Excellent hotel to stay some days in Citta di Castello. A special location with a nice helpful staff. A fantastic meal was served in the hotel restaurant. I highly recommend and hope to be back soon!!!

A lovely hotel with a very helpful staff. A beautiful meal was served in the hotel restaurant. The hotel overlooks a small square with a small and welcoming bar. The bedroom was very comfortable though the noise in the adjoining street would upset many (didn’t bother me).

Another few days staying at the Tiferno Hotel in Città di Castello. A perfect location for visiting this lovely city on vacation, or for me a great business stop over; lovely rooms, great staff, restaurants and bars a short stroll away. Highly recommended!

I spent a week in this hotel as part of an organised trip, (so can't comment on the price/value) and felt it was an excellent choice. It's in a quiet square, within a very short walk of the coach park and the centre, with a convenient supermarket just around the corner. The atmosphere is cool and tranquil, with beautifully furnished common spaces. My room was not in the main building, which was an advantage on the night of a festival, as some members of the group who had rooms directly overlooking the square were bothered by the noise, while I heard nothing once the windows and shutter were closed. The air-conditioning was efficient. The whole place was scrupulously clean, and the room maid did an excellent job. I had a leaky shower, which leaked more as the week went on, but I didn't report it at the time simply because our tour programme was so full that I didn't have the time to think about it once out of the shower! Breakfast was good enough, though not exceptional, except for some delicious cakes, light and not over-sweet. There were hard-boiled eggs, different cold meats and tomatoes, but no hot dishes such as scrambled eggs or bacon/local sausages, or local honeys or jams. Gluten free bread was available. There is a big difference between four star hotels in different regions of Italy, but that is reflected in the price of rooms. I have stayed in 4 star hotels with amazing breakfasts and facilities, but these are much more expensive hotels. The star system is not consistent from region to region. We had two evening meals in the hotel, and I found the food good quality, well prepared, tasty and very plentiful. A couple of dishes were over salted, but I believe our tour leader had a word with the management and the second meal was fine. All the staff were very courteous and helpful. If I had the opportunity to stay in Città di Castello again I would happily stay at this hotel. I'm surprised at the negative review by a member of a Saga tour. Why doesn't trip advisor provide an option for 'organised tour' under what sort of trip was this, as that section has to be answered?

The Hotel is in an amazing building. My room and bathroom had a volted ceiling! There is artwork in the common spaces and it’s like stepping into a different time period. However, the amenities are very modern. The breakfast buffet had an amazing selection of food. Rooms were spotless. The personnel is very courteous and efficient. The location was super convey. I highly recommend the place!
