Experiencing The Homestead is a must. Wonderful, historic, classical hotel in the middle of the Allegheny Mountains. Three world class golf courses. Food and service to die for. You must not skip breakfast for it alone is worth the trip. The fine dining in the main ballroom with classical music and a wait staff at you beck and call is...

We visited the Homestead for a group leadership retreat - had a great time. We had time to experience the guided fly fishing activity with Matt...he is the BEST! Very patient and informative. He made us feel like he really wanted us to enjoy all the experience had to offer. We also played golf on the Old Course - it...

Have stayed in winter and summer. Not necessarily conveniently located, but if you can make the trip it's a perfect winter weekend getaway. The slope is basically on the grounds of the hotel, but you need to take shuttle there or drive yourself. Easy to rent skis. Nice lounge/bar area with view of slope. One chairlift. I think technically there...

Thank you for visiting The Omni Homestead during our winter and summer seasons. We appreciate all your kind comments, as well as suggestions and observations which are always helpful to us. Just what we needed after a long and muggy summer - the Homestead offered an escape to a little cooler climate without having to drive too far! The Spa was amazing! The herbal steam bath - rejuvenating!

A first class resort with a remarkable array of activities available. Food was excellent at all restaurants except Sam Snead Tavern, which was terrible. Service always prompt and friendly. The falconry class is highly recommended.

A lovely hotel in the mountains of Virginia. Family friendly atmosphere with great golf and tennis. Kids will enjoy the pool, mini golf and other fun options. The hotel and grounds are lovely, but the rooms do need tp be updated. Worth the drive if you want to get away and feel like you have traveled back in time.

I had high hopes for my trip. Alas, the service was deplorable. From the very minute I arrived, I was either neglected or treated rudely by staff. First, no valet/bellman assisted me when I arrived, despite many of them seeing me. So I carried my luggage up the front steps...and still no help. I finally flagged one of them down...

Archery, horses, carriages, golf, 5K guided hikes, self-guided trails, in-house movie theatre, pools, spas, and more! Everyone had a drink in hand and socialized on the front porch or...

The Homestead has definitely improved since Omni bought it - the rooms were in much better shape and the pool area and spa were expanded and renovated. The food seemed much more updated too. I am just not sure it is worth the cost, both in terms of the drive and the stay. The room rate is fairly high and...
