Located in the heart of Myanmar, 67 km east of Mandalay, in the highlands of the Mandalay Mountains, the city has a cool climate and was used as a summer residence by the British until the Second World War. At an altitude of 1070 meters, the Aureum Palace Hotel & Resort, Pyin Oo Lwinis not only a hotel with garden bungalows that offer all the famous Aureum comfort, but also the completely restored residence of the former British governor of Burma. Where once officers, lords and ladies sought refuge from the summer heat, conferences, weddings and business meetings take place today in a nostalgic colonial flair.Even the journey from the busy town of Mandalay is worth the visit. There is only one direction while on the serpents to Pyin Oo Lwin: upwards. Enjoy the elegance and splendor of the past and traditional luxury in a unique colonial style where you can experience the ambience of a century gone while enjoying the modern facilities of luxurious bungalows.

I have stayed 3 times in Aureum Palace Resorts in beautiful Maymyo , Fantastic luxury architect which shown this hotel also perfectly designed for luxury accommodations and obviously value for money If you are in the mountains region mostly you are looking for a good accommodation, clean room, nice decorations, beautiful landscape, this hotel have this all the things, even the hotel room needs to be refurbished but still they maintained well , Staff are cheerful always ready to help if we are talking about services Myanmar staff are they are really good for impressions, only Management need to brush the knowledge about the services. Breakfast can be improved but you have a simple decent breakfast, I was wondering hotels owned the biggest orange garden at Maymyo but in the hotel breakfast we cannot see ay orange, My opinion like this orange definitely adds the hotel values. as most of them are not very rush in the breakfast as everyone's going for leisure, even hotel have big local groups all rooms are bungalow type even have big crowed in the hotel cannot see that how hotel designs . just few walk Hotel Owned beautiful Governor house and able to visit to that bungalows, very attractive. only weakness I've seen hotel need a good refurbishment as a property is the most exclusive and brush and training the staff it will bring the property to high standards.

Apart from a few cars and horse carriages and a small display of wax figures there is not a lot to see. You do get a free cup of tea or coffee but not worth the entrance fee. Spend your time viewing other attractions in Pyin Oo Lwin.

This place is outdated. I know there’s the history and all but it’s run down. The only thing that’s clean are the sheets and towels. The bathroom smells so strongly of mothballs that the entire bedroom stinks if it. As for the marbled bathroom, please polish it once a year at the very least. The gunk in the marble and around the edges are disgusting. WiFi is nonexistent here. It shows a connection but it doesn’t work. They’ll tell you server is down for the hour, then another hour, etc. Seriously, take your money elsewhere.

Beautiful room, beautiful grounds. Service is okay. Awful breakfast, refuse to set up a buffet counter and gave us a menu with hardly anything available. One of the rooms I book had no hot water and hardly any water pressure l. After requesting, they didn’t fix it. The hotel is in fact really beautiful but service definitely needs to improve. Even simple things like ice they were being difficult.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel compound is green and wide. So, we can walk and feel the nature. It is a perfect choice for families with children because they can play freely. We were so lucky that we got monsoon promotion!

A lovely place to unwind, the rooms and staff are gracious and the grounds are grand. This was where the British Government functioned from during the summer in the days before the Second World War and the Governor's House museum, preserving the aura of the times, is well worth a visit. Food, especially the complementary breakfast, can be a tad disappointing though.

Huge suit room with decent interiors. Restaurant was located a bit far from room in old colonial building. Restaurant staff was polite and with smiling faces. Front staff was supporting. Swimming pool is private and only for higher price rooms. Overall,Worth for stay.

Impressive bulidings and landscaping are there. Rooms are very large with marble walls in big bath room. But service is slow and lazy that no body help to get the luggages down from car. The man who serve wellcome drink did not help when asked to help nor send anybody even after request. Tv is not working in room even after two people came in and checked. Wifi is just cycling and finally failed. Door safety jet had broken. When the bath tub was tried to flush, the valve was stucked and had to remove manually difficulty. Then the used water flush in to floor from the drainage opening. It is needing alot of maintance.

This hotel did not live up to the expectations it creates with its website. The location is nice with lots of green - but outside the city. The rooms: spacious bungalows, which are well appointed, but full of steps (in the room itself, from room to bathroom, in the bathroom). The staff were not overly friendly, especially given the fact that people in Myanmar are generally very friendly. Dinner was ok, but definitely not more than that. The same applies to the breakfast buffet, the choices of which were somewhat limited.
