We are on a road trip through North Carolina and Virginia and found this hotel in a nice sounding town on Trip Advisor. Both the town and the hotel lived up to expectations and more. THE George's is a old building beautifully restored and decorated. There is another building across the street part of the hotel. Reception were very helpful... More

Picked The Georges based on reviews... Picked room 5 based on pictures... Staff asked at reservation time, in a call 3 days before and at check-in if we were OK with stairs... We are 74 and 73... Fit and agile... 53 stairs later into an amazing, beautiful, visually fantastic and super comfortable " small suite/big room on the 3rd floor... More

It isn't the Ritz. No room service, no elevators, no valet parking. You have to climb stairs with your luggage (not a problem for me) but beware if this is problematic. It's a glorified B&B posing as boutique hotel but extremely nice and by far the most glamorous and comfortable rooms in the best location in Lexington. In some ways... More

We were met even before we entered by lovely Southern Lady. The entire staff was delightful. The room was exceptionally well decorated including the (tiny) bathroom. Beware of very high beds, Not easy to get in and out of even with a stool. Spotless and excellent lighting. Fun bar, tho the chairs there and in the Pub were rather uncomfortable.... More

We’re pleased to hear that you felt warmly welcomed during your recent stay here at The Georges. Regarding the height of the bed in your room, I will re-look at the stool today and, if it needs to be replaced with a better one, then we will do that promptly. And regarding the chairs in our TAPS lobby lounge, I’d... More

My family and I stayed at The Georges during a road trip to drop our son off at college. This historic building has been renovated into a casual yet luxurious hotel. I found this hotel through trip advisor. A dear friend and I were road-tripping from NYC to western NC and wanted a midpoint to stop and refresh. I was looking at basic hotels and motels in the area but then found this place and the price was right. It is a georgously renovated hotel-with traditional furniture in honor of the... More
