The spacious room (although it was a triple to which they added a bed) but still very large, a very large terrace overlooking the sea on the bay of Citara spectacular.
We made half board, you can choose from time to time whether to have lunch or dinner (which is very welcome, not found in other facilities). The restaurant offers a buffet service with different types of vegetables and various delicacies (as appetizers) and then choice between 3 first and 3 second courses at the table, and finally choice between fruit, dessert and ice cream. The beach is about 800 meters, along a downhill road, pleasant on the way but absolutely heavy on the way back. The hotel has a very fast shuttle service every half hour until 19. Very nice driver.
The pool area very large and well maintained, bathrooms, showers and changing rooms spotless. The well-kept outdoor spaces. It is a real park hotel, because there are many buildings located around the pool with lots of rooms. We were in the main building, where there is reception and restaurant. All the staff available.
What about we had a great time and definitely will be the reference hotel for our next holiday in Ischia.
Anyway, it is a 3 star.... But let's say it could also aspire to a 4th star.
The hotel makes a very well-kept impression, although you can't miss the age in different places. The rooms are clean and are cleaned neatly and reliably. The Terme / Pool are noteworthy, a very nice complex with a nice pool bar. The therapy pool (indoors) should also be mentioned in praise. The hotel is not particularly central, but does not matter, as the bus stop is right in front of the hotel entrance. Up there you can easily reach all Things to do and locations.
The assessment becomes problematic when one looks at the gastronomy. The breakfast buffet is probably typical Italian, rather unimaginative and exactly the same every day. The multi-course dinner consists of a larger buffet antipasti, a hot starter (choosable from 4 but always very similar) and a main course (also selectable from 4). For dessert there is fruit or ice cream (in a plastic cup) or a piece of cake. In our opinion, most dishes were very weakly seasoned, partly lukewarm and began to repeat themselves after a week.
The service staff divides into two groups, one group is friendly, funny and customer-oriented, the other is cunning, unfriendly and stressed. The dining room has the charm of a factory canteen, bare, cramped and incredibly noisy.
Depending on which part of the hotel you are staying in, the two weekly animation evenings can be quite annoying, very loud music until after 11 pm.
Although dated, the structure is very well maintained with a well-kept garden. The pool area is large and functional with an adjacent bar area at affordable prices
Meal area: very diversified breakfast in the sweet area, little choice in the savory area. The trays are always replenished. I have no experience with lunch having always eaten out. Dinner: large buffet of raw and cooked vegetables, well presented and of good quality. The menu always offers 3 first courses, 3 second courses and fruit and/or desserts. Right portions and good quality. The structure has parking and a shuttle service to the nearby Citara beach. Good level of room cleaning with frequent change of bathroom linen. Helpful and kind staff
Hotel location was on the hill, you have to walk a steep road to it(or downhill).
The thing worth mentioning is the friendliness of the staff. In general in Ischia during the summer I have always found friendly and kind people, and here I am no less!
Another positive thing is the location, just an avenue above the citara beach and then the Poseidon Gardens.
