Quite liked this Hotel. Dated but had great character. Last minute decision to head to Ischia a day early and needed a place near the port for 1 night. This was well priced, ok clean room and handy to be able to have a swim in the thermal pool too. Welcome drink and good breakfast too.

Location was top priority for us with a young family and for this the hotel gets 5/5. Very easy to walk to from the port, buses close by, lots of restaurants close by and a beautiful street lined with shops just behind the hotel. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Matteo (I think) in the restaurant is also a real character! Breakfast was great for Italian standards ( stay at home if you expect an English breakfast in Italy!). A beautiful selection of fresh cakes and pastries and they made my son eggs for breakfast every day which he enjoyed. I thoroughly enjoyed my morning cornetto. Rooms were a good size and the air conditioning worked well. We had access to a large shared balcony, nice to have the outdoor space. Rooms were cleaned every day. The beds were very hard though and the room is quite basic. Adequate but basic. The indoor pool was pleasant (although our son was too young to use it) the outdoor pool as reported was a disturbing colour. Given the rest of the hotel is clean I suspect that perhaps that’s what happens to the mineral water over time, but it was too off putting to use it, especially when the pools at Negombo are not that colour. Overall the hotel is in an idea location and had everything we needed, I wouldn’t say its 4 star as it is a little tired, but then the price is also less than you’d expect to pay for 4 star in a premium location so adapt your expectations accordingly.

Aragona Palace is a lovely hotel with very good facilities (spa, roof top thermal pool and gardens, spacious rooms ) and efficient, friendly staff in particular Carmen and Jelena on reception and Mattia in the restaurant. We chose it for its prime position and ease of access to ferries and buses for exploring Ischia and the nearby islands/coastline. Every assistance was given to ensure we made the most of our holiday by the hotel staff from reduced price excursions to local restaurants/attractions. An excellent buffet breakfast of cold meats, cheeses and eggs, delicious cakes and pastries, fresh rolls and fruit selection is available each morning while a four course meal and can be enjoyed for 30 euros though fewer courses are charged accordingly. Dishes included lobster, entrecote steak and the famous Ischian rabbit. The room was very comfortable (bed a little hard but we got used to it) and housekeeping maintained total cleanliness with fresh towels provided daily. Our room had a balcony overlooking the harbour which in mid September was not overly crowded or noisy. Our thanks to all who made this a very special and memorable holiday on an island which has so much to offer.

***This is the first time I’ve ever written a review for a hotel - I’ve had the good fortune to stay in cheap & expensive hotels across the world (Bangkok, Paris, Amsterdam, across the USA, etc.) and this was unfortunately the worst one I’ve stayed in*** After spending a night in Rome and three nights in Sorrento, we made our way to Ischia excited to stay at this hotel for two nights because of all the great reviews and the reasonable price as well. All we can say is DO NOT STAY HERE. Pay €25 or 50 extra elsewhere on the island and stay somewhere else. It was so bad that we left Ischia early and the front desk staff didn’t even seem surprised that we were leaving early. We could hear everything in the rooms next to us, the walls are that thin, so it’s difficult to sleep. The outdoor pool was a nasty green color instead of the clean blue they advertise. The thermostat in the rooms (pictured) was difficult to operate and you couldn’t set what temperature you wanted. The towels and bed linens were dirty and in tatters, plus the pillows & beds are uncomfortable. All the bed linens smelled of mildew and the floor was covered in dirt and dust balls. There was a spider cobweb in one corner of the room. We didn’t use the spa at all but can only imagine how unhygienic it must be if our room was this bad. We honestly really wanted to like this place but you can tell the owners/management just either don’t have the money or the resources to keep this place up to date.

Stayed there in July with my family. Location-wise, it's perfect, right at the harbour at Ischia Porte. Easy to access everything, from restaurants, stores or the bus terminal if you want to explore the island. Close to the beach which is a plus if you travel with children! The personnel was kind and helpful and ordered a transfer from the airport, which was very nice since our plane got delayed several hours, and we probably hadn't made it if not! The room was very blue, but spacy and nice. We had a family room, with no window, but a door to a joint deck with sunbeds at the second floor. Big shower with very good water pressure!!! A clean hotel, with daily cleaning of the room. The roofdeck was lovely, with a garden, a small, but nice pool, a bar and lots of sunbeds. We only discovered this at our last day because it didn't look that nice in the pictures, but it was a lot nicer than we expected!! The air-conditioning worked very well, maybe a bit too well, as the room sometimes got really cold, especially when you only have a blanket as cover at night. The breakfast was ok. Lots of pastries and some fresh fruit, as well as a small selection of bread and spread. Very Italian breakfast, but maybe not the best. But we didn't go hungry! All in all, a nice and lovely hotel!

Perfect location. Clean, airy and spacious rooms. Fresh Italian breakfast with good pastries and coffee. Thermal spa and pool not perfect (a little tired, some beds and fittings broken, pool bar unmanned much of time in June, but that was not a problem for us) but ok - we enjoyed them. Decor is old school but this gives it a kind of retro charm as it is kept clean. Great views from room 304. Noise not a problem for us even with ferries docking and leaving, and a wedding on the street below. Overall, we loved our stay and would return for the location and cleanliness.

Spent 4 wonderful nights in Ischia Porto at the Aragona Palace with 2 friends. You couldn’t get a better location in Porto, right on the water and next to a row of fantastic bars and restaurants. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much bother. Rooms were spacious and clean with beautiful sea views from the balconies. Rooftop pool and solarium were lovely. My friend enjoyed her treatment in the spa. Great caffe doppio at breakfast and a good selection of breakfast foods. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The hotel is well-located on the harbour with easy access to ferries and local buses around the island. It is a five minute walk from where the ferry docks. The harbour area has lots of restaurants and the main shopping street is just around the corner. The hotel has a rooftop pool with view of the harbour and an indoor pool for rainy days. Staff were welcoming and friendly. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. However, we had a room at the front of the property, which was VERY noisy at night. The air-con in our room did not work / was switched off, so we opened the balcony doors to let in air. Big mistake: the harbour is constantly busy, with vans, porters and people congregating late into the night and early morning. It was loud, so we didn't get much sleep during our stay. The hotel looks dated. Someone once spent a lot of money making this hotel look quite tacky. Blue everything. Monogrammed everything. But it felt old fashioned and in need of investment to modernise it. The rooftop solarium was also quite untidy and not well-kept. Breakfast choices were limited. There is a hot breakfast option but it's not made clear and you have to ask for it. If I visit Ischia again I will stay somewhere else.

I initially only booked a 3 night stay for my wife and I at the Aragona Palace Hotel via British Airways Holidays, but my wife convinced me to extend it to a week which I am so glad I did, it was brilliant, especially in the current circumstances. The hotel itself is on Ischia Island which is an hour off the coast from Naples and is tucked away in the corner of Ischia Porto with numerous bars and restaurants minutes away on foot. We had a lovely deluxe room on the 4th floor which had its own patio with sunbeds and table and chairs with a view over the port and some of the super yachts docked there. Air conditioning was great as was the wi-fi and the fridge kept some beer and water cooled so we could have a drink on the patio before venturing out. I want to mention the staff were great, in particular Luigi and Carmen. Luigi sorted out our return transfer from Naples airport to the hotel which included shuttle buses and ferry's and it was done with military precision. Also Carmen was very helpful with information about the hotel, the area and tours and she booked us on a boat trip around Ischia Island which was fantastic. I cannot recommend this hotel and its great staff enough, it was a perfect week away.
