If you are in Ischia and looking for an elegant but still unpretentious place to stay , hotel la scogliera is the place to be Reasonably priced , clean rooms , nice decor and cool vibe . The owners make you feel at home and the staff is the kindest and most helpful you could find on the island. They have a solarium with a direct access right to the cleanest water which is just across the street . The solarium is avialable to the hotel guests only and in august ( the busiest period of the year ) this is definetly a big plus The layout of the hotel makes everything easy .. which is what you need where you are on holidays Forio center is a stone thrown away Everyone from the receptionists to the waiters to the manager of the restaurant to beach guard make sure you have the best time possible Very accommodating attitude and relaxing atmosphere . Despite the many places to visit in Ischia .. you feel you don’t want to leave the hotel . Thanks to everyone for making our holidays special Well done guys ! I will surely see you next year

A fabulous hotel with an exceptional staff. I could not find anything bad about this property. Everyone from the lovely lady cleaning our room to reception and wait staff were so friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Valentina, Sofia, Gino, Gaetano and the “young” Giovanni, for making our experience so memorable. 👏

We stayed at La Scogliera for 6 nights as a kind of "beach vacation" after visiting busy Italian cities. The hotel is directly across the street from the ocean, and there are many little restaurants along the street within 5 minutes walking that you can get great pizza, seafood and pasta at, all while watching the sun set. (We picked this hotel because we didn't want to rent a car and that worked out perfectly.) We enjoyed the beautiful, comfortable lobby and garden where we relaxed and checked our email and also had nightly apertifs as the sun went down. Our room was very nice, we got upgraded to a room with a great view of the sea and mountains, as well as a more comfortable bed than our first room. I would definitely recommend to get our room, 106, or 109 next to us. For the price, the view rooms here are a good deal--perfect ocean view. The hotel has a floating platform with sunbeds you can use for free, but we preferred to go down the street to one of the two beach concessions and pay 20 euro a day for an umbrella and two sunbeds on the sand. (Recommend Chalet Nonna Carmela, also delicious lunch here.) The hotel service was very good, everyone was very kind and polite. We only used the pool once, it is okay and in a lovely setting with the mountains in the background, but the pool area could use some updating. The breakfast is fine, but there are a huge number of sweet selections and not quite enough fruit or savory selections. We didn't eat at the hotel any other time. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from the unmissable La Mortella botanic garden and about a 10 minute cab from Poseidon Garden, both of which we recommend. The walk to Forio is about 15 minutes, but we only went once because the strip of beach between La Scogliera and the town is so chill and nice, with plenty of food options. Would definitely stay here again.

* The hotel is on a dead end street, so it is dead quiet outside. * The room had an air conditioner * The bed was fine soft enough. It was just that they used two twins to make a quadruplet. * I got the room with a balcony so big it’s almost a terrace. I had direct view of the sea. Which turned out to be better than I thought, because it faced due west. So it faces the sunset, on the sea. * There are rooms that step out onto the pool. That would be convenient. * The Wi-Fi did not reach the balcony. But it did reach the pool. There is one outlet at the pool. * Head to Head comparison of WiFi in the room. The Microsoft Computer sometimes had problems with connecting, staying connected, and with Zoom. The Macintosh Personal Computer had no problems at all. * The restaurant was very good. The food was juicy and delicious. * They have house wine as in private label. As in the label says Hotel La Scogliera * If you eat at the restaurant you can get a bottle of wine and if you don’t finish it in one sitting, they can keep it for you and you can work on it during your stay. * Dinners are only 20 ala carte. You get an appetizer, 1st course, 2nd course, and desert. * you have to reserve dinner ahead of time. * Lunch is in the garden out front * The 3 pools are fantastic. They’re not too cold and the hot springs pool is not too hot. The hot springs pool and the indoor pool have massage jets. * The sun deck is at sea level. And it has a stairway to the sea * The sun deck has a lifeguard on duty. * The sea is full of boulders * The sundeck doesn’t have a caffe, but you can order from the hotel. * What’s funny is there is restaurant right next door to the sundeck, but it only opens for lunch and dinner, which are from 13-14 and 20-24. Not when sunbathers would be on the sundeck dehydrating and craving a snack. * The sun deck is the social scene. Everyone talk to their neighbor. * It takes all of 5 minutes to get from port Forio to the hotel.

Lovely quiet location. Clean rooms. Fabulous frontage. Cleaning staff and front of house staff were very friendly. However the food seriously let down this hotel. We did not at any point see any food that resembled the food pictured on the hotel website. The buffet style starters consisted of very overcooked tasteless vegetables. The main on our second eve was accompanied by frozen carrots only. My dirty tableclothe was eventually turned over .We tried twice but ended up eating out for the rest of the holiday. Having paid extra for half board the holiday worked out expensive in the end. Pool and SPA in need of some TCL.

Rooms are small, old, floor was broken and the heater was rusted. although we booked for 3 people the room wasn't ready for us when we got there, they seemed surprised that we were 3, and it seemed that a towel was already used. personnel was extremely rude during the breakfast (I even heard one of them making bad comments about us in to other employees, in front of other guests, and just because we had asked a non dairy milk for our cappuccino, which they never provided after the second day, although we said we don't drink any dairy milk. the private access beach is not even a beach, but an extremely rusted structure with sun beds and umbrella you have to pay for its use. The spa was not as complete as they said, in fact it wasn't possible to have a massage in the afternoons, nor a couple massage, not even making any effort to try to accommodate our requests. The thermal pool was dirty, and the inside pool had several missing and broken tiles, open ended pipes and animal excrements on the borders. The sauna didn't work every day either. Overall a terrible experience!!!

The hotel is beautiful with the most luxurious entrance and foyer. The pool is lovely with unobstructed sun and plenty of beds. The rooms are delightful with balconies and very effective air-con. The breakfast is the normal continental, but the down-side is the awful virtually inedible food served up for dinner, some of which we could not eat. There are plenty of good quality restaurants within walking distance, which we used after the third day attempting to eat hotel “food”. The other down-side is the lack of a proper beach, which consists of large boulders. This is a shame because either side there are man-made sandy beaches. The hotel “beach” is a platform made of old rusty scaffolding with steps down to the water; not what you expect from a high-class hotel. Town centre is 20 minutes walk away with an effective cheap bus service to the whole of the of the island. There is also a number of cheap boat rides for round island trips.

We enjoyed week away here through secret escapes. No fast food, or precooked meals here. There is a set menu but every meal is cooked individually. The setting is quiet and relaxing, with a swimming pool and spa pool. The west facing garden is perfect for a pre-dinner drink whilst watching the sun set over the sea and a post dinner drink before retiring for the night.
