Autumn Ridge is located on a 40-acre ridge just minutes from Downtown Historic Lexington. The three private cottages are newer construction but are designed with that old, rustic mountain feeling of the past. The cottages are situated so you cannot see one from the others. However, they contain all the modern creature comforts to spoil you. Although each differs slightly, they all have the following amenities: King beds, Double oversize whirlpool tubs, Fully equipped kitchens, Satellite TV w/HBO/Cinemax, WiFi and Phone, Heat & air conditioning, Ceiling fans, Furnished front porches, Furnished decks w/charcoal grills. At the top of the ridge sits The BARN at Autumn Ridge where we now offer Goat Yoga sessions! Come and stay at Autumn Ridge - enjoy the gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! Renew and refresh your minds and hearts and experience Autumn Ridge!
We stayed in the Twinleaf cottage. It was perfect. Everything you might need was included: kitchen supplies, bathrobe, hair dryer, quality toiletries, even the fall decorations added to the coziness. We were greeted by many deer. For city people this was a treat! A swing at the end of the road overlooking the ridge was a peaceful place for morning coffee. Location was a quick drive to downtown restaurants and shops and other local attractions. We highly recommend and will stay again if in the area.

We stayed in the Bayberry cottage & it was amazing. The area is so quiet, so peaceful. My husband and I wanted to destress from life, work, kids & we did just that. Clean, comfy & welcoming. The jacuzzi tub, soft robes, absolutely comfortable bed (and we are BOTH bed snobs!), the fire place, front porch with rocking chairs, back deck with lights, everything was perfect. They have the most amazing bath salts for the tub. We were unable to get our massages - but that was fine! We traveled into town for a few hours and were able to get massages at a local masseuse! My only regret is we are both night owls & missed out on the sunrise swing I had read such amazing things about in the journal provided in the cabin. If you are looking for a quiet get away & are headed to the Lexington area - I HIGHLY recommend!

Wonderful getaway for our private New Year's celebration. Bayberry Cottage was clean, well-supplied and beautifully decorated. A few issues, however, resulted in my rating...the fire starter lighter on the mantle didn't work - we had fortunately brought our own and left it for the next guests. We had also brought charcoal and steaks but were unable to grill out due to early darkness and the burned out deck light and dead batteries in the flashlight by the back door. There were also burned out bulbs in the dining fixture over the table, some of the night lights and no batteries at all in the DVD remote. Could use a bit more attention to detail for the price. We had a nice stay despite these annoyances and will consider for future visits to the area.

Very convenient and cozy. Clean, easy to access, beautiful views, all of the details were thought out, all essentials were provided. Close to town, but out in the peaceful beautiful country. We stayed in the Deerfield unit and there were deer in the yard every day. Will stay here again next year!

Beautiful escape set on abundant acreage, 3 cabins spaced for privacy. Each is uniquely decorated but have similar amenities. Spotlessly clean, breakfast options for an up charge. You are able to completely relax, front porch, side patio with grill. The linens are first class, abundant towels...great big tub! The best part is the privacy, views and total immersion in the beauty of nature. A true respite for the soul.

