Studios in the center of Naxos. Friendly staff, they also gave us several tips, including bike rental. Wipes and sheets are changed every 2-3 days, cleaning daily. Small room but suitable for our needs.

Stayed in semi basement. Super nice rooms (perfectly clean, great air con etc) & brilliant service. Zero complaints in any way. Good location too.
Semi basement great value. Balcony is mostly sub-terrain but good open space

I have been a member of TripAdvisor for a number of years and have honestly reviewed many properties around the world. I have in the past seen negative reviews of hotels from people who go on to explain that they never actually stayed at the property. I always wondered how TripAdvisor allowed such reviews. Now I understand why.
I am not a jealous competitor nor am I a disgruntled former staff member.
I am a genuine traveller who booked this accommodation through this property through Booking.com as part of a month long tour of the Greek islands. The booking was secured using the same credit card as the other dozen or so properties booked via the same site. The booking was confirmed by email and I printed off all the details prior to setting off for Greece.
Then out of the blue (at the 11th hour) I received an email telling me that my credit card had been rejected. I immediately contacted my credit card company who informed me that they had not received any payment or other requests and had definitely not rejected anything. I asked the credit card to put a note on my account should any new attempts be made to make sure the request was authorised.
I then emailed the property via Booking.com to reaffirm my credit card details, adding that I was travelling to Greece that day and needed to confirm my booking.
The only response I received was a generic email to say my booking had been cancelled. No explanation or apology. I tried again to email them but got no reply. I tried to call them but no one answered.
Surprisingly I did another check on the web to see if I could re book. I found the room still available - but at double the price!
Is this just simple profiteering?
I don’t know the answer because they will not give any explanation.
Now I am spending my holiday time trying to sort out the mess and book alternate last minute accommodation at a much higher price.
I will be interested to see what the owners make of this review which will tumble them down the ratings.
What they need to understand is that they cannot treat guests with contempt.
Through TripAdvisor and other review sites we have a valued opinion.
This property may indeed be the best on the planet but communication is terrible

Budget studios, basic but clean. Fresh sheets and towels every other day, maid service daily. Fridge and usual two ring cooking. We had a basement room , didn’t suffer any untoward noise but didn’t get any sun either. Five minutes from the beach, mini market and bakery very close by and ten to twenty minutes walk to front and port area.

This is apartment/studio. Room is clean and neat. It comes w/ a small kitchen and attached shower room. The cleaner cleans the room daily and supplies new towels and she is very helpful. It's located not far off the center of the town (about 10min) and just next to the beach (less 3min walk). It's surrounded by good restaurants.

We loved Naxos and and the location of this hotel! Our room was really nice and looked recently renovated. It was very close to the beach, great restaurants, shops, and it was easy to walk to the center of town.
As we were on a budget, we planned to make use of the kitchen in our room. It had some of the basics, but we could have used a frying pan or at least a second pan (there were 2 burners, but only one pan). Also, in other vacation studios we've stayed in, there was salt and pepper for guests, dish soap and a scrubbing brush if we were expected to clean our own dishes. It would have been great to have these available.
Finally, there was rarely anyone at the front desk, which isn't a big deal, but the night before we checked out, we made arrangements to meet the owner at a specific time to settle our bill, but then he showed up at our door at a different time which I didn't appreciate because we were in the middle of packing and asked that we pay then because he had an errand to run.
Again, the rooms were nice, but there is room for improvement...

I stayed at Vassilikos studios for 2 weeks in June 2013 with my dog. The room was spacious and the balcony really comfortable. Both the owner, Mr. Yiannis, and the cleaning lady were very friendly and attentive. Mr. Yannis even picked us up from the port upon arrival. The room was very clean and the towels and bedlinen were changed daily. The free wi-fi worked great. It is well-located: 2-minute walk from the beach and 5-minute walk to the town centre. I really enjoyed staying there and definitely recommend it. Also very affordable prices.

