Stayed for two nights. The Ebenezer is conveniently located near Charlottesville and among a plethora of vineyards. The hospitality is superb. If you stay, make some time to chat with your host, Alan! The history of the Ebenezer is rich and there are plenty of amenities to keep you entertained when at the B&B.

We were looking for a place close to several spots near Rt 33 and Rt 29. Ebenezer House fit the bill. It has a fascinating architectural design due to the fact that it was a Methodist Church that was taken apart, moved and reconstructed in its present location. We were greeted by Alan when we arrived. His mother (who recently... More

Thank you Chuck, You write a very nice description of the Ebenezer House. We are a non smoking B&B but your wife was correct, I am the smoker responsible for the faint smoke odor. I am in the process of trying to quite, but once in awhile I absent-mindedly light up when I am working in my private office on... More

Very homey B&B, Alan is a great host. The strange noises were a bit disconcerting at first, but it was just the pet cockatoo! Our room didn't have a bathroom in it but the shared one was very clean and nice. Homemade breakfast was very good and conversation with other guests was fun. The outside of the place is so... More

Thank you Meg, Yes Sweetie (the Cockatoo) can make some strange noises, which is one reason I bring him out to meet the guests, so they know whats making those noises. The other one is so that I can live with him until the next weekend, he now demands to meet our guest, if he doesn't there is no living... More

Booked this for my adult daughter and myself as a last-minute weekend getaway. Charming old house with lots of character, and well-furnished. Alan is a most genial host and his breakfasts are splendid! Despite the house's age, it's very well-maintained and rooms are equally charming and very clean. Bathrooms are fine although shower is a little cramped for 6ft+ like... More

Thank you Steven, I am only 5'8" so most people look taller to me, but I realized how tall you were when you had to duck at the bottom of the steps, I never thought of the shower problem! Next time the Coburn Room is for you, every thing is larger in that room including the shower and the 7'... More

I surprised my wife for our third anniversary by taking her here for the night and splurged on the romance package upgrade. When we arrived, Alan had a dozen roses, a bottle of wine and hand made chocolates waiting in our room, along with a congratulatory card. Also provided in the great deal were coupons to about 6-7 local wineries... More

Stopped here during our bicycle tour of Virginia wine country. Our room was small but nice. Our host Alan made the stay memorable by going out of his way to make us comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place in a very convenient and lovely setting. Room was tucked away in the eaves and would have been great for kids but will try another room with a little bit more head room next time. Other rooms looked perfect. The hospitality was wonderful and the food looked so yummy although I had little time to enjoy it thoroughly... More

Ebenezer House is a fantastic find. Allen instantly made us feel at home. We learned so much about the community in and around Charlottesville, all the treasures that exist there, and couldn’t have asked for better company, food or space. The people we met there were down-to-earth and had been coming back for years. Highly recommend it.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Create life long memories here at the Ebenezer House B&B, in the middle of it all, in Central Virginia in the Greater Charlottesville area. The Ebenezer House Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully renovated country style chalet that was originally built as a Methodist Church in 1901, in Culpeper VA. It was dismantled in 1984 and moved to its current location in Southern Madison County. Doris Webb bought the property in 2001 and started the Ebenezer House B&B. When Alan Webb (her son) moved here he built a 1,900sf addition in keeping with the original building’s historical style, and includes a handicap room for guests with disabilities. Located just North of Charlottesville and just South of Culpeper, only 500ft off RT29, yet nestled in the woods along the Rapidan River. RT29 is a major north south access between Interstate 66 and Interstate 64 and is minutes from all the historical sites and wineries. Then tour James Madison’s home, Montpelier and Thomas Jefferson’s, Monticello, have lunch at the famous Ritchie’s Tavern Visit Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall, go ice skating, to the theater and Friday’s Night Live on the Mall. ... more   less
