We decided to take a break from the noise and smog of New Delhi and had been recommended by the US embassy to use this outfit for hotel and rafting. We were not disappointed. The service was stellar from the pick up at the airport to the dining, to the detail paid when organizing the itinerary. They are also flexible...

My family and I had the most fun weekend here and can not wait to return. The lodge is so picturesque and we had two connecting rooms with a gorgeous view straight over the forest and down to the Ganges. Ganesh was a brilliant and very capable guide and took us on 3 rafting expeditions as well as for a...

We had a group meeting at this location and were delighted with the great level of service in every aspect. Food was great. The location is beautiful. We had campfires each night. Rooms are comfortable. Two great afternoons of rafting. Two mornings of yoga. Just a wonderful time at Himalayan Hideaway. I would make 2 suggestions to them: 1) provide...

My friend and I went to Shivpuri, Rishikesh this weekend for Marathon Organized by 'Running and Living'. Stay was at Himalayan Hideaways. The name is apt. Even though it's right next to main road, it's rooms and cottages are much below. You won't see them from reception. Rooms have their own balconies, neat and clean bathrooms, cozy atmosphere, arrangements for...

We loved this place! We love the people who work here...starting with Perbhdeep and Ganesh and Manoj and others on staff. Service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The rooms are very comfortable. The setting is just perfect. We weren't just here on holiday but for a company retreat. This Lodge had perfect facilities for our meetings. Now, a number...

After all that long and wague journey, there awaited a most beautiful and rather unexpected Oasis, as the names says “himalayan hideaway” , Its an awesome place led by an awesome team. This is ideal for travellers looking for isolation and seclusion, and specially for people looking for a break from the crowded and loud indian cities. Its a must...

Fabulous location, great people to stay with. Clean rooms and environment, decent food, somewhat bland for Indians as they cater a lot to foreigners and expats in India. You have a view of the river from all rooms and you can go down a rocky path on to the banks. Wish that the path to the river was more accessible....

Thank you for your visit and do come again. Thank you also for aptly describing all our services and for recognising the professionalism of our Rafting Team, Himalayan River Runners. We will try and get our cook to interact a little more with the guests so that spicey vs blandness could be addressed a little better!

We stayed here towards end of may and in rooms downhill at the very end of property. The property is another 5km after shivpuri with no boards along the way to guide you, that is probably the only bit that disappoints. We could hear Ganges flowing along with birds chirping. The rooms were well done, large enough and tastefully done. Each...

This is one fabulous lodge (NOT A HOTEL) hidden in the foothills of the Himalayas and along the Ganga. It's clean, friendly, served excellent food, filter coffee, well trained courteous staff, very helpful humble manager, fantastic trekking and rafting team... Each cottage overlooks the river. No TV which is great. The owners take special interest in everything on board this...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Himalayan Hideaway is located 19kms from Rishikesh on the Devprayag in the Himalayan foothills, surrounded by a mixed forest with the Ganga flowing past. There are 10 rooms scattered over the hillside. We are not a resort or a hotel. We are simply a Lodge. The rooms are built and designed like a Colonial Forest Rest House. Our rooms are named after legendary climbers and explorers who have climbed in the Garhwal Himalaya. Our garden is indigenous and planted with only the native species of the area. No exotics. If you are looking to getaway from the city and unwind, have a desire to be in nature, want to step off the treadmill of city life for a couple of days, then the Himalayan Hideaway might be what you are looking for. Himalayan Hideaway is for those who want a leisurely and maybe not a lazy retreat. We offer white water rafting, bird watching, short and long hikes and Yoga. The food is wholesome and plenty. In short we offer you a warm and welcome retreat in nature. ... more   less
