In spite of heavy snows, the hotel owner went out of his way to accommodate us. He even turned on the heat in the room in anticipation of our arrival so that we'd be comfortable as soon as we walked in. This motel is spartan. There is no breakfast, nor are there refrigerators or microwaves. But the cleanliness and customer...

It is an older motel, nothing fancy, but clean, nice size bathroom. Unfortunately no refrigerator in the room, if you need ice, go to the owner and they give you ice from their freezer. The restaurant in front of the motel is closed! So we went to Big Jon's Southern BBQ, all i can say it was the worst meal...

This place is locally owned. It is clean and freshened up. There are single rooms and efficiency rooms with coffee makers and refrigerators. Great price for what you get. No frills or fanciness. We will visit again.

(I reviewed this property previously under the heading,"Much Better Than it Looks From the Road",and I stand by that review; here is an updated review:) After I checked in,the owner came by for a moment to introduce himself. We talked a few minutes and I mentioned that the "emissions" light had come on in my car. He offered to call...

The motel was built in the 60's and has not been updated since. But the rooms are clean, the grounds are beautiful and the location is perfect; about a quater of a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway on VA 58 at milepost 180. The folks who own this motel could not be friendlier and more accomidating; they are the...

While traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I just happened up on this motel. How lucky can i get!! The owners were very hospitable and we had a nice conversation. The rooms are old, but very clean. Reminds me of motels we stayed at back in the 60's. Personally, I love these kind of places. All I need is a...

We visited the Blue Ridge Motel at the end of August with a group of friends who were cycling the length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is very close the the exit from the park, is quiet and peaceful at night, very clean, and homely. Excellent value for money

My husband and I were traveling on Blue Ridge Pkwy on our motorcycle and got stuck in quick and heavy rain. Needless to say we were drenched and looking for place to stay rest and dry out. Our GPS directed us to this hotel.I was hesitant the outside appearance was a bit run down but we had no other choice...

The Blue Ridge Motel,on US Route 58, is the first business west of the Blue Ridge Parkway interchange at Meadows of Dan. It is convenient to the parkway and to the small tourist build-up just east of the parkway interchange. Honestly, the outside of the place looks run down and cluttered, but I got a room on the logic that I was...

Good old fashioned motel. We stayed on a weekend, mid October. We don't need a generic Comfort Inn or something better for enjoying the mountains. A nice surprise. We'll stay again. Fridge, microwave, TV, and wi-fi -- none of which we needed, but good to pass that info on.
