We were looking for a pet friendly hotel to get out of the DC area for a weekend break. The Shenvalee hit the spot, and was an undexpected 'find'. Fair prices, perfectly fine accommodations (ok, rooms are old, but well kept, recently renovated, and if you ask for a golf course view, provides a spectacular vista of the mountains) and... More

Shenvalee is a great place to have a fun weekend golf getaway for large groups. We have been visiting Shenvalee for over 10 years. The golf is great. The course will challenge the higher handicaps, but fairly easy to lower handicaps. Don't expect the rooms to be like a Marriott or Hampton Inn. The rooms at Shenvalee are old, but... More

Our group of 4 lady golfers stayed for 3 days of golf. We had a really nice stay. The most outstanding thing we appreciated was the hospitality. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ate at Miller Grille every evening. Had a great breakfast each morning (included in our package) A very nice buffet was set up, you could make... More

My husband ordered the fish and chips, didn't expect Mrs. Gordon's frozen fish! I had the loaded nachos and they came "unloaded" (no chili). We would not recommend this place to eat. The gold course might me ok but......

Golf course is in great shape.Beautiful views. As long as you like hills and blind shots, you'll enjoy the courses. Breakfast is served mildly warm. No waffles. Dinners are not tasty -- overcooked burgers, bland spaghetti, rubbery meatballs and dry chicken. Servers are overwhelmed - not enough staff.

This was our first stop on a 6-week trip down south last winter, and we are making it our first stop again this year, but a month later. Did not know anything about this place until we passed thru New Market. A very reasonably-priced, clean, beautiful room was available overlooking (practically on) the golf course. We ate dinner and breakfast... More

An old style motel, but freshly painted and very, very clean. A great value. Front desk, Tory, very friendly and helpful. The place was pretty empty, so we can tell about noise from adjacent rooms. Internet fine,

Take one more turn off the freeway. This place is clean and well kept and off the interstate so it is quite. It is better than other places in town and much nicer grounds. Nothing like having a golf course out your back door. Excellent free Wi-Fi.

My husband and I stayed at this resort overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The golf course is beautiful and the staff is friendly. Rooms are standard. the walls are thin and unfortunately we had noisy neighbors. Food at the grill was fine and the staff was very friendly. Due to previous bad reviews about the staff I was pleasantly surprised.... More

A group of us have been coming here for fifteen years. The group has grown to 36 and it's one of the few places around that can accommodate that large of a group. The rooms are not fancy but they are clean and well kept. There is a lot of socializing going on and the hotel, lounge, and restaurant gives... More
