We arrived 2.5 hours early and went in to cool off and confirm our reservation. Nancy (receptionist) told us our room was ready and escourted us to our room and let us check in without waiting until 3pm. Our room was exsquisite! Private entrance and balconly was great for having a night cap in the evenings watching the sunset, and... More

We were met even before we entered by lovely Southern Lady. The entire staff was delightful. The room was exceptionally well decorated including the (tiny) bathroom. Beware of very high beds, Not easy to get in and out of even with a stool. Spotless and excellent lighting. Fun bar, tho the chairs there and in the Pub were rather uncomfortable.... More

We’re pleased to hear that you felt warmly welcomed during your recent stay here at The Georges. Regarding the height of the bed in your room, I will re-look at the stool today and, if it needs to be replaced with a better one, then we will do that promptly. And regarding the chairs in our TAPS lobby lounge, I’d... More

My family and I stayed at The Georges during a road trip to drop our son off at college. This historic building has been renovated into a casual yet luxurious hotel. The entire staff, from the front desk receptionist to the restaurant waitresses and bartender are extremely friendly and courteous. Our room was decorated with modern accents. The linens were... Stayed one weekend night in August 2016. The property is beautiful and the staff are lovely. The room and furnishings were all very high quality. The shower was fantastic. The staff even took the time to acknowledge a special occasion with a gift in our room. I would not hesitate to recommend The Georges to anyone. If this property were... More

I found this hotel through trip advisor. A dear friend and I were road-tripping from NYC to western NC and wanted a midpoint to stop and refresh. I was looking at basic hotels and motels in the area but then found this place and the price was right. It is a georgously renovated hotel-with traditional furniture in honor of the... More

I brought my daughter to visit Washington and Lee and we stayed at The Georges. What I found was a beautiful little boutique hotel on a hill looking over the city. From the moment we entered, this was different. The owners and staff have the most pleasant welcome - walk out to make sure you get parked and the help... More

We loved this hotel. It was very comfortable and charming and located right behind Stonewall Jackson's house. It was also close to shops and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and was quick to help with any information needed. The breakfast was done very, very nicely as well. We would definitely recommend!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. A number of nice touches like a towel warmer. Breakfast was considerably better than most chain hotel breakfasts and is actually brought to your table. Definitely get a lower floor because there is no elevator and the stairs are narrow.

We have stayed here twice in the past year, once in the King suite room 2 and once in queen suite room 13. Both rooms were elegant and comfortable. Our stay at the George was a fantastic experience, so much so that we rebooked into the hotel upon our return road trip.
