We had an excellent stay at Applewood Inn. The hosts were very helpful. We had a flat tire when we were leaving and they helped us unloading our bags (we had a lot of packages since we were moving furniture from Atlanta to NY!!) and they helped us fixing the tire. The hosts had also really good stories about passing... More

We love Chris and Linda and the llamas! The grounds are beautiful, they are so hospitable and Chris is a great conversator, while Linda isn't as social we adore her art work, her obvious love for their B&B and her company. We feel at home here and really enjoy the hilltop views of the Shenandoah Valley while getting close and... More

What a wonderful experience! Chris and Linda are the most lovely hosts we could have asked for! They provided stimulating conversation, AMAZING food (fantastic pancakes and THE best omelet I've ever eaten), and the llama trekking was just...perfect. Our (very reasonably priced) room was lovely as well. (We loved the hot tub!) And the scenery, both at Applewood and the... More

We spent the weekend for our anniversary and it was wonderful! Chris and Linda were wonderful hosts and made sure we were well taken care of, from the amazing breakfasts to tips about what to do in the area. The llama trek was a lot of fun, and we enjoyed quiet days on the property as this is a wonderful... More

You go for the Llamas. You go for the outdoors. You go for the solitude. You go to get away. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is very good. The Innkeepers are very personable. Overall very fun trip with great photo opportunities of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Llamas.

Although this b and b is a little off the beaten path, it's worth the drive. About 5 miles outside of Lexington (of which, 3 of those miles are on gravel road), It is situated in the soft, rolling hills of southwest Virginia. We had a comfortable room with an attached bath. This place is not glitzy, but, oh so... More

My mom and I recently stayed at Applewood Inn on one of our mother-daughter weekend getaways and truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay with Linda & Chris. Prior to our arrival, Linda was very prompt to respond to any questions about our stay and upon our arrival Chris gleefully greeted us at our car and welcomed us inside. We... More

Everywhere we looked in this hidden treasure of a B & B, there are thoughtful touches that made us feel welcome and comfortable! Our hosts were delightful. The coffee and GF pumpkin pancakes were wonderful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

My husband and I came here for long Labor Day weekend, traveled from Virginia Beach. We left early am, and hit Crabtree Falls, a 2 mile hike up the mountain beside a glorious waterfall. We then drove to see Natural Bridge, also well worth the visit. We checked in about 4pm, the owners are very kindly and gracious. We had... More

The Applewood B&B is awesome! The owners, Chris and Linda, are gracious hosts and make you fee like you are staying with family. The Inn is well laid out, tastefully decorated and very neat and clean. The breakfasts were awesome...both Linda and Chris are excellent cooks. :-) The pool was especially inviting...and kid approved. An added treat is Linda's watercolor... More
