Let start with the positive... Location is remote and calm. The beach is good. The hotel is well integrated into the jungle and the diversity of rooms offers a wide choice for all budgets from standard room to beach villa. Good house keeping and spa too. In a nutshell this hotel have all ingredients to be one of the best hotel in koh chang. Still the place do not meet the minimimum expection level and bring issues to consider from minor to really serious. =>Service Staff, bad to inexistent. What to say, sometime I simply had to give up and exit from the hotel to get the food as waiting time to get it exceeded the hour. They explain the have a lack of staff. Fair enough but not my problem. Same way, do not expect support from reception for transfer booking or PCR test. You are left on your own. Bad. => F&B below average. Is it normal half of the products are stock out. Coffee machine was down on breakfast. => Maintenance is not done. tap of the Jaccuzzi was broken. Shower bar too. Lots of details fix needed. Door external door has disapeared from some villa... => Gardening not done. This is extremly sad had dead leaves are not collected for instance. Usually Thailand set a high benchmark but surely not there. =>Then at the end we suspect breach in health safety protocols that was for us the biggest concern. We (all member of the family) have been sick during the stay and I mean seriously. We are seasoned travellers and this has never happened like this and that bad especially in thailand. Discussing with other foreign guests we were not the only one affected. Clearly at this moment this is a NO GO. I even suggest Accor auditor and TAT safety should have a look to the place. At the end, I feel bad for Accor. I am a loyal customer and I trust their quality and endorsement. They clearly failed this time. It was impossible to find a manager in charge to share our concerns during the stay. Let see if someone from the accor has something to say lloking at this report.

The Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway Hotel: I stayed here for two nights October 2021 and I was very pleased with everything the hotel had to offer. I thought the resort was nicely designed there was a reasonable size swimming pool which kept the same depth of water, and next to the pool was the beach front where there was plenty of loungers to be had a beach bar was open for various refreshments the beach had good quality sand and no pebbles. My room type was: Standard with King Size bed. My room was a nice size and there was a large bed which was very comfortable, inside the wardrobe there is a safe deposit box, 2 umbrellas, and slippers, with enough coat hanger too. In the bathroom was a good size bath a nice shower cubicle with a rain shower head as well as a smaller one, Everything was clean and nicely laid out and refreshed every day. Outside the room was no more than a very small garden area which was completely close in on all sides. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment but it was a buffet version. We did have our evening meals in the restaurant and they were tasty and there was a reasonable selection in their menu. The price I thought was expensive but that is quite the norm when dinning in many hotels. The hotel site is in a fairly quiet area as you would need to get a ride to where there was a good choice of facilities, but if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of a noisy resort then pick the Macure koh Chang to be fare I was here in late October and many places was still closed. The swimming pool and the area surrounding it are very nice. This was my first stay here and I have been satisfied with my stay. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. I have stayed at The Macure within this group at other resorts and have always been satisfied but I would not book this particular resort again because where it is situated, other than that it is a nice hotel.

I stayed for 3 nights and got no electric for 3 nights some night took around 4 hours that mean no air condition. Moreover, the main light in bathroom was break down and required to call the room service to fix it. The electric problem was cause me more than that I got the low quality of sleeping because of hot weather and pillow was smelly that was not end of my disaster. I ordered small water and I got big one, so the waitress changed to small, but charged me the big one. But it still have a good thing that the breakfast was good taste and variety of food. I stayed near the beach and felt good to hear the wave.

Had couple of small issues upon arrival, but were dealt with very profesionaly by the friendly reception staff.. The room was in my opinion of high standard and very clean, after reading reviews regarding the beach wasnt very good, again in my opinion it was fine, just need to buy a pair of shoes that are designed to walk in the sea with, and problem solved as it is stoney, but issue easily resolved, location was good, not to busy but couple of places near by to buy drink and food from.swimming pool was nice, but the jacuzis on the side nead to be maintained, as its a shame to see them not in the best of conditions.. The grounds are kept nice and clean, with good parking.. Overall a very good stay and would recomend this hotel.. Again just remember to take shoes to go into the sea with and in my opinion youl have an excellent stay at this hotel.. And thank you for excellent service from the reception staff..
