My husband and I enjoyed 3 blissful nights at Villa Bordoni, staying in the montefioralle room. It is by far one of favorite hotels - for the beauty of the villa, the gorgeous view and the first class service. The staff was incredible, and the food and wine at the restaurant was fantastic. Ricardo who managed the Villa during our stay was especially helpful and made our time at Villa Bordoni extra special. We look forward to our return to Italy and Villa Bordoni!
I have stayed here 5 times in the last 8 years, and in 4 of their luring the suite. Let me start by saying that the drive of 2.5 kms to the Villa Bordoni is slightly challenging, but so charming, rural and genuinely in touch with the landscape as to be part of the charm of staying here. Set amide lush olive groves and surrounded by spectacular vineyards, the hotel epitomizes and exudes the qualities many seek in such an area. There are only( I believe) 11 rooms, each with their own character, but all furnished and equipped to a high standard and in keeping with the concept of what such a hotel should be. Montefioralle, their so-called Honeymoon room, IS the best room....biggest,with large clawfoot bathtub at the foot of the bed and below the big flatscreen tv. There are 2 large windows opening onto a landscape the Romans would recognize and admire.. The large bathroom has a separate walk in tiled shower with varied jets, as well as a dual vanity, with 2 small windows also affording lovely views. Food at Villa Bordoni is a passion. There is a restricted but excellent menu, with a willingness to be flexible as required. The food is delicious, served in the right portions, and is reasonably priced. Dining is usually on the terrace or in the garden, though there is a small and charming dining room for inclement weather. I have seen numerous people from outside drive up for dinner! Owners David and Catherine Gardner have poured their heart and soul into Villa Bordoni and are tremendously to be admired for what they have achieved here. They are usually on site and are very hands on ,enjoying banter with the guests and ensuring everything works as it should. Riccardo the manager is a treasure, and very reliable when needed. In short, this is one of my favourite hotels in the world to stay in, and I always look forward to a speedy return. Go there and fall under its spell!…
Spent two nights at Villa Bordoni last week. We were the only guests because of the fear of traveling to Italy. Chianti has had no outbreaks and we felt very safe. Catherine and David are amazing hosts and the Villa is gorgeous. Hugo took wonderful care of us and we had a cooking class with Chef which was also fantastic. The restaurant wonderful!! If you are hesitating going now, know that that area has been very safe. We cannot wait to return. Thank you to everyone for your gracious hospitality! We wish you all well!!
I was traveling from Florence for two nights and am so happy to of found this wonderful property. Stayed over Thanksgiving, took a cooking class and wine tours the next day. The property, management, restaurant and overall experience truly felt magical. Would return in a heartbeat!
We stayed here for 4 days and our trip to Greve was the highlight of our Tuscan stay. The staff went over and beyond for us.. The food is FANTASTIC, and the breakfast was very nice. Our favorite was the wine tasting in the cellar. Leading up to the trip, the staff was so helpful with coordinating tours for us with some of the vineyards.
