We stayed at this hotel as part of a student tour group.
If your main priority is to be close to the sea, then this is the hotel for you. However, Hotel Rex is definitely showing its age. Though the hotel room was clean and we had a great view of the sea from our patio, our room was quite cramped. We had to move the small tv (no remote) from the dresser in order to find a place for my suitcase. The bed was comfortable enough. There was very little space for anything in the room other than our beds and the small side tables.
Our bathroom was quite big. But we had no hot water for our sink. None. You would turn on the hot water and nothing would come out. In order to have warm water in the shower, we had to run it for about 15 minutes before it would heat up.
Though you still have to carry your luggage up at least one flight of stairs, there is an elevator. The elevator was only on every other floor. For instance, we were on the top floor, but the elevator went to the floor beneath us. Also, it fits maximum two people with their luggage. We ended up carrying our luggage up the 4 flights rather than waiting for it.
Wifi is only available in the lobby.
Dinner and breakfast were included in our package. The dinner was adequate but nothing special. The breakfast was also adequate. Sadly, of all the hotels we stayed at during our 10-day tour, the breakfast and dinner at the Italian hotel were the least impressive. On the plus side, the servers in the restaurant were very accommodating for our traveler who was vegan.
This is definitely a budget hotel. If you're only looking for a place to sleep, then I think this place will suffice. If you're looking for a little luxury, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

We travel with EF tours. We were a big school group. In march on the beach is not the best place to be if you are willing to be near Venezia. The hotel has a very good breakfast and all dinner is homemade so it is very convenient when everything else is closed around the area. It was low season. The rooms are very small and no much to describe. Bathrooms very dated and so tiny that when you shower you wet everything including the toilet. It was ok but not to go with a couple in a romantic trip.

After being in this hotel previously it has now changed owners returned this year for 3 days over the Easter weekend , and the hotel is clean, comfortable and very well kept.
the hotel is in a good location and within eay reach of all amenities.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting. The location is perfect right left to the beach, they even had the beach chairs reserved for us! The food was amazing for breakfast,lunch and dinner! If you are coming to this city you have to stay here! You will not regret it!

My family and I stayed the first 2 weeks of July.
I must say that we had a great time, the food was excellent, both in quantity and quantity and the sincere and helpful staff.
The rooms are large enough and the lifeguard is new, with very capacious shower.

The balcony was good but the room was very small given that there were 4 of us, our suitcases were opened after we returned from an outing when the air conditioning was not working as well as the fan.
