Family of 4, with a 10 and 12 year old. We loved the castle. We ate breakfast and dinner at the castle. It was cheap, easy and relaxing for the kids. Everyone that worked there were very nice! It was a great experience. The kids enjoyed 1 Euro small slushies! We found a park by the river for the kids... More

As the name suggests, it's a castle! The building itself is impressive and worth sight-seeing. The view from the castle is amazing, as you can directly see the Rhine river. There are also plenty of outdoor seats in the castle and on the platform, where you could enjoy coffee, tea, or meals. It's easily accessible from the town center on... More

stayed one night in this hostel. Like many this has a level of whimsy. This is a great place for families and is a popular budget stay for locals who enjoy the Rhine river area. This is not for guests that have difficulty with stairs. No en-suite rooms. But it is a great way to experience life and travel like... More

We walked up to this castle from the town of Bacharach. Quite a climb up the hill, and we went into the bar for a couple of beers. There were children, aged about 8 - 12, shouting out of the windows above the main courtyard, and racing around in the bar. There were two young women sitting at a table... More

We stayed there for one night during a week long bike trip. We loved the idea of staying in a castle and heard so much about the panoramic view... Yes. The view is excellent, the castle is well maintained and nice to walk around. But that's all I can say for it. As cyclists, the last stretch up was a... More

My husband and I stayed here one night during a three night trip through Germany's Mosel and Rhein River Valleys. We booked a private room for two people, the website being entirely in German we weren't entirely sure what we were booking, which we found out was a tiny room with bunk beds. We checked in right as reception was... More

Very basic cramped room with bunk bed hostel. The Castle grounds are fun to explore with nice view of Bacharach The inside of the castle is not much to speak of. We booked months in advance a private room in the tower. We were given a private bunk bed room on the first floor. Noisy, unsupervised children running around all hours... More

I loved the idea of staying in a castle, was and even kind of excited that I had to hike to reach it. (I huffed and puffed up with a big backpack so for someone with a lot of luggage or out of shape this might be pretty difficult. As far as I know they don't offer a ride up... More

I spent a couple of nights here on our annual departmental retreat. The rooms are ok, beds tiny. Bathroom is clean. There is a weird smell in the whole structure. In some parts of the hostel wifi doesn't work. The main problem is the food: I wouldn't feed a dog with such food. I ate twice, and felt sick both... More

First off the region is awesome and beautiful stunningly so. I spent two day walking the trails laid all throughout town into the vineyards and woods. Now the hostel is in a great location you can see over Bacharach and you get to stay in a castle!!! If you have read the history the castle was rebuilt on the early... More