If a problem arises, and you bring it to the hosts/owners attention, you can expect poor customer service.Should the owners have treated us kindly and fairly, we would not be writing this review. The place is very nice, as you can see in the pictures they provide. However, we experienced an infestation of large stink bugs inside the house. We spent the first 2 hours we arrived solely killing stink bugs. They were on the windows, floors, ceilings, countertop, linens, etc.We brought it to the hosts’ attention. She came to the cottage and was clearly annoyed with us.She had an attitude and made statements that demonstrated she thought we were over-reacting.It was very uncomfortable. She offered to put us in another cottage but we explained that the other cottages (3 of them located next door) probably had the same problem and these cottages were quite different than the superior/more expensive one we had booked…which had the only view of the mountains. She did not offer to go check to see if the other cottages also had a bug infestation. The owners should have been aware of the large bugs before we arrived,as there were hundreds inside. With that said, a little understanding from the owner would have gone a long way. When we said we would do our best to clear the room of them, spend the night, and let her know in the morning what we would do, she just stared at us, turned and walked out the door.No apologies, no goodbye, and not one pleasantry was expressed the entire time she was there. Nor was there any apology for the inconvenience and less than enjoyable experience during or after our stay. We spent the rest of the evening trying to engage in activities for short amounts of time outside the cottage (sitting by the fire, going to a restaurant), and each time we returned, we had to get rid of 10-20 more bugs. They were hiding out in the cracks and crevices and would creep out a few at a time.We got rid of at least 150-200 stink bugs.We were supposed to be there 3 nights however, due to the bug problem,we let the owner know we wanted to check out the next morning. It took 4 emails to get responses back regarding reimbursement for the 2 nights stay we didn’t use.She also tried to charge us an extra $50 surcharge for staying only 1 night and after reminding her it was not our fault that we had to leave early, she finally refunded the $50 back.We would have expected not only to be taken advantage of with the $50 surcharge, but for the owners to realize this was not an adequate experience and probably should have reduced the room rate. This was my husband’s birthday getaway celebration and it was stressful and inconvenient in many ways.We had driven 2.5 hours to stay here. We had to pack up the next morning (including refrigerated groceries) and find a hotel in town.I walked around inside with my shoes on all evening so as not to step on the stink bugs, didn’t take my clothes out of my suitcase to hang up, etc. We didn’t sleep well that night.I also had spent time calling our pest control company to ask questions about how to deal with the bugs…not something we should have to be dealing with.We couldn’t drink the bottle of wine that came with a 3-night stay, so we had to go out and get another one.The list of inconveniences goes on.I would add that the place was not the cleanest and amenities were lacking. When we pulled the bed away from the wall to kill some stink bugs, we found large dust bunnies and a pair of socks (see picture). The lighter on the mantlepiece didn’t work (a complaint by another customer who did a review previously), the 4 votive candles on the whirlpool tub barely worked (no wax left), 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 days and no tissues, only 1 serving of bath powder for the hot tub (for 3 days). To top it all off, the hot water for a shower was not working properly the next morning. It would turn cold every 10 seconds. We left the next morning without a shower, tired from little sleep, and disappointed with both our experience and especially the hosts’ response to the situation.

This place is just so lovely!! Beautiful cottage interiors that make you feel at home. Full kitchen...comfy beds... charming touches everywhere! Best part might be the isolated location, situated on a green hilltop down a winding little road. Drive up is really fun with mountain twists and turns. There’s a lot of privacy between the houses.
We did have one mishap with not receiving the door code in time (I think because we booked late) and being unable to get in contact with anyone for several hours which was frustrating. But it was well worth the wait and the owner was extremely apologetic. I suggest everyone just double check that they’ve receive the door codes a day in advance!
Lexington is also a great little town to wander around in. Good shopping/eats but not overcrowded. Will definitely be coming back to Autumn Ridge Cottages some day:)

From making the reservations, to the courtesy follow up email from the owners, this couldn't have been a better experience!! The cabins are in western Virginia, off the beaten path, but still close to local activities and dining. We stayed at the Deerfield Cottage which we found to be perfect for our weekend. The cottage was extremely clean, well maintained, and stocked with normal amenities such as towels, bedding, and dishes. There are a few "common sense" houskeeping guidelines which were nothing more than I would have expected for any rental property. There are 3 cabins located on the same property, but they are not located very close together giving you a sense of privacy. If you're looking for a quiet retreat from your hectic life, I would whole heartedly recommend this location. The owners are very friendly, and easy to deal with. Probably one of the easiest vacations I've scheduled!!

Our stay at Bayberry was so relaxing. The cottage was absolutely beautiful & cozy. It was the nicest cabin we've ever stayed in & we have stayed in many cabins. I love how quiet it was & private yet so close the downtown Lexington. All of the amenities are top notch, comfortable king size bed, superb master bath, jacuzzi in sunroom, beautiful kitchen & cozy fireplace. We can't wait to go back. The nearby city of Lexington has many fabulous restaurants & we loved the hiking we did at Natural Bridge. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to go away on a romantic getaway !

The cottage was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. You feel secluded in a mountain get-a-way but are actually only a short drive to town. The owners have thought of everything, right down to having a "frequent shopper" card on the key so that you get the discounts at the local grocery store. The cottage is clean, comfortable and cozy. We even had a group of deer stop by out front yard for a late lunch. We will definitely be going back.
