Our son plays for the New Market Rebels and we made a trip down to VA to watch him play. Hubby booked this place because the price was reasonable and it was close to our son. We stayed in one of the 2 Queens Motel style rooms. The bed and linens were very comfortable. The room was extremely clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had lunch at the on-site Millers Grill. Food was great and very reasonable. It was fun chatting with the golfers as they came in to replenish their cold drinks or top up their ice. I was also surprised at how quiet the guest room was, even though there was another couple staying next door. They must have good soundproofing. There’s a cute little front porch to sit out on and a pool (although we didn’t use the pool and hot tub ). The AC was nice and cold. The shower was hot with decent water pressure. Honestly, my only complaint was the complementary soap was horrible and there were no shampoo or conditioners. I try to pack light when I’m only going to be away for a few days. I suggest you bring your own toiletries. The bathroom was a little dated and small, but it was absolutely clean and serviceable for 2 people. Not sure it would work for 4. If we make any more trips to this area, we will definitely stay here again!

Another great weekend at this resort. We are never disappointed in our accommodations, food or golf. We really like the idea of not having to get in the car and drive to find a place to eat. The Miller Grille is a great place to eat, right there in the resort. Everyone is so sweet, polite and welcoming. Those who make it special are Torie and Kim in the main office, Sis in the Pro Shop, and Joyce in the breakfast room. We love you all, and can't wait to see you again in the Fall.

I stayed at the motel for a few nights during the Marge Moyers golf event. The rooms were quite nice...older fixtures but overall not bad. I would stay there again. I also enjoy playing the golf course. It was in pretty good shape and I love some of the views

1st time visiting the resort. Spent 3 nights there and enjoyed every night. Food was good, rooms were clean and people were very friendly. Although it rained on the 1st day and we could not golf, there is nothing we could do about the weather. Best part is everything is there. We parked our vehicle on a Thursday and did not have to drive anywhere again until we left on Sunday

I would like to begin this review by saying this . For 36 of the last 40 years this was a wonderful place to stay and play golf . The last 4 years I have watched it sink to new lows . I had a long conversation with one of the share holders of the Resort While on my last visit to the golf course . Our Sperow Group has been visiting for longer than I have been visiting the Shenvalee . Sharing the bathroom with Silver fish , lots of flies and Cockroaches is not an inviting thought . however that was our situation . The breakfast buffet was empty after only 10 minutes of being open . We had to ask a server if she could ask the chef to refill it . The port-a-potties on the course were horribly filthy , needed emptying and had no toilet paper . ( the head of housekeeping needs to find a new job ) The bright spot of the resort was , the course was in fantastic shape . The Miller Grille was also to my liking .. I did only get a drink and an order of their homemade potato chips . After 40 years of staying at the resort , I can no longer stay in their rooms or pay for their breakfast buffet . Just off route 81 is a Quality Inn . It is not a 5 star hotel but it sure beats sharing the bathroom with all of those bugs !!!
