The hotels response was brilliant, on arrival we were given room 132 and found our balcony had sunshine from mid morning till sunset.A few days later, at the very helpful reception, I paid for the flowers and they were placed in our room the following morning, whilst we were at breakfast. The buffet breakfasts were varied, plentiful, fresh and delicious, from coffee, tea, fruit juices, cereals and fruits, to hot bacon, sausages, eggs, beans and bespoke show cooked omelettes to breads, pasties, toast and preserves, cold meats, cheese, salads, yogurts and fresh fruits. On returning to our room a complimentary bottle of sparkly on ice with champagne flutes were placed on the desk along with the flowers beautifully displayed in a glass vase. ( Previously, reception informed me the hotel would arrange as a surprise for my wife, a bottle of sparkly in our room and although we were B&B a complimentary evening meal in the restaurant.)
We had a birthday toast, then took the free hotel shuttle bus into Funchal to visit Blandys wine lodge museum, for a tour and tasting of Madeira wine (15 euros pp).
Later we went down to the restaurant, my wife was welcomed with beaming smiles and birthday wishes, we were shown to a specially dressed table overlooking the pool. We had delicious food and wine and then the restaurant staff emerged from the kitchen singing Happy Birthday and carrying a special decorated cake. To round off a fantastic day we went to the bar for a relaxing drink and enjoy the evening show, during our 2 week stay there were singers, keyboard/vocalists, magician, puppeteer, folk dancers all very good holiday entertainment.
The Christmas Eve Gala meal with drinks + Christmas Day meal were superb and well worth the combined price of 95 euros pp.
We booked The Nuns Valley tour via Jet2 rep, stunning views, and Funchal Christmas Lights with the hotel, fantastic displays.
The hotel inside was spotless, the pool area and the gardens were well maintained.
Our room was cleaned every day except Christmas Day and all the cleaning staff were cheerful.
Special thanks to Ivone and reception staff and Paulo and the restaurant staff for helping to make our stay in Madiera one we will never forget.

Would I book this hotel again? YES
Would I recommend to a friend YES

Very nice hotel below Caniço. A bus stop is located opposite.
The little cove is very nice even if there is no sunset.
The rooms are large and clean and the bedding is comfortable. Be careful if you ask for a child's bed, the mattress will be very thin and springy.
And also note this is not a French 4*! There is no toothbrush or iron in the room.
The hotel has a heated indoor swimming pool and a sauna for up to 2 or 3 people.
The hammam did not work nor the jet shower too bad.
The massages are very good, I recommend!
The gym is small but does the job.
The outdoor swimming pool is large and the paddling pool is shallow. On the other hand, the deckchairs are not very well positioned in relation to the paddling pool: you risk not seeing your child if you don't stay with them!
There are enough deckchairs.
Towels offered by the hotel can be used in these areas.
There is a souvenir shop and a hairdresser in the hotel and the possibility of mailing postcards!
For meals, there are pretty nice and varied themed buffets. There is something for everyone: meat, fish, vegetarian… and even a “children’s” corner.
Breakfast is also a buffet, there is a gluten-free and lactose-free area.
For the noise: there was indeed work in the hotel but it's really not a problem and in addition you have the possibility of being rehoused during the period and the hotel offers as compensation a free lunch and open bar from 8 p.m.
There is also the possibility of attending evening entertainment which is very nice (folk dances, magician, etc.) obviously it makes noise but at 11 p.m. maximum it is over and the hotel becomes quiet.
Finally, this hotel actually offers not to do cleaning every day and in compensation gives a 3€ voucher to use at the hotel or to reduce your bill for each day of cleaning not taken.
The only real problem is the parking spaces which are few and very narrow, which is a problem. But you can park in the blue spaces (it is tolerated free of charge until May 1st after which it is chargeable however)...

