I've run into Hostal Esfinge (which means "sphynx" in Spanish) quite accidentally: after I found that the place I had wanted to stay it was all full, I started following Calle Atravesada toward the center of the city, and here I saw a rather striking building: it was build a century ago to be grand, and now it still was... We stayed here for 1 night as it was the cheapest option we could find and it seemed clean and decent. For $12 a night you get a small private room with a double bed an a fan, shared but clean bathroom and a shared kitchen. It's a beautiful colonial building and lots of space to sit and hang out.... My girlfriend and I just arrived in Granada from Rivas and had no idea where to go. We needed a place for a night because we had some other plans. So we passed this place and thought it might be expensive because it's located in the main street close to the local market and right next to the supermarket Palí... More

We stayed here two nights with some friends. The rooms are standard for Granada and the hostel has the feel of a convent with religious shrines littered about this old building. Whilst none of this is negative our experience definitely was; of the 6 months we have been travelling this is the worst we have been treated. The security guard... More

This is a really lovely place to stay. Locally run and nice and convenient to market, shops, Central Park, and bus station. I was sick with a viral infection and the lady helped call the doctor and translate for me. She even sent someone to buy a thermometer for me, gave me food to eat and looked after us. She... More

Absolutely loved this place. The elderly couple were amazing looked after us so well. They we're so kind and lovely. We stayed for a few nights and we were all really sick and they looked after us all. We broke our fan and they replaced it immediately for us without a fuss. Gave us maps and directions. Got doctors for... More

Although fairly well priced, this hostel has very few customers and it's for a reason: the elderly couple who own the place are prejudiced and stingy to the point that it becomes a bother even to connect to the internet. The hostel is located in front of the old market near everything good and bad: shopping, cheap food and street... More

surrounded by the chaotic, Noisy and fascinating market, Pali and bus station, this place provides very small room but the commune area with its hammacks is very enjoyable and so is the commune kitchen and the ping pong table. the old couple that runs the place is strict (no monkey business around), and so we felt safe and they are... This hotel is located on the end of the market street so it can be a little difficult to get to and from it when you need to as there is a lot going on in the street during the daytime. The rooms are nice and spacious, we paid for a double room with air conditioning at what we thought... More
