A disappointment. Looking for a relaxing , quiet hotel for a first visit to Ischia, I found on several booking sites “Hotel Ulisse”. Photos of Hotel, rooms, gardens and swimming pools looked lovely. After calling to inquire about a room, a double for single occupancy, I received a “ Preventivo” a quote by email. The email showed a charming room, double bed, opening out to a terrace, charming I thought, perfect for a few days . So I accepted. On arrival I was given a very unattractive room, looking out on to a small street and ugly buildings. 2 single beds joined together to make a double, very uncomfortable. I checked with the reception and was told that was what I agreed to and was the rate, if I paid more I could move to another room, with a view. I should have left but thought okay one night. I woke in the middle of the night, very cold, no blanket was in the room, and I felt that at 2am, it would not be possible to get one. Early morning , I was packed and ready to get out after breakfast. Terrible coffee, in Italy!! a sort of spongy sweet croissant, stale bread, there were some cakes but , I just wanted to get out. Very disappointed, I was looking forward to a quiet few days and discovering Ischia, I left on the first ferry to return to Naples and back to Rome. I could not recommend this Hotel at all. I work in the tourist industry.…
What a great little hotel! It is a well equipped basic hotel. The service was so accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Everyone was friendly & helpful right down to the cleaning lady! We extended our stay as we loved it so much. Location was perfect for first time visitors to Ischia. Even though it was close to the end of the season, the hotel maintained its standards and did not let anything slip. Breakfast was tasty & generous. Great pool and I would recommend paying a little extra for a room with a sea view. It was stunning. Thank you to everyone there for making our much needed break perfect!
I would like to thank the staff at the hotel for making me and my families stay enjoyable even in these troubling times. They listened our requests and did what they could to address them. Ideal location for the sights of Ponte and Porto. Great pool bar food.I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
This was our second visit to Hotel Ulisse. The first one was three years earlier. The service has improved even further: the staff at the reception, restaurant and pool was very friendly and efficient. Also the room cleaning let nothong to desire. Our room was 32 and it had an excellent view towards Castello Aragonese (like rooms 31 and 33).
We stayed here for one night in a standard double room with private terrace, and OMG terrace I wouldn't even call it that only room for one small chair and someone elses window open and looking straight onto this. The room was clean and basic but no hotel information regards meal times or what to do in the area, no wifei information either. I was looking forward to our stay here and was glad it was only one night. Breakfast was good, great choice but nothing g else positive to say on this note. I cant comment on the swimming pool as we were not even told any information that this hotels had two pools. Really bad choice definitely avoid this hotel.
