This typical stone-built Tuscan farmhouse, completely renovated, is only 5 km from the town of Greve in Chianti and is the perfect base for anyone who wishes to visit the great art cities of Tuscany and the medieval villages of Chianti, or for those who prefer walking or excursions on mountain bikes, or for those who want to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the countryside. On the first floor of the house there are 6 bedrooms with bathroom, each one finely furnished with great attention to every detail. The splendid ceilings with wood beams and terracotta tiles, the windows which offer beautiful views of the garden, the vines and the hills make this house special. There is a large dining room with a fireplace where we serve breakfast. There is also a kitchen for the use of the guests of the B&B.Le Cetinelle’s position is indeed special, on a hill-top away from the crowds, 620m above sea-level. Our guests can relax in the lovely flower garden which surrounds the house, where tables, chairs and hammocks are at the disposal of all the guests. The saltwater pool has spectacular views over the vines, the olive groves, the hills and as far as Florence itself, particularly beautiful at sunset. Guests can sample the farm’s products – wine and olive oil.

Detailed Reviews
We have had a truly enjoyable stay..
The house and garden and swimming pool are absolutely beautiful and well kept. Breakfast was ample and some of the food was homemade, like jam and yogurt. The symbol of the roosters (Gallo Nero, Black Rooster), symbol of the wines of Chianti, is a theme that have been employed and it creates an aura of rustic charm and grace. The warm hospitality is truly the final word.
Simona and Luca make their own excellent wine and olive oil.
If we are ever so lucky to be in Tuscany again, we would definitely visit La Centinelle again.

Beautiful spot. Delicious breakfasts of local produce, eaten outside in nice surroundings overlooking the vineyard. Very pleasant hosts. Swimming pool area is crisp and has great views: we often had it to ourselves. Wonderful place to relax and to use as a base for exploring.

Wonderful. Near so many other interesting places besides Greve. The facility is idyllic as we spent breakfast
time outside under the pavilion and we spent evening time just sitting around table inside kitchen with a great bottle of their wine. Little out of the way, but still recommended.

It was magical! From the delightful property, to the beautiful inside with well kept bedrooms, each with bath, to the kitchen where not only is a delightful breakfast is served. but also a place for sitting in the evening and enjoying a bottle of local wine, to the swimming pool, and to the amazing hosts Simone and Luca; it was wonderful!! We stayed 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Charming Greve is close by car and offers some nice restaurants and shops. Would definitely return!!

Perfect place to get relaxed in the middle if Chianti. Simonetta and Luca were helpful and welcoming with us. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed breakfast with the wine yard view. Perfect location to explore Chianti (cycling, horse riding and wine tasting). Recommended!

We were a little wary at first after heading up the gravel road, thinking we should have stayed in Florence after all, but we certainly were rewarded for leaving the city! An amazing place with heavenly little spots for a picnic or reading a book.
Great kitchen facilities - there's nothing like cooking up pasta in a Tuscan farmhouse kitchen! Good breakfast and very friendly owners (and dog!).
The pool was wonderful after a hot day exploring the region although a fraction cold. No soap in the bathroom - but amazing bathroom! Very modern.
Excellent value for money.

We shortened our stay at this B&B due to no air con / fan (essential when it's late 30's & indoors is hotter than outside & lack of close facilities.
The 5km journey from Greve is very difficult & off putting but a neccessary evil if one wants 2 eat. Breakfast was poor & it was only on the second morning that we were informed that there was also cereal & ham.
We requested a room change but on refusal we identified another hotel. When we informed the owner instead of trying to help us she promptly asked for full payment for 5 days.
This has put a dampener on our honeymoon.

Response from smo64, Proprietario at Le Cetinelle
Responded Sep 10, 2011
I'm sorry to hear you weren't happy at Le Cetinelle, and especially that you did not notice the breakfast supplies until your second morning. We go to some trouble to provide a tasty breakfast for our B&B guests. Air conditioning is rare even in hotels in Tuscany, and almost non-existent in small agriturismi. Everything we provide is carefully listed on our web site and air conditioning is not listed there. Our location high in the Chianti hills means that we always have significantly cooler temperatures than in the valleys and towns. We could not give you another room because they were all full otherwise of course we would have done so. As with other agriturismi, we are by definition in the country where gravel roads are common. We clearly state on our website that we are accessed along a 4 km gravel road. The road is well-maintained and easy to navigate. We are not a hotel with walk-in trade, so you need to understand that if you decide to leave early, we have no chance of finding replacements. That's why we state on our web site that cancellations of less than 72 hours prior to arrival or no-shows call for full payment. That's standard practice for agriturismi. Regards Simonetta

+1
A lovely tuscan farmhouse with 6 guest rooms and one apartment. We were welcomed by Simonetta and Luca who own and operate this centuries old Tuscan Agraturismo. The room we had, a triple, was spacious and had a beautiful bath. The grounds are lovely with thier Olive and Grape orchard in the heart of Chianti. The swimming pool is large enough to relax and even exercise. Daily maid services were provided (but bring your own soap and shampoo) and breakfast was simple but good (sweet roll, bread and homemade preserves, cereal and coffee). Day trips to Florence and Sienna are easy from here but spend some time exploring the hill towns. We will definitely return.

Simonetta and Luca own a small piece of paradise about 5 kilometers above Greve. Best B and B experience in 15 years of trips to small towns in Italy. Nice large rooms. Clean large bathroom. Very nice central gathering area for breakfast, drink at sunset or the occasional dinner when cooking class has been preparing meal. Breakfast was fresh and good. Even had the elusive egg. This time soft boiled machine so you could cook eggs to your individual desire. They have olive orchards and vineyard. Both products very good. Simonetta speaks several languages including English and was very helpful in sending us to new restaurants and places to see, even though we had been to visiting Chianti for 15 years. Only place we will stay in the future. Try the cooking class she has with her good friend Kalinka. (Kalinka is a great chef and her husband owns probably the best restaurant in the area--Ristoro Lamole). The two spent an afternoon cooking with us and another couple from Canada. We then a had a wonderful dinner eating our work--bruschetta with her own tomatoes and olive oil, spinach and ricotta cheese filled homemade ravioli with butter and sage, chicken in hunter's style, vegetables and panna cotta with chocolate. One of our best meals in a 4 week trip to Italy and definitely the freshest. The grounds are beautiful set in the hills of Tuscany. A nice pool for warmer weather. You are out of town, up a road that is gravel/unpaved for last few kilometers which is a fun drive in the beautiful countryside. Came home late one night to hear the owls calling to each other.
All for a very very reasonable price.