The hotel facilities and room were lovely. We booked a package with Jet2 holidays and we had half-board catering which includes breakfast and dinner. No drinks were included with dinner but that was fine because my partner and I prefer water with our meal. When we asked for tap water (which I read was safe to drink in Madeira) they refused and say we must buy a €3.75 bottle of water. Now when I checked online the AHRESP organisation for Portugal says it is mandatory that anywhere in Portugal provides free tap water. We were refused. We asked if we could bring in small bottles we had already purchased and we were not allowed. Essentially being forced to pay for a drink each night with our meal. Ridiculous given the price we paid for this holiday. Apart from this and the construction noises in the morning, everything else was great. Just be prepared if you also have a half-board holiday booked…

We understand your concerns regarding the water policy during dinner. While we aim to offer a high standard of service, we also respect local laws and guidelines. We really enjoyed our time at the Four Views Hotel, we were greeted and checked in with ease and all the reception staff were very helpful. All of the team from cleaners, bar staff, restaurant, and reception were great.

We had a sea view room however most of the view was from the rooftop of the building in front. Despite this, the room had enough space was spotless and comfortable.

We were half board and for breakfast and dinner there was a wide choice, the restaurant staff were v.helpful and there was enough variety that over 10 days we were never bored of the options available!

We traveled with our young kids and Anna & Ariel were very good with the children. We can't speak highly enough of them both! There were kid's activities from 10 -11 and sometimes 3-4, the pool is a saltwater pool but very clean and big enough to fully enjoy being poolside.

The only improvement I would make would be for the evening entertainment to be more enticing. The children's evening entertainment was too late in the evening. The singers were rather tame and the on the night where there was a DJ he wasn't able to get a party atmosphere going.

With regards to the location, the waterpark is a short cab ride away, the closest sandy beach is a 20 min cab journey and Funchal is around 15 mins away.

We (me, wife, and 4 year old) stayed here for 7 nights the last week of July 2024. The hotel was excellent; great location about a ten min drive from the airport.

The room was spacious and comfortable - good sound proofing. There is an option when to use the room cleaning service. On days you don’t use it you are refunded some money. It’s all to do with the hotel meeting its environment obligations etc.

On booking in there is a tourist tax. I had no problem with this and indeed expected it. Wish we had it here in Glasgow.

The reception staff are very helpful and friendly.

We had no problem getting a sun-bed each day although on windy days there is a rule about no umbrellas up.

Can’t really speak to the food as we only had breakfast which was a tad standard. The food at the pool bar was excellent. There are a couple of places nearby you can eat however the walks are very hilly!

The hotel sits on the front which is great for evening walks to enjoy the sunset etc. we found the locals very friendly and the place in general very safe for young families.

The hotel runs a complimentary bus into Funchal on weekdays which I would recommend. Please note it is very sharp so be there in plenty of time.

All in we had a great time and would defo go back.

The hotel was welcoming and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly , especially the head waiter Paul. Room 417 had a lovely sea view. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The balcony was narrow with just enough room for a small table and 2 chairs. There was a kettle and fridge, TV , air con etc.
In the self service restaurant the food was good, with lots of choice of fresh fruit and salad, cheeses and cooked eggs, bacon, etc at breakfast and also lots of choice of meat, fish, salads and vegetables at dinner, and lots of choice of puddings. For the all inclusive option, the lunch options at the pool bar were from a small menu but most options were included, 2 soups, some salads, some toasted sandwiches, some grilled meats including steak and chicken and burgers, and the portions were good. Pudding at lunch was limited to fruit salad or one cake each day and only cornettos and ice lollies. The selection of drinks was good but local cider would have been a good addition, and more non alcoholic options would have been welcome.
On two evenings through the week there was an a la carte option, one for fish lovers, one for meat. We had the a la carte fish lovers dinner, which included a set amuse bouch and soup, then a choice of about 6 fish dishes, and a choice of 2 puddings. Service and presentation were good. The evening entertainment was good and varied, with excellent and memorable guitarists, drummer and violinist one evening and another evening a magician who engaged well with the children in the audience.
The public areas were bright and airy and the outside pool area was spotless and spacious, with beautiful sea views and the sound of the breaking waves as a background. The indoor pool area and spa were very warm and clean. The gardens are well kept, with a small herb and vegetable garden. Outside the hotel there is a promenade leading to a pebbled beach area used for swimming, diving and wind surfing with two cafes. In the other direction the walk was less scenic and soon left the shore to go through a built up area leading steeply uphill eventually reaching Caniço. The local bus stopped just outside the hotel and stopped at Caniço and other places and took 45 minutes to reach Funchal. Bus fare 2.20 euros each way. Some day trips went from the hotel.
Although checkout was at noon we were made welcome and as all inclusive guests still got lunch and drinks until we left in the evening.
Overall the experience was good and very peaceful and we were happy with our stay. The building work was minimal and did not impact our stay at all.

