Holiday Inn met our needs for a conveniently located, affordable, and clean hotel. However, we were absolutely delighted by our interactions with the hotel team. Tired from our travels, we were impressed with the sincere welcome at the front desk followed by great service with a dash of humor from the bartender. This high standard of service continued at the restaurant where we enjoyed a tasty relaxing meal. The next day we continued to be impressed by the sincerity and positive attitude we experienced in our everyday interactions with staff. It has been a long time since we have encounter such consistently good service from an entire hotel team. We felt like honored guests rather than visitors just passing through. It takes careful hiring, training, and nurturing to create and sustain this type of service-centric environment. Congratulations! And Thank You!

My wife and I stayed here three nights as we visited Naples and the Amalfi Coast. It was a great location. The breakfast cost €12. We had it two mornings and it was very good. They will even make you bacon and eggs. We stayed on the third floor and it was very quiet.

Room Tip: I would recommend renting a car if you are staying here. It is a bit far from the train station.

A lovely welcome from all the staff. Stayed six nights and wish we could have stayed longer.

From answering emails extremely efficiently before our stay, organising a taxi to pick us up from Salerno, helping during our stay - nothing was too much trouble.

The staff speak English but were very patient in helping me improve my Italian.

The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and the bed very comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel a lot as so many places to try nearby but when we did, the food and service in the restaurant was first class.

Cava de' Tirreni is a beautiful place and this hotel was perfect, a short walk into town or to transport to other places in the area.

This hotel was in a great location for exploring both the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Naples etc. The bedroom & bathroom were in excellent condition, & the reception staff friendly, very helpful when dealing with any queries we had including a local train strike & request for a late check out, & spoke excellent English. We had breakfast in the hotel every morning - great value for money & with a very comprehensive selection of food - we couldn't fault this.
We hired a car for our trip as we believed this was the easiest way to get around, however we hardly used it as the hotel is within walking distance to the local train station in Cava de' Tirreni - approx 10-15mins, which we used to visit Pompeii, Vesuvius & Salerno. And from Salerno we picked up the bus which travels all the way round the Amalfi coast, which gives incredible views & takes the stress out of driving on the slightly hairy coastal road!
Car park at the hotel is free with plenty of spaces, & opposite the hotel is a large supermarket which we used to purchase snacks & extra drinks. Great location for exploring - would recommend.

Location very convenient because just off the highway, easy access to Costiera Amalfitana, Pompei, Salerno and Cilento. Don't miss Paestum less than one hour driving (without traffic, i.e. not in summer). Reception and rooms very new and hotel staff very friendly and ready to help.

I pre-booked to stay at this hotel using my rewards points as a Platinum Card Member but was refused to stay the night because my wife did not have an identification card on her! It did not matter how much we pleaded, the manager was not willing to let us have a room for the night. This is the worst experience with the Holiday Inn as sadly, I regrettably had to drive back for more than 3 hours to Ginosa in Puglia. I wish they had told me when booking that I was not allowed to have a guest in my room or that the guest would have to have an ID, something we do not have to do in England.

Dear Sir, I have read your comments and I thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on Tripadvisor. I believe that there a misunderstanding about the responsibility of your experience with us. In fact the denial of the accommodation was not caused by the hotel but was due to the application of italian laws. In Italy there is a law which clearly oblige hotels to register each guest with a valid passport or ID card and every information is sent to the local police station every night. The person travelling with you had no identification paper and in this case the only way to resolve the issue is to go to the local police station to make a report of the missing documents. It is not up to the single hotel to decide if to accept a guest or not. It is enforced by our legislation. Still thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

We planned to stay in Naples but had to cancel and once we actually saw Naples we were glad we did......we happened upon this place and found it affordable, clean, spacious and safe! The rooms were large with great beds. The dining room was huge and the food was very good. The breakfast was particularly good and included in the room fee. We highly recommend!

Although not in the nicest location, this hotel is highly worth of being recommended. Right after the Cava de' Tirreni exit of the motorway, is also a good solution to split a long car trip to the south of Italy. Kind and efficient check-in. The personnel was collaborative for everything.
Standard Holiday-Inn rooms well maintained e properly cleaned. Good breakfast, including a cooked omelette or scrambled egg on request and fresh fruit.
The rooms on the side which faces the motorway exit are a bit noisy. I tried both sides, and it is better to choose the other side ( I think they have even chamber numbers). The view is ugly from both sides, but the acoustics isolation is much better

We stayed at this hotel for seven nights. It is very clean, large comfortable rooms, for Europe. The hotel is very quiet. The staff is very helpful answering all questions and very willing to help you plan your day and places to visit. They charge for wi fi in the rooms, but there is free wi fi in the lobby, which was wonderful to check in with family. It is set in a business section of town, but also has the convenience of restaurants and shopping all in walking distance. Right across the street is a wonderful coffee bar, restaurant and grocery stores. We walked into town a lot. There is a charming old town area full of wonderful shopping (very reasonable). The train station is within waling distance (without luggage) about 15 minutes away. With the train you have access to Pompei (30 minutes away), Salerno (15 minutes), the Amalfi towns and more. We used a taxi both ways to the train station because of luggage (10 Euros). I would stay here again if we returned to this area.

I loved this hotel as it away from all the hustle and bustle of tourists. There was a really lovely receptionist Clementina. She gave us timetables as we chose not to drive and lots of info on local areas. She also asked about our trips etc. We felt very welcome by her. The other staff were very nice too. I felt I could not get enough travel info for the Cilento area prior to travel as so much of the info on the inetrnet is on amalfi. Luckily Clemintina managed to get us bus and train schedules that let us plan ahead.

There are regular trains to Salerno. The station in cava is about 15 mins walk to the hotel or a there is a bus nearby which takes you to either Cava or salerno station. We did not feel we needed a car. I know people keep saying you need a car to stay here, if you dont mind walking, its an excellent base . The bus to Salerno costs 1.20 Euros these are valid for 90 minutes.

Its a great place to stay as you can travel to the Cilento National Park area where the beaches are nice and very clean. I prefered this area to the Amalfi area as it is less touristy and has stunning beaches. I say this coming from a stunning beach area in Asia.

You really got a feel for local life here. Unfortunately I did not get much time to explore Cava.
Though I wish I had.

There are local supermarkets and loads of eating places including a lovely pizza place en route to the station. It was cheaper to eat here as it seemed to cater to the locals the quality was better too. On saturday evening families were strolling and eating out it was a realy pleasant atmosphere.

The room was great. I fell asleep each night the minute my head touched the pillow and did not wake again till morning. It was so quiet. Of all my travels and satying in Holiday Inns this was a true gem.
