Stayed for 3 nights and didn’t want to come home! The inn owners, Peggy and Dudley are just wonderful. The breakfast dropped off each morning was divine! The pool is so beautiful and relaxing. Room was clean and had absolutely everything you would need/want. The location is in the heart of Irvington - so many great places to eat and shop. I would recommend this inn 100xs over!
Returning to the Hope and Glory was like going back home. Seeing Peggy's infectious smile as we entered the beautiful main house was just the beginning of yet another perfect stay at this very special place. "Dudley and I have been waiting for you." Those words melted the drive from DC and set us in the mood for a weekend of peace, luxury and pampering. We stayed in cottage 6, on the end of the garden path flanked by flowers, herbs, statues and cheeky signs. The two story cottage with a front stoop and a side brick patio is our new favorite. It gave us space to enjoy, relax and soak in all that it is the Hope and Glory. Dinner was beyond, as usual. Meseret's warm and welcoming hug was the aperitif to a gourmet meal of expertly prepared oysters, scallops and crab -- all from the Bay, of course. Heather's meticulous attention during dinner was worthy of any fine dining experience. After 2 nights, we left the Hope and Glory, already planning the next time we would go back home to see Peggy, Dudley, Meseret and Heather. Thank you!…
So many wonderful things to say about the Hope and Glory Inn. Where to start.. First off let me begin by saying we have been coming here for over six years now. At first for special occasions but then after meeting and really getting to know the amazing people we come here any time we can. The ambience and decor of the Hope and Glory is second to none. The quintessential home town yet elegant feel is vibrant in every detail. What really makes the Hope and Glory special is Meseret, the head chef who puts such love and care into not every dish and every plate that is served. Presentation is amazing and the food is absolutely perfect. We have never had a "ok" meal here, they have all been wonderful, but tonight's meal was the best to date. The scallops were second to none and the huge yet elegant crab cake was perfectly executed. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Meseret's famous carrots. You're thinking carrots.. really?? YES the carrots! So simple yet unbelievable. There is no detail that Is not cared for by the whole team at the Hope and Glory. To Meseret and Heather, Thank you for an absolutely wonderful and memorable evening. Perfect food, ambiance and company. We will see you soon!!…
Fantastic niche hotel we stayed at as an alternative to staying at the Tides Inn for a family wedding! The hotel staff where highly accommodating and couldn’t be any nicer! The building was built in the 1890’s so expect old feel but this only enhances the experience. Lovely little place! Would stay again if visiting Irvington.
My husband had to leave the restaurant before our meal was over; the management and staff of the restaurant made sure I was taken care of during the rest of my meal, and our waitress Heather drove me back to the hotel when the hotel shuttle didn't show up; really extraordinary service, thank you!
Incredible owners and staff. Wonderful cabins. The daily breakfast was very good. Definitely returning!!!! Farmer's market right across the street, too! The staff is very involved and super friendly, really enjoyed them. Owners, Peggy and Dudley couldn't have been nicer.
We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights in Cottage 4 at Hope and Glory. The accommodations were lovely and the service, from the delicious delivered breakfast to the fact that the team knew us by name was wonderful. The pool was private and relaxing. The Inn itself is close to everything: grab a free yellow bicycle and explore the charming town. We loved our stay and will be back!
My husband and I stayed here for my birthday last weekend. It was just incredible. The inn itself and our room (schoolhouse room inside the inn) were very cool, beautifully decorated, and so peaceful. The outside patio in the back is lovely and we loved hanging out at the pool. The cottages looked amazing and next time we'd like to book one. The fresh breakfast being brought to our door each morning was a really nice perk of staying here too. My only regret is not using the outdoor garden bath! We had an amazing four course dining experience at The Colonnade, which is the restaurant inside the inn. The chef is a genius and we enjoyed the wine pairings. I also really appreciated that she came out after one of the courses to chat with dining guests---I haven't seen that happen before. Peggy, Dudley, and Heather did a wonderful job making us feel right at home and always made sure we were taken care of. I can't say enough good things about them. We can't wait to for our return trip to the Hope and Glory Inn!…
Everything about Hope and Glory was fantastic! Peggy and Dudley could not have been more accommodating and all of amenities were top notch. Loved the quaint setting of the town and used the bikes to ride around and explore. Can’t wait to return!
@hopeandgloryinn Merci beaucoup for a romantic getaway to kick off the celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary with an experience to savor! Special shout-out to Chef Meseret for the exquisite meal—and Bordeaux wine recommendation, to Heather for serving us with her special touch, and to Innkeepers Peggy and Dudley for creating ambiance that feeds heart and soul. #allthefeels #getaway #hopeandglory #irvingtonva #anniversary #historic #romantic #rejuvenation #qualitytime #pearparsnipsoup #chateaubriand #bubbly #magical #châteauvieuxmanoir2020bordeaux #lovebirds #onlyoneonlyone #truelove
