We stayed in room 15 for 4 nights of our honeymoon. Amazing property, two pools (one adult only infinity pool and one family friendly pool), delicious restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. We did the vineyard tour/sunset dinner and also the cooking class, and both were phenomenal experiences that were very reasonably priced. Amazing experience-- possibly the best of our honeymoon....

An extraordinary experience, started with a warm welcoming at the reception, an amazing, very romantic and with a breathtaking view on the Chianti hills. Strongly recommended a visit to their spa. Absolutely to die for their restaurant. They all spoiled us at the point to cancel our visit to Siena, it was a pity to leave this amazing Villa. The...

Highly recommend, very relaxing, helpful staff, good food and wine, mesmerizing scenery, clean and great facilities. Staff are very knowledgable, in particular waitress who was happy to tell us about the history of the estate. This place was the home of Leonardo Da Vinci for two years where he began painting the Mona Lisa. Very inspirational place.

We had a two night and the only downside was that we wished we had stayed longer! Staying in apartment 7 was just perfect. Good sized rooms, well furnished and equipped. It was my husbands birthday and they had left a complimentary bottle of wine and birthday wishes for him in the room when we arrived - this was a...

We spent a blissful weekend at this beautiful property with an astounding view of the rolling hills of the Chianti area... lovely manicured Italian gardens.. outstanding pool & grounds. We stayed in the main villa (over 300 years old, I believe) with original wooden beams and stone flooring, though updated with all modern facilities... The wine as well as the...

Our family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed here for 2 nights in the main villa. We had two rooms beside each other and both rooms were very large and spacious. The garden and pools were great and we loved that the restaurant used the villa's fresh vegetables and herbs in all of the meals. The meals were...

As great fans of "Much Ado About Nothing", my wife and I had visited Vignamaggio two years ago; primarily to experience "the set" but also to partake of the excellent wine tour with lunch. We were determined to return and stay - and so we have. For four days we stayed in the Leonardo Suite in the main Villa; a...

Dear Mike, thank you for your review and for your kind words. We're happy to know that our guests still appreciate the movie, which is still inspiring us also for our renovation works. So don't be afraid: we're sure that the next time you'll appreciate Vignamaggio even more. In autumn the wooden structure you saw in the garden will be...

Vignamaggio breathes history in every part of the magnificent old mansion. We stayed in a comfortably quirky bedroom off a grand baronial hall with an adjoining library which we seemed to have to ourselves for four days. The restaurant in the main part of the Villa provides mouthwatering meals and excellent breakfasts are available. The swimming pool area and health...

Stayed here at the end of June. Room we had was absolutely incredible, food at the restaurant also brilliant. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Half way between Florence and Siena, the estate extends for over 200 hectares in the hills of the Chianti region. Vignamaggio overlooks a countryside landscape, of forests, vineyards and ancient hamlets scattered about on the surrounding hills. At the core of the farm is the Renaissance villa, surrounded by Italian style gardens, which fill the spaces between rows of cypresses, vines and olive trees. A working farm since 1404, Vignamaggio has been cultivating the vines and producing wine for over 600 years. Open to the public since 1987, the historical dwelling offers first class accommodation with rooms, suites and apartments in the estate's farmhouses. ... more   less
