As elsewhere in Sicily, a GPS might come in handy to find your accommodation if you’re on a self-driving tour. No, this guesthouse is not so easy to find. But after being greeted with a warm welcome, we were delighted by the place’s splendid location, offering a grand view onto the duomo and the entire village around it. We had... More

We arrived in person, without a reservation, as "refugees" from the horrible Agriturismo Gigliotto where we could not tolerate another night. Fabiana and Luisa were so helpful and kind, showing us the property. We booked right away, and the next three nights at La Casa became some of the best of our 16-day trip. "My home is your home" said... More

Nothing was too much trouble for our host Luciano. We arrived early pm a bit hungry and he insisted on serving us toasted sandwiches. Anything in the fridge was ours for the taking (including beer!). Luciano insisted on driving us into town for dinner, introduced us to his cousin (who has a wine shop) and recommended an excellent and reasonably... More

The staff are welcoming, there is a terrace with good views and the well stocked communal breakfast table is quite fun but... the hotel is actually 2.6K from the centre of town and wouldn't be a pleasant walk. If you want a restaurant in the evening you will need to drive into town. The hotel is also pretty tired needing... More

I revisited La Casa sulla Collina d'Oro again in May and once again was so pleased at Luciano's warm welcome. The rooms are not luxurious by any means but they are very comfortable, scrupulously clean and very good value. Plus the breakfast buffet is outstanding with lots of local products--cheeses, salumi, olives, fresh fruit, plenty of coffee, and an engaging... More

Situated on a hillside opposite Piazza Armerina this is a quality B&B ideally situated for visiting the Casale Roman Villa. Our room was of good size in the main house with wooden beams and modern facilities. Breakfast was communal round a large table meaning we got to speak to fellow guests. Breakfast itself was a good spread of local Sicilian... More

Fantastic B&B, 2 kms away from the historical centre (20 minutes walking distance). 3 huge terraces give a stunning view over the old town, amazing panorama ! Beautiful house with nice furniture, rooms with wood ceiling and tasty furnished : one can feel to be a guest in a friend's house. Living room with fire-place and huge dining room with... More

The Casa sulla Collina d'Oro is in a stunning location. It is not the easiest place to find but it is well signposted. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable.breakfast was very good indeed. As many people have reported one shares just one table with all guests, but I had no problem with that. I did, however, have a problem finding... More

My family and I stayed in 3 rooms of this quaint and comfortable hotel on our trip around the island of Sicily. We found the hosts to be very warm and friendly - we drank wine and talked in the common areas after settling in before heading out to dinner. The rooms were small but comfortable, and the breakfast spread... More

In a quiet location just outside the old town of Piazza Armerina, this appears to be a large private house which has been converted into a B&B. Breakfast was around a very large single table, with a good spread of yoghourts, salamis, jams and breads. You could chat with the other guests or keep your own counsel. We were accompanied... More
