Basic rooms standard, decoration of the 1980th, clean. we experienced Slovakian charms and mainly Slovakian cuisine. Contradictory dining experience: Where dinner of half board scope was found on the lower end of ranking, the new years "Gala dinner" was excellent and tasty (Pumpkin soup, Pork fillet, Panna Cotta.

We want to write that we had wonderful time in Badgastein in Haas hotel. We were very fascinated about ther hospitality and kindness. Mister Askin was always prepaired to answer on our questions about trips, weather conditions ... We really felt like home as we were there ... And at the end of skiing those relaxing saunas and afterward delicious dinner with huge salad menu. Great! And of course in the morning breakfast: we missed nothing. We reallly recommend you to come!

Very nice hotel with good atmosphere, lovely staff, perfect place - near to slopes (cca 3 km) but not in the rush of Bad Gastein city, it is very peacefull area. Right in front of the hotel is cross country track and begining of the Elisabeth promenade - nice for walk along the stream to Bad Gastein - amazing city!. Breakfast is perfect, dinner is little bit worse as there are just two meals to choose from. i was ok with that but somebody maybe can have problem to choose. But there is a soup every day and lot of salads, so if you dont like the meals of the day, you can stuff yourself with soup and salads and there is aslo some dessert every day :-) so you will not be starving for sure :-) really recomend this hotel.

This is the worst hotel I have ever been and I am spending 6-8 weeks with groups in different ski resorts.
- the food is uneatable
- the owner is crazy, rude and it is imposible to discuss with him (it is a pity I can't use stronger words)
- it is one star hotel max.!
- rooms are very small, old and in whole building stinks
If you want to spend worse ski week in your life go there...

The hotel and the room are clean and that's the only positive thing about it. Rooms are old fashioned, we were stocked with 4 persons in a 2 persons room (i had to move a bed to get into mine), you can't change the room's temperature and don't try to take a shower coming back from a ski day, because there is no hot water for everyone.
Breakfast is ok, dinner is just a waste of money with a main course existing of dry, very well done meat with potatoes, rice or pasta. Dessert is ridiculous.
You can order a drink after your meal, but don't call it a bar as the owner doesn't want to spend any money on staff. So it closes early and when they expect too much guests the next morning there is nothing to be ordered. The bar stays closed.
This is officially a 4 star hotel, you pay for it, but you get a 2 star quality room and they should be ashamed to serve that kind of food.

Otherwise, the hotel is away from the center Badgastein and consequently the associated slope, which means the daily movement with the car, but it is on very nice location. In summer time you can used nearly a walking path with a fishpond, in winter time, is a well maintained ski cross-country track for all categories, which also allows night skiing, because it is all lighted.
The staff is friendly, so that you feel may be quite familiar, perfectly goes well with sauna on cold days, which is quite nice and free on full board guests.
Food is not bad, but not much choice for dinner, breakfast sufficient to satisfy all tastes and needs.
Ski resorts around Badgastein are perfect for all skiers, well settled and devices are relatively new and maintained. Badgastein and the whole valley is a traditional spa location at which also non-skiers find a good deal for a day.

This could be a good hotel. I stayed 3 nights, the hotel itself and rooms are fine but the staff is strange and dinners are disaster.

The staff is strange - the reception is always empty and is not open 24 hours which is strange for a hotel. The room keys are accessible to anybody who passes by, there is no one to hand in the keys in the morning, the only option is to leave them on the counter making them available to anybedy. We were not allowed to settle the bill the night before departure but we were told we must pay in the morning. At dinner you get the bill for drink before you finish eating. Chambermaids tend to move your things more than you would expect, they nock things down from tables or once they put my suitcase on top of my bag with personal belongings.

Breakfast is fine, typical Austrian style which you get in many other places but the coffee from an automatic machine is awful, neither tastes nor smells like coffee.

Dinners are a disaster - soup, a choice of only two main courses one of which is always vegetarian and a ridiculous desert (such as two slices of preserve pineapple with some apple stew on it). This is a 4 star hotel so the food is totally inappropriate. The main course is always bland and it seems the cook wants/must be on a tight budget. The cook simply cannot cook.

We have spent 5 nights at this hotel. We were surprised how good we feeled. The room was confortable, clean, warm (when outside temperature was -13C). The bathroom was equipped with a huge tub to warm-up after a day of skiing. The restaurant was nice, the food was pretty good and the staff was attentive and professional. There is also a sauna. The surroundings are beautiful. I would come back to this hotel. I am sure in the summer it is at least as attractive as in the winter. And the price reported to their services beats the competition.

I went on my first ski vacation with my Danish family. We had a great time. The reason we did was where we choose to stay "HAAS Hotel."
The HAAS sits at the foot of a beautiful mountain range and 10 meters from a great cross country ski trail, cozy rooms respectful cautious helpful staff and great meals.
HAAS is also located a few minutes from the free ski bus which takes you only 5 fives to the ski lifts . After a day of on the slopes our rooms were clean and had a fresh aroma in the air, all the rooms had great views from there balconies we had three rooms so I had the chance to seem them all.
Dinners were a good mix of vegetarian and meat and started with a full self served salad bar and ended with a different desert each night.
The owner was very good and added a great personality to his establishment he often stayed after hours if we wanted to have a coffee or a lite drink at the hotel bar after dinner. He was also instrumental in helping us recover a bag we left at a restaurant on the slopes and ensured we made it to our transportation when we were leaving by driving us and our luggage free of change to our ski bus.
If you in Bad Gastein and you are looking for a hotel with world class service friend staff and great location the HAAS Hotel is it I give it 5 stars and will recommend it and stay there the next ski vacation.*…

We have again spent fantastic time in Hotel Haas. We really appreciate their hospitality, warm greetings every morning and evening and their sympathic attitude to guests. There is nothing to complain about, because everything is just fine and we wanted to share that with you … It is a hotel nicely renewed and you can still feel austrian history in it … A nice combination of everything. And that we don't forget: there is one of the best ski resorts and beautiful nature.

We will again go back there … Tanja and Vlado from Slovenia

"We had a room with windows to the way and cross-country track (nr.121) and it was perfect, on the other side of the hotel is a church ringing a bell at 7am and 7 pm, so our room was better - nice view and the way is really not busy, it is the way only to this hotel. (dead-end street) so don´t be worry about any noise from that way :-)"
