My husband and I recently stayed at The Rosemary after I found it on my hotel search in the Marshall, VA area. We had plans the next day to see a friend of mine before continuing on our road trip, and this was located just down the street from where we were meeting. Leah from The Rosemary was fantastic - she and I communicated efficiently, our room was paid before I even checked in, all of our check-in information was emailed ahead of time, and she also left us a lovely note with a bottle of wine and glasses for when we arrived. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones there (we never saw or heard anyone else on our Thursday night stay), so it was lovely, private and somewhat secluded. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and we even made due without a TV for the night. The floors are creaky (as you'd expect from a building from the 1800s!), and the staircase to The Rooms Up There is a bit tight with luggage, but we didn't mind (we were smarter the next day and carried only a couple of things down at a time). The green doors with gold clovers to the rooms are a nice touch, and the snacks/drinks provided in the common room across the hall were very welcome! The room had beautiful marble bathrooms with glass and tile shower, it was very spacious, and had comfortable beds. In our room, we were also given great recommendations for dining. There's a few wonderful places nearby for food: Red Truck Bakery (across the street - try the strawberry cream cheese croissant), The Whole Ox (just down the street - a butcher and specialty shop with AMAZING burgers and fries!), and King Street Oyster Bar (a short drive away in Middleburg). For being on the main street, it was incredibly quiet. The price was great too, and worth every cent paid. If we are ever needing a place to stay in the area again, we'll 100% be staying at The Rosemary!

The check in process was simple, the room was lovely and spotless. Our suite had a beautiful bedroom and bathroom all very modern and tastefully decorated. The location is great, walking distance to Field & Main ( amazing restaurant ) as well as the Red Truck ( bakery/coffee shop ). The host provided a gift card for the Red Truck which was more than adequate for breakfast and coffee for two for both mornings of our stay. It was quiet at night and the HVAC system was quiet and worked very well for the space. I would definitely stay there again.

The inn is easy to find and parking is also very easy. It is in a great location if you are aiming to visit Marshall as you can walk down Main St. to many different shops and restaurants. It is very close to Field and Main if you are planning to visit for dinner. It is also a short walk to the cafe where a giftcard for breakfast is provided (which was tasty).

We were the only people there during our stay so we were able to use the common space which made our room feel even "bigger". The common space has a nice setup with an area to relax, games, snacks, and coffee/tea.

We stayed in the Counting Room, it was similar to a standard hotel room size. It had a king sized bed which was comfortable. The rooms had their own thermostat which was nice.

As others have noted it doesn't have many other amenities as you would expect at a standard hotel. This was fine with us as we had reviewed the website, but something to keep in mind.

Check in was done by email and very straightforward. It was very covid friendly as you can check yourself in and out.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Rooms Up There. The room was clean and equip with everything we needed for our short stay, and it felt very "COVID" safe since we were able to enter directly without encountering other guests. It was especially nice to have the breakfast voucher for the Red Truck Bakery. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast if you are visiting the area.

Pros: The room was very quiet, cozy, very clean, the linens were fresh and stylish. The room was decorated nicely. Wi-Fi was available. The bed was comfortable (firm), with plenty of pillows. There was a "Common" room with a few snacks and drinks (soda, coffee (Keurig), and tea), and a small icemaker. There was a gift card provided for breakfast at a nearby cafe. The breakfast available was sandwiches and pastries. We got the biscuit/sausage/egg sandwich and surprisingly, it was the best breakfast sandwich we'd ever had.

Cons: There was no TV, phone, iron, refrigerator, or microwave available. Storehouse Two does not have a scenic view, it's a view of the roof and the gas station across the street. The biggest grievance was the lack of an iron and board. We were attending a business casual function, and a formal function. Our clothes had been in our luggage for hours, were wrinkled and we could not iron them. I called the inn-keepers only to find that there was no iron on the premises at all...not even in the "Common" room. There was a hair dryer, so I attempted to use the heat from that to iron our clothes. These rooms are not cheap! If you can provide a hairdryer, why not provide an iron? An iron is such a "basic" amenity for those of us who still iron our clothes. Also, the Wi-Fi was slow.

If you are looking to disconnect from electronics, and amenities are not an issue, this is the place for you.

As a three room "mini Inn" we pride ourselves in setting guests expectations via the detailed information regarding our property that is on our website and booking engines. We would welcome your feedback as to how that information is inaccurate and how we can do better in the future to more accurately communicate our amenities. With only three rooms we know we can't be all things to all people. It looks like our accommodations didn't quite fit the bill for you and we're very sorry to see that. We know your time is valuable and we thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We wish you all the best in your future travels and hope that you will have better luck finding more appropriate and affordable accommodations in the area should you return.

This was a really cute place to stay for the night. We were attending a party in a nearby town so did not spend much time in our room but it was beautifully furnished with lots of nice little touches. The common area had snacks tea coffee water and soda. It was very quiet and parking was easy. The little town is cute too!

This is a beautiful place to stay in Marshall. We were a group of three couples who rented all the rooms for an evening. The Common Room was a great feature for us to hang out and play games, and fully stocked with snacks, water, coffee, tea and other drink options.

Nice place. Exactly as advertised in terms of room access, decor and comfort. The bed is extremely comfortable.. Yes, the rooms are up a staircase but I had no issue navigating that. The common room is a nice touch with waters and a Keurig machine.

Two very minor things. First, the WiFi wasn't working -- found only the internal 2.4GHz signal and not the one set up for guests. Given limited cell coverage the WiFi would be helpful. Second, the Keurig supplies were almost all teas. There were few non-decaf coffees. I may have taken the last one. These are small nits -- when corrected as I am sure they will be -- this place should get a rating of 5.

BTW, Marshall is a neat little town. Not sure what it's story is but its cafes and food shops are far more interesting than one might expect to find.

We had an amazing time during our stay at the Rooms Up There. The accommodations were incredible everything from the furnishings, to soaps and lotions to the linens and bedding had a refinement that are hard to beat. The inn sits right in the heart of the small town of Marshall. We were able to walk to our wine dinner one evening at Field & Main, which was delicious. The inn has a room for lounging or reading that is always stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, water, sodas and snacks. For each night of your stay you're provided a card that gets you breakfast at the Red Truck Bakery, just a short walk down the street. I highly recommend the inn for your stay in wine country!

We recently booked a room here for a weekend wine getaway and absolutely loved it! Our room was upgraded because no one else booked that weekend, and the room was absolutely lovely. Comfortable bed, perfectly decorated, and I especially loved the snacks and water available in the room and common area. We ended up getting engaged on this trip and everything about the weekend was absolutely perfect! We will definitely be back!

Congratulations!!! And thank you so much for your kind words. As a small three room facility we know that we are never going to be perfect for everyone, but knowing that we are perfect for some is exactly why we do this and we are so grateful when we here it from you. Even more than receiving your compliments we are overjoyed to have contributed to the success of this milestone. We enthusiastically look forward to accommodating you again in the future.
