More than a place in the world, a house is a place in one's heart. El Patio del Malinche is more than just another hotel, it's a dream come true. Our interest to live in a different culture and to get to know new horizons took us to the ancient town of Granada. The sun-dried bricks of Granada's old walls and the hospitality of its people bewitched us. By restoring an old colonial house we relived a life of peace and serenity created by its inside patios full of history. We hope our guests will be able to revive and share with us the atmosphere of other times. We will be delighted to share our house, where life pours from every corner.

This hotel is located in an excellent location - only a couple of blocks from the main square. On my arrival a large group was expected so I was upgraded from a standard to superior room at no extra cost. The room and bathroom were large with TV, WiFi and a very efficient ceiling fan.
There was 3 choices for breakfast that you ordered the night before letting then know what time you wanted it. I went for the “Malinche” each day and consisted of a plate of fresh fruit to start with juice, followed by eggs, sausage, bacon toast and jam. You helped yourself to coffee and tea. The pool was clean and refreshing and separate pool towels were offered. The staff were friendly and helpful and always ready to help if required. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had an enjoyable stay at Hotel patio del Malinche. The Room, Staff, and Grounds exceeded our expectations. It is an Oasis inside the City that is very relaxing. Breakfast was included and consisted of a full American Breakfast. Many other choices were available.

What more could you ask for in a hotel in Granada?
It is in one of the best locations right in the centre of the city, within 1 minute walking distance of the calzada, with all the bars and restaurants and 2 minutes from the beautiful Cathedral and Central Park. The hotel has the advantage of being completely self contained in a traditional colonial style and so is very peaceful whilst being close to all the amenities.
The rooms are well proportioned with everything you could need, with comfy beds, ac and a pristine en suite. The breakfast is filling and of a high quality.
The gardens are open and airy with a lovely pool too.
I would book to come again as I felt very welcome and I enjoyed my stay.

Very beautiful and cozy hotel with wonderfull owners and staff. Very quiet modern A/C which I appreciated a lot. And the breakfast with fresh fruits Just is a great start in the day. The hotel offers also day passes which is a great choice for people who just want to enjoy a day trip to Granada. The owners know a huge lot about nearby but also far sites to visit and are always helpful with information and logistics.

The Price is more than reasonable.

Spent a week at this lovely hotel. Rooms were simple: clean, comfortable . Location was just perfect for us, close to all the main eateries, the central park, the cathedral, the chocolate museum, the town's museum and a short walk from the lake.

The staff were wonderful, so helpful and friendly and always went the extra mile.

We had a lovely, relaxing and most enjoyable stay here, our first trip to Nicaragua. And Granada itself is a lovely lovely place for a holiday. We loved the market, the churches the islands, the volcano , the Apoyo Laguna and the fantastic atmosphere of Calle la Calzada and its restaurants and the surrounding areas.

Loved dropping into the swimming pool at the end of a hot day's sightseeing before relaxing in a rocking chair or hammock before hitting the town for dinner and a post prandial drink or two.

Would highly recommend this lovely place.

This Hotel is a oasis in the center of Granada. The beautiful old patio's represent the traditional style of a Nicaraguan home and the cultural background of it's people. The breakfast was excellent, staff were great and the gardens kept meticulously. The location is excellent for exploring the city, at just the right walking distance to be out of the noisy main street. The pool is a bit small, but perfect for a splash after a hot day.
It's just the perfect hotel at the perfect spot. Maybe the beds are a bit firm, but in the tropics that's often a plus, because of the heat...

I've stayed in several hotels in Granada including Tribal and Colon Plaza. I was delighted by this one - the colonial courtyards, pool and bar area, the artwork thoughtfully curated from local organizations. A courteous staff, a welcome reception, and I was able to choose a room near the pool and they served me breakfast extra early. I parked right out front. So quiet for being in the middle of everything.

Hotel Patio del Malinche is your home away from home while visiting the beautiful colonial town of Granada in Nicaragua. The owners Ramon and Lidia were extremely friendly and the hotel staff was very attentive. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The place is very clean and beautiful. I especially enjoyed having a delicious, traditional Nicaraguan breakfast every morning sitting in their peaceful courtyard overlooking flowers and a birdbath. I highly recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to staying here again on my next trip to Granada. Thank you!!!

What are the breakfasts like? Are they buffet style?

When we stayed at the Patio del Malinche they did not serve a breakfast buffet, but instead offered choice between different options, e.g. yogurt with granola and fruits or a great (giant!) fruit platter. We really liked it! Good quality of ingredients, adequate dish sizes and an excellent coffee. I am not sure if they may adapt in accordance with number of guests (we were very few back then), but I can say that we didn't miss a breakfast buffet. :)

It's not a buffet. You get to choose from two or three options. One is a typical Nicaraguan breakfast. All of the choices are good!
