#1 of 2 B&Bs / Inns in Madison
Create life long memories here at the Ebenezer House B&B, in the middle of it all, in Central Virginia in the Greater Charlottesville area. The Ebenezer House Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully renovated country style chalet that was originally built as a Methodist Church in 1901, in Culpeper VA. It was dismantled in 1984 and moved to its current location in Southern Madison County. Doris Webb bought the property in 2001 and started the Ebenezer House B&B. When Alan Webb (her son) moved here he built a 1,900sf addition in keeping with the original building’s historical style, and includes a handicap room for guests with disabilities. Located just North of Charlottesville and just South of Culpeper, only 500ft off RT29, yet nestled in the woods along the Rapidan River. RT29 is a major north south access between Interstate 66 and Interstate 64 and is minutes from all the historical sites and wineries. Then tour James Madison’s home, Montpelier and Thomas Jefferson’s, Monticello, have lunch at the famous Ritchie’s Tavern Visit Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall, go ice skating, to the theater and Friday’s Night Live on the Mall.

Unfortunately and fortunately after booking a room at Ebenezer B&B in August through Hotwire for our 11/9 stay, our booking did not convey we ended up down the way at the Holiday Inn. We arrived at 2pm, heads up don't, Allen was not very accommodating or caring...staying at several B&B's thru the years arriving an hour early has never been a problem-make yourself at home and have a glass of wine etc. As other reviewers have stated, it is old and tired reaking of cigarette smoke, not to mention the kitchen was full of dirty dishes. We had a wedding to attend that evening and needed to get accommodations promptly, as I said fortunately in the beginning of my review, we hustled out and stayed at the Holiday Inn that is completely smoke free and newly renovated with clean towels.

This is not a standard b&b - it's a home - a place to sit back and enjoy life. Squeaky clean and sterile - no - lived in and comfortable - yes. Welcoming to both people and pets and with Sweetie to invite you in and provide "conversation". Alan greets you with a smile and helps you settle in - provides good company - and offers the most delicious breakfast. The wine tasting coupons are a good way to past a day and the covered porch the place for evenings. Hope we are in the area again to visit.

This bed and breakfast was fantastic! Alan was the utmost host that made sure we had everything we needed. The place is very charming and we loved how it was dog friendly! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a different kind of experience.

Great location, eclectic furnishings, memorable breakfast and beverages, stimulating conversation. What more do you want, need? Alan is a most gracious and amicable host. My wife and I cannot recommend Alan and the B&B more highly.

I stayed for three nights and I enjoyed every single one of them. It was amazing and unique experience. The host ( Alan) is an outstanding welcoming character. The area is beautiful, the house is comfortable and the porch seating is my favorite.
