We have stayed here three times and will only stay at this hotel when we are on Ischia. The 4 pools and the grounds are immaculate. Three of the pools have various water/jacuzzi type jets. All pools are nicely heated with thermal waters. Breakfast was lovely and with a view. Room were comfortable and had charm. The staff was the best! Spa services were excellent...we enjoyed a facial and massage. A great place to relax and in a good location to see the entire island. No restaurant on site for dinner but plenty are in the local area, a few good ones within an easy walk. Love, love, love this place!

We had a fantastic time staying at Semiramis Hotel de Charme. The accommodation was lovely and peaceful. We enjoyed spending time by the pool and watching the sunset over the ocean from our balcony. There were also lovely local restaurants within walking distance. The staff were very helpful too, organizing a boat trip and car rental for us. Would recommend staying here for relaxation.

Lovely people, accommodations and views! Highly recommend. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! Thermal heated pool was so relaxing. Wonderful breakfast and lunch. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They were extremely helpful in arranging our transfers to and from the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in August with my husband and 6-month old son. I've had a very positive experience. The hotel is located very close to the beach, and if you like walking, within walking distance to the town of Forio. The distance to Forio is 3km but there's a sidewalk along the sea that takes you there so it's completely doable. Otherwise there is a public bus that costs €1.90 that stops in front of the hotel and runs every half and hour. Taxis on Ischia are rather pricey: 12-15€ from the port to the hotel.

The grounds of the hotel are lovely. There's a beautiful well-tended garden surrounding the pool. There are plenty of sunbeds and chairs. The pool was warm and perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach.

For lunch we went to Le Sirene which is on the beach right in front of the restaurant. They have an agreement with the hotel whereby they offer either a lunch menu (20€ for a first and second course and a side dish) or a discount off their a-la-carte menu. I must say the food was excellent and the service was very friendly!

The rooms are very nice, in low two-story buildings. It almost looked like a small village. Very charming. Note that there is a ceiling fan but the air conditioning is activated from 2PM to 9AM at an extra cost of 10€. If I had to make a small observation, I would suggest the hotel change the bath towels. They were clean but I think they have seen better days.

Service at the reception was very courteous and friendly. It's a family-run hotel so I think their heart is definitely in it. Everyone was very welcoming.

Citara beach is lovely! It's litterally 1 minute walk from the hotel. There's an agreement with some of the private beaches for discounts on sunbeds. There's also a public beach right in front but it was rather crowded (it was August afterall). We went to the Giardini di Poseidon private beach and paid 30€ for two sunbeds and and umbrella in the first row (the price varies depending on how far your umbrella is from the sea). The other private beaches are cheaper (around 20€) but they were full. If you don't have a beach towel, the hotel will provide you one for 3€ (per change). This seemed reasonable to us and the towels were new and very large.

Breakfast was served on a terrace with a lovely view on the beach, the mountain and the garden. Breakfast staff was very nice and helpful. The quality and choice was good. Small observation: there was only one high-chair available (we had to alternate with another couple with a small child), and it wasn't the safest (it didn't have the bar that goes between the legs so that baby doesn't s like off). I would suggest the hotel purchase a couple more and better high-chairs.

I would definitely recommend this hotel over other hotels that I've seen on Citara beach and I will most definitely be back!

Visited this area ten years ago, little change still a lovely place to unwinde, what I liked about Ischia is the total lack of Brits, it's nice to get away from your own countrymen now and again but don't worry everyone speaks English. As for the hotel the position could'nt be better almost on the beach and very close to the Poseidon gardens therm, you have to try it, you will come away feeling great or you can spend your days in the hotel pool wow 34c + like taking a bath you won't want to get out. The hotel is surrounded by lovely gardens and taking breakfast on the terrace is a plus. The rooms are large and very comfortable but the standard rooms are not in the best location, all rooms are spread around the grounds not in a block if we stay again I would book a more expencive room. The hotel is only B & B they do have a bar open all day and evening but they could do with food being available during the day snack food that is. On the subject of food there are a number of restaurants near by do try the Gabbiano Beach and have fish fillited at the table it's quite something. A trip into Forio 10 mins bus ride buy your tickets at the bar by the bus stop get off the bus when you see the marina infront of you cross the road to your left and walk into the old town it's great and plenty of good seafood to be had. There are a lot more things about this island I could tell you about but i'm not being paid to write a book so pay a visit and stop at the Semiramis Hotel the beautiful girls on the reception desk will make sure you have a great stay.