Me and my family have been visiting Naxos for nearly half a decade and we have experienced the good and the bad, when it comes to hotels. Vasilikos Studios has been our choice for the last 2 years and we couldn't be happier. Location is perfect as it is literally 2 minutes away from Saint George Beach, and the main road with all the restaurants and shops is only 5 minutes away. Mr Giannis, the owner, was always attentantive, very friendly and helpful, a fact that made our stay even better. The rooms were great and spotless. The bedding and towels were changed daily, something that for us was a winning point. Overall, I totally recommend Vasilikos Studios. We will definitely be back next year xx

I stayed here 4-17 September on a “superior” room on second floor and I enjoyed my stay immensely! Usually I stay in hotels, but I liked those studios very much. They aren’t fancy, but they are very practical and if you look for a simple, clean and comfortable place to stay, look no further.
Mr Yiannis, the owner, wasn’t around very much but he was there to greet me on first day and assist with whatever I needed and it was easy to reach him on the phone too. Actually I liked my room and Naxos so much that I extended my original booking by 3 extra nights- and I wish I could have stayed longer.
The size of the room was very decent and it was nice to have someone taking away the trash and tidying up the room a bit every day. It was great to have the towels and bed sheets changed every couple of days while Kyria Maria, the cleaning lady, was lovely and we had some great chats about all kind of stuff (I am Greek).
This is not a luxurious place, but very adequate for a comfortable stay. There is a safe, small iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and a couple of cooking rings and some cooking equipment, dishes and cutlery too. I didn’t cook at all but it might be handy for people who wish to prepare some meals on their holidays. Of course there is a fridge. Air condition and WiFi were very good too.
An important feature for me was the shower which wasn’t a hole in the wall as it happens in many Greek places. While it wasn’t huge, it was a very comfortable size for me who I am tall and fat. There were sliding doors, no curtain, so I didn’t flood the floor and if that’s important for you, both an overhead and a hand-held shower head.
The room wasn’t huge but it was a very comfortable size, while the room I got on 2nd floor had a pleasant balcony, more like a rectangular small terrace with one table and two chairs and a small clothes’ rack to dry my swim suits.
As a side note, I talk here about a “superior” on second floor, I believe there are several types of rooms. if you aren’t familiar with Naxos have in mind that many buildings feature semi-basement rooms, these exist here too. Those usually are tagged “economy” and they are absolutely fine, but naturally a bit darker and your “terrace” might look directly at the feet of passengers on the street level. No problem, I would consider these for a shorter stay, but I preferred to have more light and comfort for a longer stay. Just somethings to keep in mind.
No views from my room on second floor, just looking the buildings opposite on the lane, but location is great. I was familiar with Naxos Island and I find St George area the perfect place to be based. Very easy walk to the town waterfront, port, old town and Kastro area, while been a stone’s throw from St George beach and all its amenities and also close to bus stops. St George area nowadays offers tons of choices for car/moto/ATVT hire, supermarkets, taverns, beach bars, laundromats, shops and all kind of stuff too. The lane where Vasilikos is located is quiet in general, so you can have an easy walk to have a good night out or sleep early and be as active as you want to be.
Naxos Island is on the rise during recent years -and that’s fair because it’s a great destination- but knowing a bit some of the properties around, personally I think some of them tend to charge ridiculous rates. I found Vasilikos very reasonably priced all things considered, which is important.
Last but not least, while searching months in advance for this holiday, I noticed that many places have a ridiculous cancelation policy. Often they make their bookings non-refundable several weeks or months prior to arrival date. I understand that businesses want to be covered, but many places took this to the extreme and I talk been in hospitality business myself. Vasilikos had a very reasonable cancelation policy and this was a huge plus for me when deciding where to book. Of course these things change, so check carefully before booking. But I believe the owner will keep his wits about this in the future and if so, don’t think twice!!!
Thank you Kyrie Yianni and Kyria Maria for a great holiday, I hope to see you again soon!
