The hotel looks Greek, two stories running low behind the dune line. Attractively decorated . The staff were very helpful . The rooms were modern with well appointed rooms. Our comfort ocean front had a double window that opened and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean. The bed was beyond comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. The lower floor ( more expensive) had a patio seating area but no view.
Nice location by the beach but this isn’t a 4 star hotel. Bit shabby round the edges and needs some TLC, not as good as the pictures. Breakfast was good but you have to be quick off the mark as they run out quickly. Evening meal was average, we only ate there once there is much better food on the island.
Despite negative comments, this is really a great place. If you are worried about the rooms, ask for one that has been redone. Ours was really nice, spacious, clean and with a very comfortable bed. Staff are very friendly and helpful, though overworked. Food is excellent, both in the hotel and the thalasso area. Fresh, creative and very tasty. We have no problems recommending this hotel
We have just returned home from a stay at this hotel for a week. Due to availability we first occupied a vineyard view room - it was grubby and dingy and the toilet smelled of urine. The entire hotel needs to be redecorated and cleaned. The sea view room we spent the last weekend in was an improvement but cramped and the loo still smelled - all of the toilets did. But the worst was our departure from the hotel a day earlier than booked!! The hotel made a mistake and booked our stay a day short. They packed our bags whilst we were on the beach then called us to ask when we would be back to pay the bill and take our luggage!! Of course we protested but were just met with indifference and extremely rude staff. Disgusting. Luckily we moved to another wonderful hotel in La Flotte - Le Richelieu which I would recommend and where we intend to return for our next trip to this place - if we decide we can stomach the inhabitants total lack of manners.…
Overall the hotel is nice, staff is friendly and the location is beautiful. We had a very modern room with a great bathroom. However, when we went to the spa we were a bit shocked. The floor was dirty, the changing rooms didn’t look inviting and overall the spa is not a place where you want to spend all day. If the spa would be changed and taken care of I think the hotel would be great.
We travel extensively for both business and leisure. One of our favorite activities is visiting local spas, Typically we get a massage in addition to using steam sauna and pool, if available. In this case we were excited to experience this Hôtel’s spa. The facilities look lovely. However, no infinity pool can make up for a generic indifferent 20-minute massage priced at double the cost of a full 60 minute version. There was no personalization at all. I felt like I was on an oily assembly line. Certainly it was pleasant and would have been more acceptable if appropriately priced. I had tried to get pricing info from the spa concierge but she would only let me glance at her “last brochure” before snatching it back. I was mystified by the utter lack of guest experience until I read some of the other reviews about overpricing.…
We stayed in hotel Atalante this month and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in a nice and quiet area on the Rhe Island, there are beautiful ocean surroundings to experience. We visited the spa area, but that was somehow disappointing- the pool area is very small and was packed with elderly people - probably attending a theme thalasso week. It was difficult to take dinner at the gourmet restaurant due to being also overcrowded. The food was high quality and really gourmet, however prices were way above family budgets. In general we were happy with our stay, but this mainly due to the generous nature beauty at the island and less due to the hotel facilities. The personnel was always very kind and attentive. Hotel needs renovation. The conditions of the rooms and spa area don‘t correspond to the high price standard. So if you search better - you will definitely find better placed on this amazing Atlantic island.…
We booked through Secret Escapes and at 550 for 2 nights this wasn't especially cheap. We had booked a deluxe vineyard view and found ourselves in the disabled room. Unlike all the other rooms the loo isn't separate, it's so high my feet dangle, the basin is low and the shower has a stool. I asked if they had a sea view room available and the answer was yes, a standard room but despite being smaller it would be another 59 per night. This always seems stingy when there are available rooms. We didn't move. Breakfast is busy but good. Many screaming kids and a bit of a race at the buffet but it is replenished regularly. We didn't try the restaurant. There are so many lovely places to eat. It was nice to get one day cycle hire included. It seemed again a bit stingy to charge for a second day given that there were innumerable bicycles not being used. The bikes are well maintained which is good. The pool is at the adjoining spa, quite a walk away. The changing rooms at the pool resemble our local municipal pool and could be improved. Staff there are grumpy and yesterday everyone was unceremoniously told to leave the indoor pool before 7pm and the doors were locked. The outdoor pool is busy. The treatments are expensive 59 for a manicure, 99 for a 50 min facial or massage. There is a beach in front but there are much nicer beaches at the top of the island. …
Very basically decorated rooms resembling student block accommodation. Ply board dividing walls and tiles painted over. No air-conditioning or meaningful coffee making facilities - (i.e. no coffee-making machine.) Our room did not even have a fridge - let alone a minibar. Carpet in our room was filthy and whole block was dusty.) All-in-all not what you would expect for a hotel of this type and price. This hotel is in the middle of nowhere ( which I appreciate is a bonus for some) but hotel does not lay on shuttle facilities to permit easy access off site. This is despite a hotel MPV constantly parked outside. Lastly, guests are charged high prices for "privilege" of using the small pools which were invariably packed with kids playing on over-sized inflatables when we looked..... All in all much better value at this price elsewhere. Note: restaurant however very good.…
We were in ile de re in the height of the season where there were crowds everywhere except at this resort. I am disabled and they couldn't have been more helpful to me. Sainte Marie is well worth a visit and it has very nice restaurant too.
