Stunning views. When arriving you get a tour with explanation. We stayed in the Galileo suite, which is huge and beautiful. Big communal area with fridge which feels like home. Only disadvantage was that another room took some of our drinks from the shared fridge although everything was marked with our name. When we caught them in the act they... More

What a spectacular place. Remote but still close to Grieve centre. Very tranquil and set in beautiful scenery. We booked a junior suite which was stunning, classic style decor with stunning views across the vine yards. Bed was so comfy & the shower was fab. Didn't want to leave! Pool location was perfect for the sun. On the day we... More

Lovely building and grounds right in the heart of Tuscany, with a private road through the winery. We arrived late to the hotel and the staff was very nice to wait for us, show the apartment Comiso de Medici, the pool area, garden and also made a reservation for the festive dinner: viola quartet and wine tasting paring with food.... We just finished a three night stay at this marvelous hotel in an ancient castle. The grounds and buildings are meticulously maintained. Especially enjoyable was the infinity pool overlooking Chianti. The room was spacious and very clean. We stayed in the Donatello room which is in the annex. Important to note that the annex building is air conditioned and the... More

Our introduction to Tuscany could not have been more amazing. Just a half hour outside of Florence down the beautiful Chiantigiana, we stayed in the old part of the castle. The room was huge and well appointed. The grounds and the pool were stunning. Views from the infinity pool were delightful. We booked a wine tasting tour that was informative... More

Pros At the reception area, you get sweeping views of the beautiful Chianti hills. Unbeatable vantage. We had no view from our room though. Really stunning property, you are staying in a castle! Cons Big tour buses. Be serious about the number of steep steps that you have to climb with your luggage to get to your room. I think... More

We had an amazing time Ines is an exceptional guide. We really enjoyed her story telling. The wine tasting was great we bought 5 bottles of wine to enjoy while we are holidaying Italy. The castle is a beautiful building I really want to go back and stay in the B&B one day. The extra virgin olive oil productions are... More

This may have been the highlight of our two week trip to Italy. We spent two nights at this winery and we took part in the Wednesday eve tour and dinner. The dinner was very good, and the wine was delicious. The service was fantastic. Our tour guide that eve was Ines. She was wonderful, very entertaining and informative about... More

If you really want to experience Tuscany, feel the history and experience the beauty of the countryside and vineyards, this is the place! We had two apartments and one suite for the 5 of us. Each place was a special experience. It was unique, charming, rustic-in-a-good-way. The apartments were HUGE, with a beautiful fireplace, small kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom.... More

Time spent here was the most relaxing of you 13 day long honeymoon. We reached here by taxi from florence. A bite expensive as no other direct transport is available. However, my husband and I spent two nights at Castello Vicchiomaggio and wish we could have spent more time there! We absolutely loved it. The views were breathtaking and the... More
