My husband and I has a wonderful stay at the Tides Inn. We were greeted with an upgrade to a water front room and a discount from the rate we had originally booked. Our room was lovely and graciously furnished. The service was warm and friendly. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the kayaking and the par 3 golf course.... More

This was our first visit and we were surprised at this amazing little gem. Valet service was ready when we pulled up and I love how these southern gentleman always opened the door for guests! They also had cookies and lemonade at valet. We stayed in a king room. The hotel itself is showing some wear but understandable given its... More

Property - As other reviews have mentioned, the property is excellent. The views all around are excellent too. Reservation - Though it was done through TripAdvisor, received a confirmation mail from the resort as well as a personal greeting from the staff shortly. Received the activity list too, along with suggestions for things we could do along with our infant... More

Came here with my husband for a conference he was attending. While he was in meetings I could stroll around the grounds, ride and a complementary bicycle, or participate in many other activities. They have a full-service spa (price per service), swimming pool, paddle boards and kayaks (included). One morning I walked down to town and drank an iced tea... More

Quality service at all levels. Check-In with Dedrick was smooth and efficient. Entire staff exceedingly warm and greetings abound. Dinner was a highlight with Adam as wait team leader a wonderful evening . . good food, grand service, pleasant and appreciated. Hostess provided personal care and too was warm and very personable. Thanks to the entire Tides Inn team!

We visited the tides Inn, a place we visited many times before we had the good fortune to travel extensively internationally. The view from our room in the main building from the third floor looking out on Carter Creek toward the 2-mile wide Rappahannock River is magnificent, one of the best in the world. For a special event in your... More

Hello Francis, Thank you for your candid review. We value your feedback and are glad that you had a great stay with us overall. We are disappointed to hear that you had a negative experience with our reservations team and that you felt that our food and beverage pricing was too high. We are constantly reevaluating our guest offerings and... More

We have been to the Tides several times, coming every summer, but upon checking in today we were disappointed with the service. In the past, the service has been great and the staff friendly. Today we arrived around 1:30pm, without expectation that we could get into our room. We pulled up to valet and no one was there. I unloaded... More

This is my third visit to Tides Inn. I went with a girlfriend for a getaway and found that resort catered to families with elementary age children. The pool was open until 8 p.m. with no lifeguard but families lingered long afterwards on weekends. It would be ideal to have kids out by 8 p.m. and let adults swim until... More

Thank you for your comments. Feedback both good and not so good is important as it helps us to stay on top of our game, I note your comments on Kayaks and have to say that it is very rare to have demand before the times we open, certainly we can move forward midweek to 8 but before that tends... The Tides Inn is like a time capsule from another decade. While the amenities are up to date, the atmosphere harkens back to another time. The resort is quiet and comfortable while the staff is first rate in their service. We will return to the Tides Inn again in the future.

With friends who live nearby, we recently went to dinner at the Tides Inn. We had not been in a few years, and we had heard mixed comments. So we were interested to visit and eager to taste. We were quite pleased. The five of us all had fish dishes and all were well received. The special salmon with a... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On a lush peninsula in Virginia's historic Northern Neck, the waterfront Tides Inn has welcomed generations of friends and families who cherish the relaxed pace of local life and the Southern hospitality of our staff. Guests can learn to sail at the on-site sailing school or explore the calm waterways via paddle boards, kayaks and canoes while spotting golden eagles, osprey and herons. The 18-hole Golden Eagle golf course is a pleasantly challenging wooded course with water hazards, and there is also a Par-3 course, tennis, croquet, and spa, plus bicycles for pedaling into town. Our farm-to-table cuisine highlights oysters from the nearby Rappahannock River, and we're located on the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail with several Virginia wineries nearby. ... more   less
