But, it is the comforting seclusion of the mountains, forests, fields and streams that truly sets historical Fort Lewis apart. A 3200 acre estate ready to be explored. We had an amazing time staying at FLL. Incredible meals included with our room and beautiful country side to explore while staying there. So much to do in Bath County and what a beautiful place to stay while visiting. Don't miss the hike up to the top of the ridge above the river...incredible view of FLL from above.

I found this place on line when I was searching for places to stay not too far from the Blue Ridge Mountain trail. This place is well off the main road but SO worth the trip! The land that this lodge is situated on is nothing short of spectacular. The lodge itself was beautiful and the food!!!! To die for-incredible home made food that was some of the best food I have eaten! Will definitely return!!

This is perhaps the most unique lodge or resort that we have experienced. We have stayed here eight or nine times now and most certainly will be back. It is located on a 3000 acre property with hiking trails, a river with fishing available, and much more. Breakfast and dinner are included, lunch on your own and they will prepare a lunch basket if you want. Housing is in log cabins or lodge rooms. A beautiful setting with excellent meals and a relaxing time. And of all things - we had a flat tire Saturday afternoon before a planned checkout Sunday! I called John (owner) to ask his advice on who to call. Instead he called one of his people and the tire was fixed and full of air within the hour - Now folks, that is service!! And very much appreciated!

What a fabulous place! Relaxing paradise in God's country. Fresh breakfast and excellent dinner provided each day/night, which were included with the room rate. Great place to view the fall foliage. Hiking and biking were fun. Quick 30 minute drive to Hot Springs for lunch. The reasons for not giving 5 star include: room was very cold at night with no way to adjust the temperature (thermostat had a lock box on it), gathering room was very cold in the mornings (has a stove but only for ambiance, not for heat), supplied shampoo but not conditioner, no locks on any of the rooms, when we arrived at the exact designated check in time there was nobody there to greet us even though were were first time guests (had to pick up an envelope then figure out the grounds/facilities ourselves), our bed/pillows were not the most comfortable. Best parts were the location, the peace, the food and the foliage. Highly recommend!
