We arrived at about 11pm and were delighted with the decor the room sizes and the very comfy antique bed. We got gorgeous views of Calitri's surrounding areas and a kaleidoscope of Calitrian roof tiles in the morning when we opened the curtains and windows We were extrememly well looked after and it felt more like we were just staying with friends of friends than being in a hotel. You must eat at the restaurant it looks fantastic the service is great and the food and wine were wonderful. A real gem of a find.

I stayed at the Palazzo Zampaglione on my second stay to Calitri as a pre-Christmas treat. It rates as my most favourite hotel stay ever!! It is such a beautiful building, with the most amazing furniture. The beds were fantastic and the bathroom had a roll top bath and a shower unit, so you benefit from the beauty of the traditional and the ease of the 21st century! The village itself is lovely and quaint. The old part is being renovated, and the new part has restaurants, small shops and is really traditional. The locals are really friendly and make you feel really welcome. The owners of the hotel are so welcoming! After ordering a twin room, they gave my friend and I a room each for the same price, both as amazing as the other! We were given a key to get us in and out of the hotel, so we could wander. Breakfast was lovely. I have travelled down to Calitri from Naples twice and from Rome once, and the roads are so easy to drive on. The majority of the trip is dual carriage way/ motorway, through the most amazing scenery. From Naples, you drive past Vesuvius and the whole landscape is mountainous and volcanic. There are beautiful lakes and a monastary close to Calitri which are well worth a visit. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel or a trip to this region and I look forward to returning soon.

This Bed and Breakfast is one of the most impressive I have ever stayed in. The house is so traditional and full of antiques. My Room was amazing with a wounderful view, the bathroom was awesome with a huge bath and a seperate shower and it also had a balcony. The breakfast was held in the wounderful dining room and there was plenty to eat, cereals, cheese, meats, breads, tea, coffee, orange juice. I only stayed here one night, but would definatly stay here again, I felt so relaxed after my stay here and totaly refreshed.

We have now stayed at this beautiful B&B twice. The welcome is always warm. The rooms stunning & the hosts (The local Baron & family) ever eager to assist . Attached to the B&B the Zampaglione's have now opened the most stunning resturant, serving traditional italian fare in a very Italian way (no menus). During the day we would wonder around the breathtaking little town being stopped by every passer by who wanted to admire our daughter or just chat. We also visited the lakes, local market and castle. Although cold & crisp the sun shone and was deligfhtfully warm. We will return again & again.
