If you are looking for a rural, Tuscan Villa Farmhouse, that’s frozen in time, submerged in the heart of Chianti, with a spectacular view of the countryside, then this Villa is for you.

Villa Stefano, sits on a secluded Tuscan hilltop, surrounded by olive tree groves and vineyards. It’s a good mile from the nearest paved road. However, the drive up to the villa is well worth the bumpy drive.

The villa itself is surrounded by a very small village owned entirely by the Stefano Family, which to this day, still produces its own wine and olive oil.
The house was built in the mid to
late 1880’s. It consist of 7 bedrooms, all located on the 2nd floor, with at least 6 having air conditioning, (very important in the hot summer months), 3 and a half updated bathrooms, 2 upstairs and the others downstairs, a large working kitchen and plenty of sitting areas. None of the bedrooms have a private bath. The furniture and decorations are that of a typical 19th century farmhouse. If not for the flat screen TV in the family room, you would think that you are still back in the 1800’s. The great living and dinning rooms downstairs do not have AC. However, that is typical of any Tuscan Villa. The home and gardens are well maintained and kept clean.

As to the backyard, this is where you will soak up that Tuscan experience. Photos do no justice. It has a pool with lounge chairs facing the spectacular countryside. A long table which sits about 16 people is directly behind the home and is covered by a bamboo top with interwinding vines. You will want to spend the entire time sitting back here having your meals and or having your wine and cheese.

Elena, the owner, and her staff, were extremely attentive to all of our needs.
They prepared breakfast for us every morning and a dinner on the night of our arrival. The food was excellent and very reasonable. You will really feel as if you’re a guest in the Stefano home.

This is a wonderful retreat not far from Greve, but it gives you the feeling of being up in the clouds! Elena and her staff are very friendly and go overboard to make you feel welcome and take care of your needs. We have been purchasing wine and olive oil from them for at least 6 years and have never received any shipments that were damaged. The wine and olive oil from Santo Stefano are top quality and we won't buy olive oil anywhere else. Do yourself a favor and drop by this little bit of paradise.

Elena is absolutely the best! We were made to feel like part of her family while here. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The breakfast is served at a decent hour and not at the break of dawn like some other places. We will be sure to stay here again!

Have taken two cooking classes with Elena- once in 2013 and again in 2022 with my daughters family and my sister and her husband. There were 9 of us ages -14-72 and everyone participated and enjoyed the experience. Elena is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet and it is inspiring to see the pride and passion she puts into her cooking. Being served the dinner you have helped prepare at a table overlooking Tuscany at sunset is truly a moment you will never forget.

I stayed at the large villa here for a week as part of a larger family group. Overall it was a wonderful Tuscan countryside experience. But it is so much more than just place to stay.

I'll start with the hosts, especially Elana. She is a wonderful, welcoming and hardworking woman. The whole team really makes you feel like you are a part of a Tuscan family.

There are many additional activities that you can do with or without staying in the villa or apartments. However, combining independence of a villa stay with some of the amenities they offer can really develop the experience.

For example, one night Elana and her family made and served us dinner in the villa (at the outside table). Even though we had a full kitchen, it was great to simply relax and enjoy the stunning Tuscan countryside view with excellent wine and a locally sourced feast!

We also took a very fun cooking class with the Elanas. They treated us like family and let us get our hands dirty. We made a vegetable lasagna, fried zucchini flowers, saltimbica skewers, Swiss chard cups, and more.

They also have an excellent vineyard and wine. The wine was really excellent. Their chianti riserva, called Drugo, exemplifies the genre. They also have a grand selezionne chianti, which is difficult to achieve and we'll deserved. Take a tour of their vineyard and do a tasting.

In short, this Agriturismo is a great way to mix amenities of a hotel (eg they offer breakfast in the morning) with a self serve villa or apartment stay. Rustic, peaceful, relaxing, and delusions. The views cannot be beat.

Amazing tour and history. Off the beaten track a bit but worth the drive. The tour of the winery and hillside olive groves included a selection of wines and small bites that were delicious. The owner and family were gracious and demonstrated the resiliency of the fattoria over the years. Fabulous businesswoman and justifiably proud of their heritage.

The surroundings are hardly describable. On a mountain top, among vineyards and olive trees is the cosy Fattoria Santo Stefano. With a staff who is always welcoming, helpful and smiling. We spent 10 days at this lovely place, where several long table dinners were served for the whole family in the best Italian style. In addition, there was covered up to a lovely breakfast every day with coffee, tea, juice, omelet, croissant, yogurt etc.
The apartments are charming and cool on hot days. From the shower one could stand and look out the window, beyond the mountains. In the evening was the most beautiful sunset.
I would highly recommend Santo Stefano to anyone considering a stay in Tuscany.

Beautiful agriturismo accommodation. Apartment looked neat and fully equipped. Kitchen utensils are sufficiently available. Beds and mattress do not have high expectations. It sleeps reasonably well. Bathroom needs renovation. Breakfast is simple, delicious cappuccino, only yogurt is not cold. Nutella mega large jar was dried out. The theme evening was a wonderful evening with music, wine and food.
Change of towels on request, no change of sheets in the meantime

I could not have chosen a better place to spent my 70th birthday that we cerebrated with family and friends over 3 weeks. Beautiful place, good wine, Devine olive oil, but most of all the people working there. Always with a smile, wanting to help if needed. Endless stream of cappuccino’s at breakfast, the pool cleaned every day, gorgeous sunsets, cooking class or prepared dinners etc etc. Greve close by.. spacious appartements with great views.. I will be back next year..
Thank you Elena and staff.

We had a fantastic 10 days at Santo Stefano together with family and friends. The place is very beautiful with views over the vineyards and olive trees, which in addition become really delicious wine and oil. The whole staff was extremely sweet and helpful, always with a big smile. Great Recommendation.
