We went to Bai grande for a meal after our flight from Glasgow . We didn't eat at main restaurant as we thought that was prob for guests , we ate in the lounge . There was entertainment on which was good .. My nephew are here two nights previous an said he got a lovely steak

Dear Margaret W The minute you stepped in the door you became a guest and could have had your meal in the restaurant. For some reason, you chose to have a lighter meal at the bar. As you discovered, there is no Peppercornsauce steak on our list. This was served during our Portuguese themed evening at the Buffet. I wish you had mentioned that you had a problem with your burger as serving it on a hot plate would have been the easiest problems to solve. I personally prefer my burger served on a plate at room temperature because I like my salad cold and I do not like soggy burger bunn, but that´s me The TV channels can be tricky, but I'm glad someone has solved this for you, however, we usually have the TVs in the bar tuned to a sports channel without any sound. As the bar caters to a variety of nationalities, this can be tricky. I wish you would reconsider eating here again and if so please let me know. Best wishes Paulo

Dear Jimmyjpamc I am disappointed we could not follow through on your initial impression and in virtue of not often receiving such negative reviews I shall respond to all your issues above in chronological sequence. Besides the checking in and out times of rooms being available when booking, it is common knowledge that there are specific times to check into a room as well as out, ours are 14h00 for check in and 12h00 for check out. On occasion we receive requests for either earlier check in or later check out times and when possible we try to oblige. In your case no requested was received, we were not even aware of your flight times and you checked into your room at 13h30. Again, as per information provided, the hotel provides a free shuttle bus at specific times to specific locations, as you can appreciate we are not able to provide free transport with driver at every guest´s beck and call and to avoid confusion we request that all guests using the shuttle service request so at reception, they are provided with a ticket that specifies the pick up time so as to avoid leaving anyone behind. Pretty much like any public transport service only this one is free of charge. On arrival or during your stay I received no information regarding any need for maintenance in your room, the room has since been re occupied and I failed to detect any missing tiles. Given there may have been a problem with your towels a simple request to have these changed along with an apology from the staff may have resolved this problem. Anything more serious I am sure would have been brought to the attention of the staff/management. You mention that the cleaners only used mops to clean your room however you expected the mats to be hoovered? This because your room was indeed hoovered before the floor was cleaned with a mop and your mats changed, as these are washed and not hoovered. There are no coffee making facilities in the room, let alone self catering kitchens that would allow you to prepare meals. You must have mistaken Hotel for Apart hotel and hotel room for apartment. We receive some complaints regarding our breakfast, usually from non British guests who claim our Buffet to be too British. ie: Sausage, bacon, eggs, beans fried tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, pancakes, croissants, cereals, Fresh fruit etc. I would gladly accept suggestions as to what you were wanting to eat and would try and accommodate, within reason. The doctors visit is serious and I can assure you that during your stay we provided free and immediate transport to 2 (two) guests who required medical attention, this without showing any inconvenience, why you would feel you were being inconvenient by requesting reception to make a simple and normal phone call requesting a doctor´s visit I shall inquire. But apparently it was not necessary. The kiosk besides the hotel provides beach utensils, souvenirs and newspapers, during low season the kiosk is closed and newspapers may be requested at reception. Some shops are closed in Albufeira during the winter, as this is a beach resort this is understandable and beyond our control.Please note that the shuttle is the only FREE means of transport, at a cost you are able to use taxis, buses, trains, transfers and various excursions. Please note that your booking did not include any of these extra services. I understand you may have had some issues during your stay but to warrant such a negative evaluation mostly due to issues extra to our services and not wishing to bring them to our attention when we could have been able to do something about them I guess is you prerogative.What I take from such reviews is the fact that they may be useful to future gusts but I suggest you follow your own recommendation and in future use the various means available to research your chosen destination and service information to avoid disappointment. We are not in the habit of misinforming anybody and our services and policies are available everywhere. When these are shortcoming I go out of my way to secure these are provided or, in some cases, compensate for them when they are brought to my attention. Yes it's a good walk to Albufeira and steep hill coming back but there is a shuttle service. The rooms are quite large with a views over the pool worth that extra money. Complaints with cleaning had to go to reception to change towels after 7 days and bedding not changed the
