We loved our last minute stay! The website doesn’t do the property justice. The location and property are beautiful and we loved our room. Despite not being very large it was well appointed. Great housekeeping and turndown service. The hotel has a charming old fashioned feel to it. Great food and overall service. A real hidden gem. We will be back hopefully.
This was a beautiful resort with lots of amenities. The three pools were beautiful. We paid for an upgraded suite with an infinity pool and it was beautiful. We did use the pool and our backyard received a lot of sunshine in the late afternoon without the breeze at the pool. Weather was unusually warm for October and pools were heated so we were able to swim. Food at the pool bar was pretty good. My only negative comment would be about the dinner at the Veranda. It felt very formal (wait staff wears suits). While everyone was friendly and attentive, they were always running around and rushing to do something. We were afraid to pour our own water because someone would always run to the table, grab it out of our hands and pour it for us. Since they appeared to be stressed, it made us feel stressed and we were not relaxed eating dinner. But food was decent and the menu was upscale if you like those kinds of delicacies. But we would definitely stay here again if we ever come to Ischia again.…
I have been travelling to Ischia for many years now and the Sanmontano Hotel is for me the best on the island. None of the places I have been can beat its stunning views, beautiful pools, garden areas and excellent food. But the main reason for me to come back every year to the Sanmontano for my holidays is the staff. They are all very welcoming and go every day the extra mile to help their guests and make them feel at home. In particular Daniela and her team at the SPA are accomodating even the most difficult client professionally and always with a smile. They make you feel special and looked after. Also the staff at the restaurants and reception provide an outstanding service. I can highly recommend this hotel for a splendid holiday in beautiful Ischia.
It was a real pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff are very attentive and very friendly. I think this is what we were most impressed by. Everyone from the cleaners, to the waiters and reception staff were very helpful and polite. Extra credit is owed to the waiting staff who really went above and beyond with the service. Upon arrival we were greeted with a drink of lemonade made from the lemons grown in the hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The hotel is literally on the top of the mountain and overlooks the town of Lacco Ameno. Being on the top of the cliff does make access by foot a challenge but there is always a taxi available through the hotel to take you back and fourth at no cost. This taxi also takes you to and from the beach located nearby. It’s a very chic and cute hotel. I was most impressed by the different levels leading to different swimming pools which for me made it very enchanting. There is also a garden where they grow their lemons which you can explore. The views from the poolside, the restaurant and the bar are absolutely stunning. Which makes for amazing photos!!! There is also someone playing a piano near the bar area in the evening which creates a lovely ambience after dinner. They offer a set menu which changes each night but the quality of food is superb, a real fine dinning experience. All in all, we really enjoyed our time here and would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a very relaxing break. Thank you San Montano :) Xxx…
My husband and I spent the final two nights of our vacation in Italy at the San Montano Resort and Spa and wish we had stayed there for the whole week. First up - this place is GORGEOUS. The views are insane from every direction. Sunrise in one direction, sunset in the other. Second - the service was impeccable in almost all areas. The concierge staff were true stars and every person we encountered was more helpful than the last. They even arranged to buy our ferry ticket when i was nervous about not getting them, and asked the shuttle driver to come in 10 minutes early to get us to the ferry on time. The pool staff were wonderful, setting up your chairs with cushions and towels and offering drinks. Third - the amenities were excellent. We planned on hitting up a thermal pool park, but as soon as we saw all of the options at the resort, we decided to stay put. The pools are all thermal (except one 'regular' cool pool) and are almost indescribably beautiful and therapeutic. Fourth - Our room was lovely. Clean, lovely bedding, comfortable bed, gorgeous view from the balcony. After 5 nights on a crappy hard bed in Positano, this was just heavenly. Fifth - the food was delicious! We had the breakfast plan and it was lovely. Fruit, pastries, eggs, prosecco, cappuccinos. Delicious!! Dinner was also lovely - great views and very formal and impressive service. The menu plan isn't obvious, but always get the 'full dinner' which is an antipasto buffet (amazing), and a three course dinner. If you are looking at this hotel, don't hesitate. You won't regret it. We are already planning on returning (and staying here the whole time).…
