We stayed here for a one night stopover and holy wow. It's simply perfection in terms of everything you'd want in a stunning, restful boutique hotel. Don't miss the wonderful cocktails at the bar (shout out to the the amazing bartender!) and homemade breakfast sausage in the morning.
The room and bathroom were beautiful and had everything you'd need. The hotel's location was also in a great spot in town. The breakfast that was included was pretty good, but nothing to swoon over. Just simple eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, and yogurt. The one big issue we had was with the bed. While every other review talks about how comfortable the beds are, I have to say that my husband and I were pretty shocked at how terrible our bed ended up being. I'm very picky with firmness of beds since I have back issues and need a firm mattress to feel comfortable, but my husband who never complains agreed it was one of the worst mattresses we've seen at a hotel. If anyone sat down on the bed, the whole other side of the bed would move, almost like a water bed. If I was laying down and then my husband got in bed, my side would lift up completely and get a bit firmer (although still really soft for a mattress). We ended up flipping our sheets and pillows to put our heads at the foot of the bed because it was more comfortable that way. I honestly think the mattress was simply overused and needed to be replaced. If you aren't picky with your bed and like a really soft, potentially overused mattress, that really is the only negative of this hotel. It was wonderful otherwise.…
Stunning boutique hotel in the heart of charming Lexington. Very stylish and interesting...fabulous bedding, excellent shower, wonderful breakfasts. TAPS has a great bartender and The General is our new favorite drink. Staff was outstanding—so personable and friendly...the hotel was full yet they helped us cheerfully with every request. Thank you!!
Went for a long weekend, hoping to get away to relax and refresh. The Georges was a perfect set up for that! The location couldn't have been better - parked the car and walked everywhere. Restaurants and historical sites were easy to walk to, and so much fun to explore. The accommodations were one of a kind, in a very good way, and just what we were looking for outside a more typical hotel experience. Rebecca at the front desk anticipated our every need, and Bill mixed drinks for us every evening that were something to write home about (you HAVE to try The General cocktail). Go see for yourself! You'll be glad you did.
