Let's start with the good bits, because it was not entirely bad. The property is in a great location, a short walk to town but in the quiet of the countryside. The airport transfer was very welcome and reasonably priced. The apartment we stayed in was well thought out and nicely decorated.... but it wasn't exactly clean, in fact we found broken glass on the floor and the private terrace attached to the apartment was decidedly grotty. WiFi is essential for me when booking accommodation as I often need to work, there was no connection during the course of our stay, blamed on that old chestnut, the weather! The owners did try to get the internet going but with very limited success, we had to sit on the steps outside the bathroom to get any sort of connection at all, which was very intermittent and lasted less than an hour. The pool was closed and the area in which it was situated was in desperate need of some attention. Granted we did stay early in the season but other hotels in the area had their pools open, which we were happy to use. This would not have been so disappointing had we been advised up front. The biggest disappointment was the promised welcoming basket of local products, which conjured up images of local cheeses, yogurts, juices, baked goods etc. In reality it consisted of 2 very small, very dry rusks per person and a couple of tiny jars of bland jam. The previous reviews and descriptions on the various booking website promised so much more than was actually delivered, in fact we were so disappointed that we changed to another hotel in the area (at additional expense) which was clean, had WiFi and a working pool and provided a very varied, delicious breakfast.…
How can I do justice in a review to the time we spent at Trulli Paparale, the wonderful friendly welcome, gorgeous historical buildings and only a short stroll into town. Shame the weather wasn’t warm enough to make use of the pool with its bbq and pizza oven facilities. We will be back in a shot
Well appointed comfortable and cosy accommodation set in 2 hectares of well maintained and tranquil grounds boasting a good sized swimming pool just outside Alberobello but within an easy 10 minute walk of the centre. On site parking is a real plus and the location is convenient for visiting attractions within a 50 mile radius. The owners are very attentive and their recommended places to visit and eat were spot on.A real gem.
Beautiful Building and Garden The helpfulness of Maria and Franchesco was unbeliveable, they picked us up from the airport at more than half the price we would have to pay for a taxi. We spoke to Maria about the trips we wanted to do and she organised them for us. We would recommend them anytime, apart from that the Trulli was absolutely beautiful.
A real warm welcome from Maria and Francesco to their wonderful Trulli Paparale. A stunning quiet location a short 10 minutes walk from town . A fantastic outside area with a fabulous sized swimming pool. Each trulli had its own private terraced dining area with barbecue facilities. The immaculate kept gardens were full of fresh fruit trees and various vegetables which you could pick for your own use . The trulli itself was well laid out with everything you need for a really enjoyable stay . Maria and Francesco have really thought about how the trulli was restored and done a fantastic job. If anybody was planning on staying in Alberobello for a holiday Trulli Paparale would be my first recommendation. A unique experience and a wonderful memory to have.
