The hotel has several Bungalows spread throughout the extensive gardens. It was once the Officer Quarters for the British Military. We were there for one night. However it is some distance from the downtown of Pyin Oo Lwin. The room was comfortable and we did not need the aircon during the night as Pyin Oo Lwin is above the hot plains and was used by the British, and still is by the locals, as a summer relief resort. Breakfast was well presented and the staff friendly and efficient

This hotel is really nice, i just love it. Breakfast is well served (like colonial time), the waitress is very attentive, and the breakfast was good. Hotel room, environment is very nice. The hotel does not have a pool, and and the only set back is there are no restaurants nearby, you need to walk a bit of distance or you can take a taxi. However, the botanical garden is nearby, within a short walking distance. Wifi is free but sometimes in the room it is a bit weak. Other than that, the hotel is great.

This is a beautiful little hotel, we only stayed here for one night but had really nice quality experience. It’s a pity there is not more information about the history of the old building as it would be interesting for tourists to know the history. The location is great if you want to discover the local botanical gardens. I would definitely recommend if you are in Pyin Oo Lwin.

We stayed here for one night in one of the bungalows. Whilst the room was large, with a lovely terrace and beautiful setting, the bathroom left a lot to be desired. The hotel is an easy walk up to the Kandawgyi Botanical Gardens, and is walking distance to a couple of restaurants on the way into town. The history of the property in interesting, and breakfast was great. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful too.

I stayed at the Kandawgyi Hill Resort near Pyin Oo Lwin for 10 days and used it as a base for visiting friends and travelling in Mandalay region. The resort is pleasant and comfortable. I had most of my meals at the resort, which were well prepared and very tasty. The staff were most helpful and spoke English well. I shall return in 2019.

The rooms (bungalows in the grounds) were spacious - enormous beds, old-fashioned bathroom that had seen better days, good air-con and with fan and torch in case of power cuts. The issue was the service. It took a while to find someone to check us in (although we were brought fresh juice while we waited) and we had to chase up our pre-dinner drinks. There are 2 dining rooms, both of which are small, so staff have to operate between them, but clearing tables did not seem to be high on their priority list (either between courses or when guests had left). Our local dinner was definitely toned down and tasted bland. Breakfast was a colonial breakfast - fruit, cooked breakfast, toast and croissants - just what you might expect. With a bit of staff training, this could be a real gem of a hotel.

The basics are there in that it is a characterful period property set in grounds. However, it is all a bit shabby and for example in the dining room the tables were not cleared after the other diners and some were just strewn with “stuff “.Some irritations; In our bathroom the hot and cold taps were the wrong way around. If you are going to offer cocktails you don’t want to wait 20 minutes for them. The food was ok but very Westernised and bland. With a bit of effort this could be a good place to stay.

It is a wonderful hotel. It has a beautiful surrounding with trees and plants. As it is close to the lake, the breeze is so fresh. It has a nice place to walk around. Breakfast area is not spacious but airy.

We loved this place. My daughter and i stayed in a bungalow room. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the room and bathroom perfectly clean, air con worked well, but windows easy to open when we wanted fresh air. The manager proved a most well informed gentleman, who told us about local history, and advised us on sights worth seeing. The National Botanic Gardens are a short walk up the road. This was great as it is splendid, and we returned there several times. The breakfast in the delightful dining room was delicious, and generous. There will be flashier hotels as this hill station develops, but i would definitely return to Kandawgyi Hill.

Quaint hotel 1920s British. Big fireplaces and timber interior features. Very quiet and private. Beautiful gardens. Comfortable room. Attentive staff. Old fashioned and warm formality. Breakfast standard. A little bit out of town but an interesting experience.
