My husband and I stayed three nights at this beautiful bed and breakfast, which overlooks the Dordogne River and the Castelnaud castle. What a magnificent view, b & b and charming hostess. Nathalie went out of her way to suggest daily itineraries to maximize our time in this spectacular part of the world. Her English is terrific, which is a... More

My husband and I stayed 4 nights here. We arrived after a very long drive from Normandy. She had a great suggestion for us for dinner that was close by & made a reservation for us. The next morning she helped us with canoe trip reservations & directions into Sarlat for market day. We found Natalie to be gracious, informative,... More

Nathalie gave us a lovely welcome on our arrival at her beautiful bed and breakfast. Her property is stunning and is authentically decorated in medieval style in keeping with the theme of the Castle at Castelnaud of which it has stunning views. The bedrooms are fully equipped with comfort and during the hottest day the air conditioner provided welcome relief... More

I normally try to be as fair and objective as I can, but If you want my advice, I would give this place a miss. The lady claims she is selling it, and so she should as her idea of bed and breakfast is not what I expect. Read my review and you will see why. She is a nice... More

I stayed for two nights at Le Lys de Castelnaud, and would happily have stayed for more. Nathalys was very welcoming and helpful. She is full of suggestions and information about the region, and passionate about the medieval history in the area. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. With the window open and the fan running, it was... More

I travel a lot and I've stayed in many places, but I've never stayed anywhere as good as Le Lys de Castelnaud. The rooms are gorgeously decorated and the combination of fans in the room and air conditioning in the common area kept our rooms cool at night. Breakfast was lovingly served on a beautiful balcony overlooking the river with... More

Nathalys is a wonderful host, very communicative, very helpful, big fan of Medieval Age, and a free thinker. She has turned the house into a little friendly château of its own flair. Rooms are cosy, views on nice and old châteaus "en toutes directions". Achso, ah oui, I see!

Lys de Castelnaud proved to be a great B&B experience for our stay in the Dordogne and our first nights in France. The setting is wonderful and the rooms are very attractive and very comfortable. We enjoyed Nathalys’s dining room with Medieval décor, two standing knights in armour and countless reminders of Jean D’Arc. But most of all, we enjoyed... More

We had visited the Dordogne area before but this time came back with friends. They took the gite and we stayed in an upstairs room. Wow!!! We can see the Castelnaud high on top of the green mountain from our window and when it was lit in the evening the view was breathtaking. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully... More

Lys de Castelnaud is perfectly located, in under 5 minutes we drove to Beynac, Castelnaud, Les Jardins de Marqueyssac, and La Roque Gaegac. All of those places are facinating and if you are reading this review and don't know what they are, Google them. There are other interesting places to see nearby that we did not have enough time to... More
