Probably can't go wrong in Ischia, a wonderful little island 60 minutes ferry ride from Naples. The hotel is elegant without being pretentious. The lobby is small, the rooms good sized. Particularly liked the two pools, one a mineral pool, the other regular. Breakfast (included) was good. The hotel is directly across from the calm ocean, which of course is very popular for swimmers and sun worshippers. It's maybe a five to 10 minute walk to the small, charming town, which is filled with restaurants featuring fish fresh from the sea. After Rome, which was hot and crowded, this jewel was a wonderful. respite.
We have visited ischia many times and this was our first time at mare blue hotel and we will definitely return. The team are an asset to the hotel and made us feel like part of the family! The service is personal, attentive and the team are incredibly friendly providing a warm & friendly atmosphere. Food quality & variety was excellent with a buffet, style, breakfast. Rooms are comfortable with ample balcony space & beautiful views regardless of the position. The ability to use facilities in both mare blu and mirabella was a great asset to us as we have a young baby and could use the indoor pool Facilities as well as outdoor. Visiting many hotels on the island previously we really loved this hotel and would recommend for couples, solos particularly. Thank you mare blu we will definitely return…
Fantastic service amazing breakfast and private beach 30 minutes from the port walking although there are taxis. Some nice restaurants in front of hotel and towards the rock. Views from rooms beautiful. Really good service - a good find.
We travelled here from Edinburgh via Naples the day before. We transferred via Hydrofoil which took around 50 mins. Picked up at the port by the courier and taken to the small hotel. The hotel wa oppsoite the beach, what an oasis in the world this was. The rooms were fab, nice clean airy and every amenity. We ate athe hotel for Breakfasst, all you could eat. hot and cold served to you ala buffet style. We ate at a multitude of little restraunts for lunch. We ate at the Sister hotel in the evening, which is beside the Blu Terme. The staff were Truly amazing , and ever so friendly. we attended a family wedding here. What an introduction to Italy. WOW. we'd love to go back. A special word for Luigi who waited on us hand and foot for 5 days, food drinks, Tea, Coffee and more drinks. Always polite and ever so friendly. what a credit to his family this young man was. We were sad to come away, we had to go and slum in Sorrento for some more days on our Italian tour.…
We have just returned from the most amazing 10 nights at this hotel which we booked for our wedding trip. We could not have asked for more, the hotel was immaculate; the breakfast buffet offered a wide range of continental style breakfast foods, and included bacon and scrambled eggs; and the staff were the most attentive and friendly people I think I have ever met! The majority of our guests stayed in the same hotel and experienced the same leve of excellent care and attention. On the day of the wedding, the staff prepared the foyer with a white carpet and dressed the front doors with ribbons,(which was a lovely surprise), and all gathered to wave me off. We couldn’t thank them all enough for making our trip so incredible, and special thanks to Antonio and Luigi who both went above and beyond to look after us 💙 Fabulous hotel…we didn’t want to leave, and we can’t wait to go back!!…
We just arrived for our holiday in Ischia and find out from the car rental that the hotel we confirmed two months ago is CLOSED! They move us to an inferior hotel and Ana the manager rudely informs us she won’t honor our rate at the sister property. She has plenty of empty rooms with sea views that was what we had reserved at the MareBlu but now she is like a vicious pirate with barred teeth seething she wants to charge us $49 more a night or we can leave. I explain we have traveled all the way from California to be here and there is a rich trail of email communications which detail everything. But she would rather a guest have a poor experience in a closet room than fulfill on a reservation. She launched into a long tirade about her dynamic pricing. I responded with “What is The Difference between a Good Hotel and a Great Hotel?” “It is the Manager!” Ana did not get it at all. She is an unenlightened poor practicer of customer service. She has empty rooms. She has guests that have not been told the property they booked has been closed for season. She didn’t care we had been duped. Nor did she have any passion for anything but greed! It cost her nothing to give us the room we had reserved. It is the last week the hotel is open for the year. But we took the high road, we checked in at the ridiculously higher rate —-in spite of rude Ana — who will go down in the annals as Worst Hotel Manager MiraMare y Castello Ischia in the world. As a profession my companion and I book incentive travel for corporate executives. Our organization, IMEX and IBox, Italy Tourism Bureau’s arm for buyers Will learn of our Ischia experience and especially the story of Ana the Manager and the missed opportunity she had to be a gracious host. You never know who you are talking to and it always pays to be nice. Especially when you can be.…
Wow! Amazing hotel pure class ! Staff so helpful and the restaurant is absolutely delightful ! I’m sad I’m home now and really want to go back but would be better in the summer months as too much rain in October
Our first visit to Ischia but we will definitely be back, the hotel was outstanding and exceeded our expectations in every way, the sister hotel being just yards away with complementary facilities made it difficult to choose which hotel we should spend more time in. Unfortunately, on the evening before we were due to leave, my partner slipped and fractured her ankle, at which point the hotel could not have done any more to help, they accompanied us to the hospital and stayed with us until we were diagnosed, arranged for the restaurant to stay open until we got back, took us back the following day for plaster, etc, they went the extra mile and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Our thanks to Ciro and Anna and their entire team from both hotels and we will see you again.
Had a lovely time at this hotel and all staff were polite, helpful and eager to make our visit special. There is a lovely outdoor pool with plenty of beds available. There is also a thermal pool. Our room was excellent and a great balcony overlooking the pool. A lovely gesture of a complimentary bottle of Cava was in our room. The tv channels were not working at first and wi -fi was weak, but no sooner mentioned and they were immediately looked at and rectified. A fuse blew in a light on the second morning but again the wonderful Fillipo sorted it. I kidded on that I was a jinx. Our room was kept immaculate by Nancy, who was American born and was a font of useful information. Nothing was too much for her and she twice arranged ice buckets for further bottles of prosecco that we had bought. The front of house staff quickly remembered us and were able to bring us our key without asking the room number. We had breakfast every day and it was excellent. A good choice of continental options, smoked salmon, ,scrambled egg and the best bacon I have had whilst abroad. The waiting staff were attentive to all our needs and the big bonus was the option of prosecco to wash it all down. The option to use the facilities in the close sister hotel nearby was great, as they had roof jacuzzis with great views of the castle. You could also use their sun beds and little beach. which was very useful. We had a fabulous 10 days in this lovely hotel and would definitely stay again if we revist Ischia.…
The hotel is well located, the staff are super attentive, the room was clean (although poorly furnished) but , a big but, overall it is far away from a 5 star hotel standard. The public areas , especially the thermal pool, definitely need to be cleaned and renovated, THE POOL ESPECIALLY TO BE CLEANED.