What a lovely hotel !!

Quick check in which is at 3pm onwards . Our room wasn’t ready as we arrived early but we just strolled round the hotel and chilled by the pool with a drink

The rooms are very clean . Beds are so comfortable we had a great sleep. There is a pillow menu too !

The rooms can get a bit warm at night but we opened the patio door and there was a welcome breeze with the sound of the waves - bliss !!!

The food was of good quality at breakfast and dinner with lots of choice . We chose the 3 night dinner option which is definitely worth it. The hotel does theme nights at dinner .
There wasn’t many restaurants around that we fancied.

All the staff were very polite and work extremely hard to make your stay enjoyable.

We used the local bus which was just under 6 Euros for 2 people . The stop is right across from the hotel .

obrigado to all the staff ! Amazing team we will return . Sergio on reception is very knowledgeable on the local tourist spots and takes the time to chat to guests

When we arrived in Madeira airport the jet 2 staff were really good and our journey to the hotel was all planned out very well. We got to the hotel an hour before checking in, the woman at the reception told us to use the facilities and come back at 2pm to go up to our room. Me and my boyfriend had been up since 3am so we were both hungry and grabbed some lunch at the hotel. We booked the hotel as half board which on the website explained we were entitled to 2 meals a day. As we had lunch , the woman who served us sounded very cross and angry and we explained that we aren’t sure whats going on and asked if we could have some lunch. We then got stared on whilst eating which made us feel very uncomfortable. Me and my boyfriend both had a spoon full of pasta and 2 slices of bread on our plate and was then charged 19 euros each for this. This was a bad start. The woman in reception then explained to us that we can only have breakfast and tea , which is fine but wished they had told us this earlier and for the staff in the restaurant not to be rude.

On the positive not the rooms are very clean and plenty of space. We also had a lovely view from the balcony looking out at the sea. There was a lovely bar man called Leonardo that we chatted to, and he helped us recommending with what cocktails to have and also what activities we could do in the town. There was a bus that picked us up from the hotel to the town, and back, this was very helpful as we were unfamiliar with the area.

On the negative side the cleaner keeps putting a bottle of water in our room, which is nice but expecting us to pay. We didn’t get any drinks included in our stay and everything goes on a tab so we can’t keep updated with how much money we spent or how much we have left .Food in the hotel is not at a high standard at all. I understand there are hundreds of people staying but the food wasn’t nice. The meal on the first night made me very ill and vomiting. This has made us eat out which we have to spend more money. Not all the food have labels or signs saying what they are and I strongly believe it should. I don’t eat any seafood and because some meat didn’t have any labels I couldn’t eat it in case I was ill. I did ask a few members of staff what meat was what but some didn’t understand me or some replied in Portuguese, so there was a language barrier. The entertainment isn’t great here with not much of an atmosphere. I would recommend it for a family with children but as a young couple here , nothing really catches our eyes. The pubs and bars here are quite far so you would have to pay around 25 euros there and another 25 euros to come back , which isn’t worth it.
Indoor pool - has time slots for children and adults to be separate, but everytime we went (adult time only) there were children there unsupervised and were shouting and splashing everyone, so this wasn’t much of a chill time for us adults

All together it was a beautiful location on a stunning island with walking distance from cafe, shops and restaurants. Just a shame about the other things I mentioned. Would come to Madeira again but not to the hotel.

We were in a superior room and yes. Bottles of handwash and body cream by the sink and bottles of shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in the shower. There were also some small bars of soap and other shower gels in little bottles that we didn't use.

A few but all a walking distance away. If you have a look on Trip Advisor restaurants in Canico you will see them. We always go All Inclusive. Food is really good.

If you email the hotel they should let you know about the building work. The buffet was not open during lunch but another couple on all inclusive told us that if there is an event on including a buffet they could join it. There was only one such event during our week and no one informed us of that. At lunchtime we ate in the poolside bar which had a good menu for savouries, very limited puddings : a daily cake and a choice of cornettos or ice lollies.
