For those traveling with their pets, our hotel is pet-friendly, too. Being rich with history and home to an esteemed university, Harrisonburg has a wealth of locally owned businesses. In fact, the town was designated a National Main Street Community in 2004. You’ll find all kinds of small shops and dining options in the picturesque downtown. While we think our town is lovely, we also encourage you to explore the surrounding area if you have time. We highly recommend Skyline Drive—one of the most scenic drives in the state—which is less than an hour south of our hotel.

Very Clean hotel, recently renovated, former Comfort Inn. Nice quiet room, comfortable bed. Large TV with excellent reception. Little difficult to find, have to go on a service road to enter the driveway, in a busy area. Plenty of free parking. Close to Waffle House, other dining spots and shopping. We found a restaurant that delivered pizza to our room. Hotel is near I-81. Prices for room moderate, prices really fluctuated. One day was $97, the next day was $81. I didn’t understand that. You can save a little by paying a non- refundable rate. I booked at the lower price. You have to check daily for best price, Breakfast OK, standard, not exceptional. They honored my request for a first floor room. Check in and check out efficient. I am giving it four stars instead of five because they ask for a $50 security deposit that apparently comes off your charge in a few days. What’s with that? Since I paid ahead, a non-refundable rate (which saved me some money) I did not have that security charge, since they had my card on file, but I overheard the conversation between the person checking in ahead of me and the front desk clerk about that charge. Never had that request made before in any other hotel. I don’t like that sort of thing. What kind of security are we talking about here? They don’t trust your credit card? Also I am a platinum member and usually the front desk clerk will say thank you for being a (elite, platinum, diamond etc) member, which they did not. I was offered a choice of bonus points or a snack and drink so I guess the check in person did see my Choice Hotel status. So all and all, I would say this is a very nice hotel so if you want to pay a little more and stay in a very clean, quiet hotel, and not mind the stupid “security fee” this hotel is for you. I would stay here again for the right price although perhaps would look for a hotel in a less congested area. There is a lot of traffic in that area and as I said, the hotel sits back a little ( but can be seen from the main road) and the service road might be hard to find in the dark.

Have the next 4 years of hotel stays while my son is at James Madison University. This one was clean, quiet, friendly staff, easy parking and convenient location to the university. I travel with an elderly 7lb dog and would prefer a large refundable deposit ($100) to the automatic $25 per night fee added to the room.

LEFT IN THE STREET AT 9 PM IN A RAINY DAY! We booked this hotel through Expedia for 3 nights, the most expensive suite. The Expedia site stated that “the rooms are pet friendly, pets stay 15$ per pet per night”. We arrived at 9pm with 2 small dogs and the receptionist informed us that the room is not pet friendly. I asked if we can give us any cheaper room which is god friendly. Receptionist told me that there is a fee of 250$ for the cleaning a room after someone stays with the dog. I asked why wasn’t this information not listed on Expedia. He blamed Expedia, did not make ANY attempt to accommodate us, said “the manager is not available at the moment” and did not even tried to contact him/her for help. Just joked that “I’m do not want to pay 250$ from my salary!” So unprofessional! If the hotel uses other services (Expedia, kayak, etc) to advertise and find clients it’s their responsibility to ensure the information is correct and updated. Customers are not valued here. Also, likely the employees are not treated appropriately if they are afraid to be charged for the fee to help the customer and to contact manager if they are insure what to do. Very very bad. Never had this situation before.

We stayed for JMU Homecoming weekend. It was a quick drive or Uber to JMU campus or downtown. Affordable rate compared to other places. It was clean. Staff was nice. Free parking. Bed is OK but not as comfortable as I’m used to. Bathroom counter and shower were very small. If you want an affordable place, this is a good value.
