Lovely location with a good pool. Very close to sea area where there are lots of nice bars to watch the sunset. Rooms are clean and enough room, breakfast was good. We went out of season so area was quiet and easy to get around

We recently enjoyed a four night stay on this quaint, relaxing island. The hotel was clean and comfortable, as well as close to the beach. Our room featured a view towards the sea that worked well for catching sunsets and views of neighboring Paros. Staff were pleasant and accommodating (one or two shouted more than necessary), and food was good, traditional "home cooking" that featured a lovely breakfast (and even fresh squeezed orange juice and choice of coffees (traditional, Greek, espresso). The accommodating front desk staff even arranged for a car rental that delivered the car (and paperwork) to the hotel. It's not a 5 star, but it works well and a good value. The cats were the only drawback for us, (but they are everywhere in Greece), and the beach is public so you have to rent chairs daily, but a beach/bar located a short walk down the boardwalk provides comfortable lounges with umbrellas as long as you make a nominal purchase. You can easily walk to town and the port area. The "old town" area boasts a fascinating old castle surrounded by a labyrinth of shops and taverna (restaurants), churches, great views and architecture.

Although a little dated and in need of a bit of TLC, this hotel is perfectly located near the beach and within walking distance of bar and restaurants, and even the harbor. The breakfast was delicious with fresh food. The staff was very welcoming and helpful! The pool was kept very clean and was quite big. Very affordable, great price/quality ratio!!

We stayed in the new apartment #39- our family of four (husband and wife, and 14 and 12 year old kids). We were the first ones to stay in this wonderful modern updated apartment with a huge terrace overlooking the ocean, a jacuzzi, and ocean views from all the rooms except the children’s bedroom. The hotel is also perfectly situated, far enough away from town that you have more of a beach resort feeling, but close enough that it is easy to walk into town. The apartment is very well designed, charming and modern. We have stayed at five star hotels before and this was right up there for quality and comfort. There are two TVS, one in the master for the large bed, and one in the children’s area across from bunk beds. We did not try them out as we did not need them. There are two toilets, and a shower (no tub). Kitchen was fully stocked, but we didn't use it much as the breakfast was included in our rate and delicious. Breakfast at Alkyoni is wonderful, fresh fruit and vegetable pies, Greek yogurt, omelets, cakes, all freshly made by the hotel with enough variety so we were happy to eat there every morning. Lattes and freshly squeezed orange juice from the pool bar were top notch. We usually had lunch and dinner in town. One thing to know about Greece is iphones apparently have some difficulty here with the internet. We needed to buy a range extender for wifi in our room (the hotel gave us a ethernet cable to connect my husband’s computer which once connected was very fast. But our iphones did not work so well – one of the employees took out her android phone and we compared speeds of loading and her’s using same wifi was much faster. This is no reflection on the hotel, just an observation with regard to iphones. All the employees were lovely, friendly and helpful. The restaurants they recommended were all great choices, and Naxos, when compared to Mykonos (where we went for a day, and quickly returned to Naxos with relief) is much more reasonably priced. A few friends had suggested going to Mykonos and Santorini, but after reading reviews here we stuck with Naxos and I can say we were very happy with our choice, especially after visiting Mykonos for the day. Irini’s, Lucerro’s Vasillis, and Waffle House for crepes and ice cream is AMAZING with wonderful flavors. Flisvos restaurant next to Alkyoni has great food too if you do not venture into town (but town is easy walk on boardwalk of maybe 10 minutes.) Grounds are maintained enough, but not a resort type of upkeep felt more like a family run feeling. When I say this I mean the grounds are immaculately clean, but some of the flower beds were not perfectly weeded – but the lawns were mown. This did not bother us at all but it is the difference between some 5 stars we have been to where they change out a plant the minute it gets a brown leaf, here they have flower beds and that is enough. The views from the hotel are stunning enough that I did not really notice a little weeding, but I had read reviews previously that said grounds were not maintained. They are maintained well enough for a boutique hotel in Greece. Considering that the majority of hotels we saw in Naxos did not have any grounds at all we felt grateful to be surrounded by the beauty of this hotel. There is a little play area for the kids but mine are too old for it, they just wanted the beach. Water is very shallow and safe, and they have a lifeguard on the beach. We loved loved loved this hotel, and I would not hesitate to stay again. This hotel really made our stay in Naxos one to remember - thank you Hotel Alkyoni!

We recently stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderful vacation. We can't wait to return in the future! We are a family of 6 and stayed in a newly renovated suite. The room was great - quiet, clean, well appointed and plenty of space. The rainfall shower was really nice. It also had a large and beautiful patio overlooking the pool and St George Beach. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choices and all very tasty. We had several lunches and dinners at the hotel as well, including "Greek Night" with live music on Saturday night. It was a buffet dinner which, like breakfast, had many delicious food options. The staff was outstanding and really added a special touch to our stay. Katerina and Zoe at reception are so friendly and helped with any questions about Naxos, Alkyoni Hotel or our room. They helped us book a rental car for 2 different days. The rental car company drops the car at the hotel in the morning and picks it up at night - all coordinated through Katerina and Zoe - incredibly convenient. The staff at the pool and in the restaurant were exceptionally nice and treated us so well. Manolis and Patricia and others that I didn't know their names. They all worked very hard to ensure we were having a nice stay and always had a smile on their faces. The hotel pool was wonderful and the location of the hotel was perfect for us too - a 3-5 min walk to St George Beach (depending on where you want to sit on the beach). St George Beach has plenty of nice places to eat or drink during the day and watch the sunset or eat dinner by the beach at night. The walk to Naxos Town is 10-15 minutes - it's an easy walk along the beach and there are many great restaurants in town or by the port (maybe another 5 minute walk past Naxos Town) to choose from. We did the walk several nights with 4 young kids, it's very manageable and scenic. Thank you Alkyoni for a wonderful stay!
