A few things about us.... "Villa Delona maisonette villas compound is located in the fertile, picturesque valley of Eggares, in about 6 km from Chora Naxos and 7 km from the port. In the neighboring traditional village of Eggares you will find a few taverns with mostly Greek traditional food and a mini market for all your immediate needs. The distance from the villas to the village is about 300m on foot. The villas have access to a wonderful, natural, long, sandy beach with crystal clear waters, the Ammitis beach in about 800m walk through a beautiful path that crosses the valley. The whole area is serene and very peaceful. THE VILLAS: The four (4) maisonettes were built in 2002 and are designed for the ideal combination of holidays in a relaxed and cozy environment. The villas are spacious, at about 70-80 square m, airy and each one has surrounding yard of about 1acr, full of rose-trees, flowers, plants & trees. All villas have spacious verandas, balconies and a private swimming pool of about 30 square m. With hydro-massage. Private parking area is provided as well. Indoors and on the ground floor, there is a living room with a fire place, a dining room, a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with shower. On the upper floor, there is the main bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with bathtub. In-house facilities: Air-condition, satellite TV, ISDN Internet access and hair dryer. Services: Daily maid service and towel change. The Delona Villa compounds belong and connect with the management of the lovely Nissaki Beach Hotel, which is located in Saint George's sandy beach in Chora Naxos.

Peacefull private villas in the middle of nowhere. 7km from the port of naxos. Highly recomended to rent a car or scooter, the villas are bit of aside from everything. All the Villas have private outside pool and bbq-place. Our two floor villa had two bedrooms, large livingroom and good-size kitchen with washing machine. Villas are rounded by garden with lemon- orange- and blum-trees, there is also some herbs growing and all this is available for quests to use. House keeper came every day and pool was cleaned on a daily basis as well. On a first day there were a fruit basket, fresh eggs and a bottle of local red wine waiting for us. We stayed here for 4 days but I could imagine myself visiting there for longer time easily.

We booked a stay for a week in May. We were picked up from the associated hotel in town and driven to the Villa as we had. hired a quad bike for the week. The villa was lovely and a wonderful welcome basket awaited. The pool was great and the service everyday was perfect. The villa is 15 minutes out of town in a quiet valley with the sounds of the birds and chickens in the morning. The beach is close by. Would recommend this for a quiet holiday with a hire car or a quad bike. The villa has everything you need and has very comfortable beds. Wi-fi is excellent and there are several areas to sit and eat outside with either a barbecue or pizza oven.

We spent one glorious week with our two daughters at the Villa Delona during the last days of April/first week of May 2017. The villas (4) are amazing; they are truly an oasis nestled in a valley about 10 minutes from Naxos Town (Chora) among the olive, orange, and lemon groves. At the time we were there, the roses and hibiscus were blooming like mad, and walking outside into the fresh air in the early morning was like being in paradise! The owners encouraged us to pick the oranges and lemons for our own use (fresh oj in the morning and lemonade in the afternoons!) and even brought us just-laid eggs from their own chickens kept nearby (not to mention welcoming us to the villa with Naxian wine, honey, and preserves!). The villa itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with a fully-stocked kitchen and good beds. The daily expert cleaning by Valentina made our stay extra luxurious, and the pool was also serviced daily and crystal-clear; our kids were in heaven being able to come home from days at the beach only to dip in for some more fun. (They also made full use of the charming wooden playhouse set just behind the villas--as city kids, they truly thought they had fallen into a storybook.) Each villa also has a balcony with a wonderful view over the valley, as well as plenty of outdoor tables and chairs both on the balcony and by the pool/patio, so you can comfortably live outside as much as you like, which for us was pretty much all the time. A few notes--you do need a car to stay at the villa, but this is very cheap and easy and we were happy to have one for the week as we wanted to really explore the entire island. (And the 10 minute drive from Chora to Eggares is also quite beautiful.) We arrived by ferry and walked to the Enterprise car rental (10 min) which is right on the main drag of the port, then drove (2 min) to the Nissaki Beach Hotel (also central), which owns the villas. The kind owners then led us out to the villas and showed us around and made sure we were all settled in and oriented. So this was all very easy and manageable. As guests at the villas you have access to assistance 24 hours from the Nissaki front desk, so we were always able to call with questions and the hotel was very accommodating in every way. We truly fell in love with Naxos on this trip and I echo other reviewers in saying I would have been happy to stay for a few more weeks! Thank you, Villa Delona, for a wonderful stay! We look forward to visiting you again!

