We received the warmest welcome from any hotel we ever stayed here. They also offer free pick-up and drop-off. Lots of information and travel tips, welcome drinks, and smiles. Newly renovated, room very clean and the management adheres to very high hygiene standard - hand sanitizers everywhere and they serve you at the buffet style breakfast. We had a sea view room which made our 3nights stay wonderful. We had not encountered any tour groups - maybe it’s the end of the seasons. However, we noticed that some rooms could have zero views. Many good restaurants and the old town are within walking distance - however we don‘t recommend for people with movement disability - there’s indeed a small hill to climb as described by other tripadviser users. A car would be great - driving to the beach takes only a few minutes. However, if you dont intend to rent a car and just want to be next to the beach, this may not be a place for you. Depends on what kind of holiday you want, Hotel Grotta could be a wonderful place to stay/ base to explore Naxos.

I travel extensively and have stopped personally reviewing hotels, but still always use trip advisor to pick hotels. However the hospitality at this hotel was just unparalleled to any other hotel i have stayed in I felt the need to give a review. The family go beyond to make you feel at home and the hotel itself is more beautiful than the photos portray. The rooms are really big and comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast offerings have to be eaten to be believed, everything home baked and melt in the mouth, they are famous on the island of Naxos. There is a welcome drink and pie on arrival and they leave treats in your room during the day. They also provide a free pickup from port, but once at hotel and you get your bearings it is just a 5 minute walk to main hub for eating and drinking and exploring the town. The setting is stunning and peaceful, just book here you won't be disappointed.

Second visit for us. Felt like coming home. The welcome and hospitality was as warm as ever from Nikoletta, Marine and the team. Amazingly clean, relaxed, friendly and efficient. Even without the spa (covid) the Hotel Grotta cannot be beaten. Thank you Nikoletta.

I loved Hotel Grotta from the moment I walked in - airy, modern style and the magnificent view of the headland, Apollo’s Temple and sea. Such a peaceful hotel and yet within 6 or 7 minutes on foot you’re at the harbour with lots of bars and restaurants, and when you’ve tired of the bustle you can retreat to the tranquility with the view. We had a sea view room - very comfortable, and a lovely balcony to watch the sunset. The bed was large (UK superking), exceptionally comfortable and the room well appointed with slippers, safe, hair dryer and TV. Our bathroom was extremely clean and modern and finished to a high standard with nice toiletries. Nicoletta and Maria (and everyone) were exceptionally warm, welcoming and kind; nothing was too much trouble. There was such well thought and charming attention to detail and hospitality -such as daily treats left in our room and a complimentary bottle of family wine. The breakfast is amazing and would put many 5 star hotels to shame. Everything is fresh and home make, even the preserves (the fig jam was particularly deliciously favourite) savoury dishes, salads, local cheeses and sliced meats, traditional yogurt, cereals, juices and fresh fruit. And as if that wasn’t enough there is also a selection of delicious desserts that I believe are all home made. My favourite was the orange tart, the best in the universe. Grotta hotel is highly recommended and when I come back to Naxos I won’t try anywhere else, why would I, it was perfect.

We spent 5 nights at this hotel and have nothing but praise for it. Our room was attractive and well-appointed and benefitted from spectacular views over the Aegean and Naxos town from its terrace. Beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfasts are exceptional; quality, choice and presentation are second to none. Above all this hotel is run by people who evidently love their job and thus provide exceptional hospitality. I was really sorry to leave and hope to return.
