The hotel staff is exceptional, although our room was small we had an excellent terrace to watch the east coast sunrise. It is high above Lacco Ameno which has its charms, but does require provided shuttle service. The only downside was the restaurant. Better food and service could be found in town. The breakfasts were excellent especially considering the venue. The convenience of the spas within the hotel really makes this site worthwhile.
Stunning resort and spa from the accommodations and the food to the staff and the ocean views, San Montano Resort and Spa was worth every penny. Our experience at San Montano was above excellent. We splurged on an infinity pool suite for a family of 4 - including 2 boys 20 & 22 years old. The suite provided plenty of space and privacy. The staff was amazing - they remembered us each morning and evening at meal times, and recognized we were with a larger party of 7. Rafaela, Luigi, Vincennes are among the many who helped make our stay so memorable. I highly recommend staying on Ischia and particularly at the San Montana Resort. The spa services were extraordinary as was our 3 night stay.
This hotel is perched at top of a mountain with several mineral pools, thermal baths, it’s own lemon Grove and an excellent spa and gym. We were greeted at the port by a complementary shuttle up to the hotel which was most appreciated after a long ferry trip to Ischia. Staff were attentive, extremely helpful and the free shuttle into town to and from the sister hotel was an added bonus. The shuttle could also be taken down to the beach which was also helpful given that the beach is fairly far away from the actual hotel complex and a long climb up if you choose to walk it. Breakfast was excellent with varied options, catering to vegans if this option was required. We had lunch at the restaurant every day and food was good, and not unreasonably priced. Rooms were spacious and luxuriously appointed, with daily robes provided…although the Bathrooms were a bit dated with a built-in and quite basic shower. We upgraded to a Seaview room which is highly recommended, each room containing a balcony where you could drink a glass of wine and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Attaching a couple of pictures, one at sunset and the other from the beach. We would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to travellers looking for luxury service.…
What else can be added to this 5S hotel? Excellent service and room service. Awesome landscape, cold and warm waterpool, plus a seawater’s. Vast breakfast choice and a free shuttle crown this Ischia excellence. Only a little flaw; egg Benedict wasn’t triple AAA
I loved this hotel. It is in a beautiful setting with stunning views. The rooms are comfortable and updated. The pool area also has the stunning, panoramic views and multiple pools to choose from. The breakfast buffet has a large assortment or high quality food. The sunset cocktail hour was lovely. The best part of the hotel is the incredible staff, as soon as you check in they are so helpful, you go to the pool and they immediately give you towels, set up your umbrella, the staff at the restaurant is so attentive, if you need a ride to the beach or to town, everyone is friendly and eager to help. We've been to other hotels that were listed as 4 or 5 star but this was the nicest by far.
Recently spent a week at the San Montano resort for a family reunion and it far exceeded our already lofty expectations. Most of it was due to an incredible staff that literally made us feel like family. They went out of their way to make sure anything that we did outside of the hotel was taken care of perfectly. Inside of the hotel there was nothing better than the staff at the restaurant and the late afternoons/evenings at the pools after a busy day. I'm not sure I can give proper credit to how warm and welcoming the staff made our family feel each and every day...way beyond the call of duty in my opinion. Sunsets and cocktails out on the patios were as good as i've seen anywhere and the incredible breakfast spread provided the perfect start to every day. If I were to give my one complaint...for a 5-start resort the rooms are a little bit tired and could definitely use an upgrade, especially the showers. The level of service made the small shortcomings an easy thing to overlook.…
This is by an extreme the finest hotel on the island. It works so well, the arrival, the brilliant reception and concierge staff led by Vincenzo. A joy to just say ciao every morning. The physical location and facilities and views are extraordinary. When you are here, you feel like you are floating, it's quite simply the dolce vita. We will return and it was a delight playing tennis with the owner Dominico too!
I took a chance and booked this hotel at short notice and I must say we were blown away with pretty much every aspect of the resort. We stayed 4 nights in a superior double room with sea view that was quite spectacular. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything, including robes that one could wish for - unusual for Italy! The staff were incredibly helpful and super friendly, including all the pool guys who couldn't do enough to be of service. They also operate a frequent shuttle service down to the little town and one can call them and they will pick you up again. The biggest thrill for me were the thermal pools, especially the main hottest one that was equipped with the best jets I have ever tried, so my spine and lower back felt totally different by the time we left and I am still experiencing the benefits and that is really saying something! The food was good and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast which was varied and plentiful so what more could you want.…
One of the very best hotels I’ve stayed at, ever. With amongst the best views in Italy overlooking the Bay of Naples, Vesuvio and the lovely town of Lacco Ameno and with numerous swimming and plunge pools spread out over the complex it’s a quiet, relaxing and generous resort. The staff are amazing, cannot do enough for guests and always with a greeting and a smile. We could not have been treated better or more welcome. Arcangelo the general manager was a standout, he should be rightly proud of his team.
We loved the San Montano Resort in Ischia. It was the perfect setting for us after spending four days climbing the stairs of Positano. We were able to relax and enjoy the extensive water features including the incredible large hot pool that was a wonderful treat for our weary muscles. There are so many pools all of varying temperatures for guests to find the one that suites their needs. We were treated to a complimentary mud mask facial and loved the other services of the spa and nicely equipped gym. The head concierge, Vincenzo, was like a modern day Mr. Rourke from Fantasy Island, always anticipating your needs and arranging things just so. The resort provides on demand shuttles to the charming and upscale town of Lacco Ameno about 5 to 10 minutes down the hill. The town is a great place to shop and dine when you've had your fill of the resort's spa-like indulgences. The complimentary breakfast is predominantly buffet style and overwhelming in the choice and quality. We are so happy we chose to come to Ischia - a gem of an island - and stay at the San Montano Resort.…
