Pros: Amazing view for Deluxe room (sea view) Breakfast and lunch was pretty good (lunch was a bit pricey for standard and portion size) Wait staff for breakfast and lunch were attentive. Cons: Firstly, the double bed is 2 single beds pressed together, creating a gap between the two beds. Mattress is very firm, as are pillows. However, our main grievance is that the air conditioning is apparently not functional until mid-May despite this being listed as a service in all rooms with no specification on the website about it being a seasonal service. This issue was very difficult to resolve with staff. Without air conditioning, our room was very warm making it very hard to sleep. We raised this with reception staff and we were told the air conditioning wasn't working for the whole hotel and we were told to open the doors instead. This didn't help much with the heat and let in insects which bit us in the night. The following day we requested a fan for the room, which was provided but clearly very old. On our third night, the fan broke at 2am and we went to request another and were told that they didn't have any more. This then meant we didn't sleep at all on our third night. The next day, we requested that the air conditioning be fixed or we would leave early, not wishing to suffer through another restless and uncomfortable night. The manager explained that the air conditioning does not come on for the whole hotel until mid-May. We remind her that air conditioning is advertised on their website with no seasonal conditions listed. The manager's response was that Italians are used to this heat. She offered dinner for us both as compensation but we declined and requested that the cost of dinner be discounted from our final bill instead, which she did. However, 3 nights of restless sleep for a "5-star hotel" is not good enough. Overall, the hotel is dated and not very well cared for. As others have stated in their reviews, this is most definitely not a 5-star hotel and 300€ a night for this quality is VERY overpriced. It is a real shame as their location is wonderful but there is a severe lack of care in the maintenance of this hotel, and management's dealing of the air conditioning problem was unimpressive.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 5 nights. Our room had views over the ocean towards the Castello Argonese. We found the room to be comfortable and well maintained. The house keeping staff did a fabulous job of servicing our room each day. Our only slight criticism was the pillows as these were a little too firm for us. Breakfast was a delight and the serving staff helpful and attentive. We were on half board basis and had dinner included. This was taken in the sister hotel across the road. Whilst dinner was generally very good and plentiful the menu did feel a little repetitive (sea bream was on the menu 5/5 nights and virtually the same antipasti choices every evening ). We also were not keen on the lemon dressing that seemed to be applied to almost every dish we ordered. The food quantities were however generous and we never left the table hungry. The staff were amazing and very professional and kind. The hotel spa had a thermal heated pool and a sauna. In addition to this there was a terrace pool (unheated) The hotel decor was beautiful and very welcoming. Overall we would recommend the hotel to other travellers.

This hotel is right on the water and the sister hotel provides a private beach. You can’t get a better location. When you get to the beach you can go inside to the bar and order drinks and snacks. They will bring it to you on the beach. The only downside is they don’t come around and ask if you would like anything while you are laying out - every time you have go inside to the bar. This isn’t a huge problem but it’s the first place I’ve stayed where they don’t this so it was a surprise. The breakfast served at Mare Blu is a great way to start the day. Lots of choices and amazing breakfast staff. We fell in love with Carmen and Rosie. The only downside of the breakfast is the eggs - they were more like egg soup then scrambled eggs but that could just be a cultural difference. The room we stayed in was HUGE! The bathroom was a great size as well. The mattress is extremely firm, I’ll even go further, hard. So hard and uncomfortable. But you are there for the experience for Ischia. I did decide that when we come back I’m going to Amazon a mattress pad to the hotel and then just throw it away. The staff at both locations are phenomenal and welcoming. I loved every day spent here and will be coming back.

We just came back from a 7-night stay at the Hotel Mare Blu, and while having an overall positive experience, I wouldn't stay here again. Upon walking into our room, the bathroom was not clean, and the furniture was quite outdated. There was mold in the corner of our bathroom, and the pillows were so flat you might as well not had one. The staff was friendly and polite, and the included breakfast was appreciated. A big issue throughout our stay was that we could only access the WiFi network in our room for two of the seven days of our stay, despite consistently asking the front desk to remedy the issue.

We loved this hotel and the location. Our room looked out at the castle. We were cobvient to the downtown area, bus station and port. We arrived by ferry from Sorrento.our hotel was not far from port. Our room was comfortable. Room for our things. Breakfast included and it was good. Pools were nice. We only used once due to weather. Plenty of places to walk to. Beach across the street. Friendly staff. Great value for what we paid. We had mostly rain but will return to this beautiful island. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. Perfect setting overlooking the castle. Fantastic staff especially Luigi who was so helpful with advice on restaurants and places to visit. We had lovely rooms overlooking the sea and castle with large sun terraces. Everything was immaculate and looked recently decorated. Although slightly out of season at the beginning of May the weather was perfect. Good selection at breakfast and very attentive staff. Great local restaurants within easy walking distance. The pools and spa areas are well maintained in a pretty garden setting on different levels with plenty of sun beds. Guests are also allowed to use all the facilities of the sister hotel next door with private beach but we were happy at the Mare Blu as it had a cosier atmosphere. Lots to see in beautiful Ischia so we will return. Very highly recommended. Tip: Quite a few mosquitoes around so bring repellent.

We have been to ischia many times yet this is the 1st stay in mare blu and we adored it. The service was exceptional- the team there can’t do enough for you and treated us like their family. Buffet breakfast is beautifully done, lots of variation and quality ingredients in a relaxed dining room setting. Facilities were impressive- beautiful pool & grounds, ability to use sister hotel mirabella hotel facilities also which was equally wonderful with indoor heated pool spa and beautiful beachfront location. We had a family room which was large and comfortable it’s a huge terrace overlooking the pool. We loved our stay here and although the hotel is beautiful in its design & style the team here made our stay. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We will be back!

We stayed here in early July. The hotel was beautiful as well as the rooms. The room was a nice size, enough drawer space (you can never have enough drawer space) exceptionally clean and had a very nice view from the balcony. The concierge service was extremely helpful, from getting us a scooter rental to restaurant accommodations. The hotel has a thermal pool and a regular pool which were both very clean. Breakfast was included, which I have to say in our 2 week stay in Italy, hands down, they had the best breakfast buffet. Hotel is located across the street from the beach where you will find lounge chairs, umbrellas and beach towels that are provided by the hotel. This hotel is associated with Hotel Miramare e Castello which is less than 100 meters walking distance from this hotel and you are able to use both hotels. I highly recommend this hotel.

Probably can't go wrong in Ischia, a wonderful little island 60 minutes ferry ride from Naples. The hotel is elegant without being pretentious. The lobby is small, the rooms good sized. Particularly liked the two pools, one a mineral pool, the other regular. Breakfast (included) was good. The hotel is directly across from the calm ocean, which of course is very popular for swimmers and sun worshippers. It's maybe a five to 10 minute walk to the small, charming town, which is filled with restaurants featuring fish fresh from the sea. After Rome, which was hot and crowded, this jewel was a wonderful. respite.
