We booked well in advance and since then there have been some management changes but they seem now to have been resolved. Our answers prior to arrival were answered swiftly but there was a slight inaccuracy on the restaurant. We were arriving late and asked about timings, to be told that the restaurant was open till 2300. That was the...

We have been to Villa Solitude twice and have en enjoyed it big time! We will strongly recommend to take half board. Then you will have your dinner in the most delightful restaurant "Lutter & Wegner" at the basement of the hotel. The food is close to gourmé standard and you will not find it better anywhere in town. And...

We only spent one night at Villa Solitude, but we wished we could stay much longer. Built by a baron in 1838, the mansion has been completely upgraded, while retaining all of the most spectacular architectural components. Our room on the ground floor had superb parquet wood flooring and wood paneling. Even the 15' ceiling was carved wood! The bath...

This charming pension lies in the former home of a count, who built it for his family in the late 19th century. We were lucky to get one of the rooms in the aisle, with windows in several directions and towards the waterfall of Bad Gastein. The atmosphere is very personal. There is a living room on the main floor,...

The Good: We had a delightful 3 night stay at villa solitude. Very good overall experience. It's a hotel with B&B feel. Likely the best in Bad Gastein. Spacious rooms. Staff is superb, very hospitable. They leave you be. Your personal breakfast, great! Location with terrace views of the village and waterfall. Parking in front of the hotel. Top 5...

We spent one night in transit to Slovenia in this spectacular guest house. The deck is to die for, hanging over the ledge with the raid river and waterfall some 100+ feet below. There is no need to look where to eat at night as the restaurant is 4+ stars as well. Would love to be there in the winter...

Stayed only one night but everything was perfect. The room was excellent, very large with everything you would expect in a four star hotel! The Restaurant and Wine bar were an added bonus. We had a fantastic meal in the evening on the terrace overlooking the waterfall- very relaxing! Breakfast was just as good and all served to the table!...

Three night stay in a fine old house in Bad Gastein...... an excellently spacious room gave a view across the river valley and the waterfall that runs straight through town because it can't be bothered to go round. A very good dinner with a chirpy helpful waiter/maitre d' and a fine choice of wines..... they do very good wines including...

From check-in to check-out this was a truly brilliant experience! We stayed for a week in July when things are quiet in the area so everyone had more time for the few tourists around but we felt this was just adding to the charm of this pleasant villa. You probably would have expected a room like this a hundred years...