Semiramis is located on Citara beach, one of the nicest beaches in Ischia - shallow, calm water and it's within 3 minutes walk of Poiseiddon Gardens outdoor thermal spa.. worth it for the location alone. I had such a pleasant stay at the hotel - the staff who run it were all very friendly and helpful, as commented by other reviewers it feels very like a family business. The pool is surprisingly large (and heated to 32 or 34C as it's a thermal pool), if you want to just hang out there for the day it's really peaceful - beautiful botanic gardens and birdsong. Location wise there is a minimart 2 minutes walk away where you can buy anything you need, plus an array of lovely restaurants right on the seafront (my favourite was Gabbiano) - the hotel also has discounts available with several of them. I've been to Ischia 3 times and stayed in Ischia Porto, Casamicciola and Maronti beach - I have to say that if you're looking for a relaxing and peaceful hotel near some good attractions this would definitely be my first choice. The ladies on the front desk were all absolutely lovely. My only critiques would be: The pillows & beds were rather uncomfortable, and the towels were very small (definitely in need of an upgrade!), and it'd be nice if the wifi extended to the rooms as well as pool areas. But other than that, there were no issues and I would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is marvelous. The pool gives you the impression of being in a tropical place. Very close to the beach. Nice and large rooms. Very nice personnel and good service.
Even very nice restaurants on the beach close to the restaurant.
Paradise... The problem is that you will less discover Ischia: it is so nice that you will just stay there and enjoy !

I stayed at the Semiramis (which is in the part of Ischia called "Citara") for a week at the height of Italian holiday season, in August. I was apprehensive, as that time of year is notoriously crowded and chaotic in many resort areas, and we really wanted some peace and quiet.
We needn't have worried - it was quiet and peaceful, and a very pleasant and relaxing experience overall.
Some key positive points:
- we stayed in the more expensive "sea view" rooms: I'd recommend these as they're particularly quiet
- the hotel is built from local stone, not thin curtain walls, resulting in very quiet rooms and little noise from neighbours
- breakfast is exceptionally good with a wide range of food; the owners are Italian and German, so both cultures are well-represented at breakfast
- the (private) beaches opposite (about 300m walk) had space for us, even in mid-August, at €20-25/day
- there's a very large thermal pool at the hotel if you get bored with the beach
- the rooms are very well maintained; beautiful majolica-style tiling everywhere, and very good quality furniture. Bathrooms are particularly good and clean, beds comfortable and not squeaky!

A few minor niggles
- air-conditioning is a daily extra charge of €10, even for the more expensive sea-view rooms. However, there is a ceiling fan in every room, and it worked well enough that we didn't need the air-con
- similarly, fridges cost €5/day
- the hotel is only bed and breakfast, but priced similarly to other half-board hotels at the same standard; however this hotel is one of the very best in its band (3 stars). You pay your money and take your choice!

A couple of hints and tips
- the "Gabbiano" restaurant is slightly more expensive that the partner restaurant (Sirena del Mare), but offers a 10% discount for Semiramis guests, and is in a different class to Sirena del Mare: much, much better than it!
- if possible, take a bus from Ischia Porto (where you'll arrive by hydrofoil or ferry) to Citara, as taxis are very expensive, and many drivers, sadly (although not all: some are honest), exploit tourists as much as they can
- you can buy bus tickets in advance at the bars near the port, and in Citara. Buy yourself at least 2 for everyone in the party, so you have a return trip to somewhere in advance!

All in all, although we ended up paying more than we would have for a full/half-board 3 star hotel, we thought this was very good, and will go back when possible. Highly recommended.