We loved Villa Delona. Naxos is a delightful Island, even in August! But Eggares, where Delona is situated, is approximately 10 kms out of town, away from the hustle and bustle of Chora or Naxos town. In a lush green valley, surrounded by fruit trees and vegetable gardens, the four detached villas are reached by following a dusty track from the main road, all neatly signed, and each with their own parking area. We stayed in Villa 3. The villa is lovely, ideal for four people or two couples, the furnishings are simple but stylish. A delightful welcome pack of fruit, vegetables, local wine, oil and eggs (and you can pick more from the gardens if you like: lemons, peaches, tomatoes, peppers etc) was greatly appreciated. With a nearby beach (good sandy beach, great for swimming) a wonderful private pool and some lovely restaurants in nearby Eggares (walking distance – take head torch or use phone app) and Galini, you don’t have to travel very far to eat and drink well. There is also a good local store in Galini, for excellent local bread, cheese, beer, coffee etc. But you need a car – something cheap and cheerful and certainly no need for a 4x4 - we used Fun Car & Rides and they were excellent. A trip to the delightful villages of Chalki, Filota and Aperathos are worth the effort. So too to some of the wild beaches to the north and west of the Island: Naxos is a delightful place to explore including the old town, with its charming bars and restaurants. (If you are going into town, park near the stadium, on the outskirts and then walk in – 10 minutes at the most, to avoid the challenges of negotiating the small, busy, packed streets of Naxos town.) As for Villa Delona, the place is immaculate, both inside and out. Air conditioned if you need it but with great space, inside and out, to simply laze around and enjoy the moment. The only slight annoyance was the poor quality of the wifi – I suspect it works fine when only one or two villas are occupied but we struggled to secure anything decent and had to go into town to check-in for flights etc – this is a very minor niggle and for some, it might even be a bonus! We stayed for seven days. We could have stayed longer. The owners and staff, based at Nissaki Beach in Naxos Town, could not have been more helpful or kind. They guided us in and looked after us at the end: thank you for this, it was much appreciated.

We stayed in Maisonette Villa 1 for 6 nights summer 2015. A lovely place, which we really enjoyed staying in while we were on Naxos. Really prettily decorated - traditional with a touch of modern. We made a few trips around the island and visited some great ruins, and excellent beaches - difficult to avoid getting lost there, which is part of the fun actually. Though it was tempting to just stay at the villa all the time as the place was so lovely. The pool is great for refreshing dips when the sun gets too hot. Not quite big enough for laps though! We enjoyed using the BBQ nearly every night and even managed to make a few pizzas using the pizza oven there in the garden! The village nearby has a local shop for emergencies plus a friendly taverna with great Greek fare there and friendly staff. The gardens are aplenty with vegetables and fruits growing there so we helped ourselves to a couple of lemons, figs and peppers there. There was a slight confusion when we first arrived from the ferry partly due to my bad planning I admit. We thought the meeting place (the sister hotel) was nearer the ferry port and that we could hire a car from there. However, it is a 15 min walk along the seafront (not so good in midday sun with heavy cases) so it would have been best for us to hire a car to pick up directly when we disembarked from the ferry, and then to drive to the hotel to check in etc. Anyway, it all worked out fine in the end. Oh by the way I would recommend the guys at Fun Car & Rides (tel: 22850 26084) the one just up on the side street from the port - they were super helpful and friendly.
