I am not a fussy traveler and generally easy to please (check out my other reviews) - but this hotel takes five stars for settings new standards for “disgusting!”! Arrived around midnight after a long tiring journey with cancelled flights, delayed trains etc and checked into the room. I am a Gold Marriott Bonvoy member. Instead of an upgrade, I found the room to be worse than a roadside motel. The chair was ripped, air conditioning did not work, the room was hot and stank, the bedside digital clock was broken. Ripped open a supposedly new bar of soap from its packaging to wash my hands and face and found the soap was already half used, complete with hair. I can understand the maintenance problems with the chair, clock and air conditioner, but re-packing used soap and personal care products, especially during a pandemic takes the cake and sets new standards for extreme cost savings by Marriott / Westin. Utterly gross and disgusting!…
Stayed one night since we had an early and long international flight the next morning out of Dulles. We were able to check in early, our room was clean, had a nice view of the pond, and it was very quiet. We were not looking for all of the amenities one might typically be seeking but for a quiet overnight experience, we had a great stay.
Horrible service. We were waiting for a shuttle service and we ended up calling and their driver was sick so they didn’t have a shuttle. We waited almost 45 minutes. I am very unimpressed. And very frustrated with how this was handled. I would give it zero stars but I can’t.
I've been a Bonvoy Member since 2012 and always prefer certain Hotel Brands for my accommodations. I was in town for business and would like to say that Kristina N. and Sunny made my stay even more pleasant than I could ask. They were very thoughtful and welcoming with my needs. Thank you both again for helping me with printing my materials (Kristina) and switching my room (Sunny).
I've enjoyed several stays at this hotel when my travel brings me to the DC area. I've tried several properties near the airport and this one is my favorite. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. They offer workout rooms with gym equipment in the room to make it easier to keep a healthy routine. The food at the restaurant is very good. I particularly like the chicken masala and the ribeye. Special thanks to the three Oscars (Bartender, Restaurant Manager, and Front Desk) who always greet me with a smile. Thanks also to Kristina at the front desk who has been very friendly and helpful, particularly with my meal delivery. Thanks to Michelle and Raul as well in the restaurant/bar for their great service. I'll certainly choose this hotel next time I'm in the area.…
This is a nice hotel near Dulles but not the best location for accessing restaurants and shopping. I have to admit that I was really scared to stay here due to several reviews mentioning bed bugs. We were part of a hockey group and had no choice in our accommodations. I only stayed here one night to meet our tournament requirement and then had another place booked for the 2nd night. If not for the reviews, I’d have been happy staying here both nights. It took me 20 minutes to fully inspect our room and I saw zero evidence of any bugs. I was way more thorough than usual since there are reports that they’ve had some issues. In fact, everything was super clean. I still didn’t want to take any chances, so I kept all of our belongings in the bathroom. The bathroom was really nice. Some other reviews mention that the hotel seemed dated, that was not my impression at all. In fact, I thought the bathroom was very modern with nice fixtures and lighting. The rest of the room was nice, too. Lots of USB ports available, nice sized tv, properly working fridge (which is surprisingly unusual), etc. The view from our room was scenic. There were office buildings and a parking lot, but also a really pretty pond with a beautiful stone bridge. The beds were just ok. The pillows were lumpy. I usually bring my own, but again, I was traveling light due to previous guest reviews. There is no free breakfast which most other hotels do provide. That’s annoying, especially since it’s a 5 minute drive to get to anywhere to eat. They also charge $8/day for parking which luckily was waived for our group. I understand the charge if you are doing a park and fly or something, but it’s unacceptable otherwise. The only parking is in a garage which has good and bad aspects. The good is that you do not have to deal with inclement weather and the spaces are good sized. The bad is you have to rely on an elevator to take you to the lobby then walk to another elevator to go up to your room. That’s inconvenient. We had an abundance of hot water for our showers, but many others in our group reported cold showers. I’m conflicted as to whether or not I’d stay here again. If I had no knowledge of the bug history and based it solely on my experience then I’d definitely consider returning. I fully realize that any hotel can have this unfortunate issue and it isn’t a reflection of the cleanliness of the hotel or anything. All that aside, I’d still probably look for another option in a better location, with free parking and breakfast.…
The staff at the hotel are all nice. It is so sad that the hotel is completely falling apart around them. We arrived at the hotel and pulled into the hotel's five story garage and parked and took our luggage to the elevator to go to the lobby. The elevator was broken. We walked down to the lobby and went to get a cart to help with our luggage and there weren't any. We wanted to eat at the restaurant, but it was closed because the pipes had broken. When we woke up, we had to take cold showers because there was no hot water. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic. Throughout, the staff was apologetic and mortified. I wouldn't stay there ever again unless they renovated (and kept the staff). The furniture in our room was ripped and falling apart.
Flood in restaurant.... completely closed and no food service at all. Parking garage elevator broken in freezing weather with no notification of such and no response to elevator call No hot water... engineering responded and then there was enough for one bath. Cold again upon waking in the morning... flight to catch, no time to wait. Room was tired Front desk staff was nice and helpful with printing travel documents Overall incredibly disappointing Marriott experience
Overall, nice and convenient location but customer service needs major improvement. The hotel is a little old and outdated. Bathrooms need renovations and they tend to accumulate water very easily in the bathtubs.
Overall a very pleasant hotel. Rooms were nice, although it was hard to take a shower without flooding the bathroom as the shower curtain was too short. Mini fridge in the room, but no microwave. Ate breakfast at the restaurant and it was good for a breakfast buffet. Service was good at the restaurant, but not great otherwise. Despite getting a late check-out, staff tried multiple times to come in an clean the room. Pool was closed, but fitness center was nice. Unfortunately it smelled really bad in there, but you eventually get used to it.
